I think the improvement in vibes compared to her last album compensated a lot for the less ingenuity you mention. Happy Billie just feels a lot better than whatever was happening on Happier than Ever imo

i thought consistency was its biggest problem in my opinion. A lot of the album felt like snippets designed to go viral on tik tok because those snippets were just not melodically consistent. The beat and melody would just randomly shift at awkward periods.

I agree, but the consensus is this is her best yet. Critically and fan reviews, plus its her best selling album with very good returns each week. So unfortunately we are in the minority
