    Thank you for providing such a great video. I have a question Sir, how do you know if the tolerance stated in the table is equally disposed on the basic size? Could the tolerance be unilateral (+x / +y) instead of bilateral (+/-x)? Thank for reading my question.

    hi, may i ask. for IT12, is it acceptable to add the tolerance tighter (into IT11) or looser (into IT13) in the drawing? If the drawing specific that we must use IT12, is tighter or looser acceptable or not ?
    Thank you

    It is required to compute the limit dimension for an interference fit on the shaft basis system for a basic size of 30mm diameter, with a negative clearance of 0.20 mm, tolerance on hole 0.025mm and tolerance on the shaft 0.050mm. (ans)

    Can you Please explain me ,if the plastic part is made up of Injection molding so it's Grade is IT12 TO IT 14 ,SO WHICH ONE IS SELCTED FOR TOLERANCE AND WHY ?

    • @mechanicalvault
      @mechanicalvault  7 месяцев назад +1

      You can start with higher grade if allowed by function and reduce the tolerance if needed.

  • @venkatsureshmedishetty657

    Sir which book we will get value of IT value and for all manufacturing process Which IT grade??

  • @amolaegade5428
    @amolaegade5428 Год назад

    can anybody explain why fits weren't considered anywhere in this video to arrive at tolerance values....in this video tolerance values were selected on the basis of manufacturing process but don't you think selecting tolerances based on fits is more appropriate compared to that...

    • @mechanicalvault
      @mechanicalvault  Год назад

      If we have mating feature in design which form engineering fit, then it makes sense to choose IT grade based upon function. But most of the dimensions and Tolerances on the part may not form the engineering fit, so in those cases, simply select the cost effective manufacturing Process and relevant IT grade.

    Good morning
    Sir when we select tolerance then that time why divided by 2 . Can toy explain me details.

    • @ashwads
      @ashwads 2 года назад

      it's not supposed to be divided by two, after we get the tolerance value, then we need to find either the upper limit or lower limit. there are more table comes to find that... infact i missed the book and forgot how exactly it's done
