@@aerialpractice 😆 not even sure what a daisy chain is lol but i know i have to buy a swivel but its pointless bc found out yesterday my ceiling is too low to try and climb😭
aerialpractice very much ... actually I teach aerial yoga here in Johannesburg for a bit over a year now so love watching videos for inspiration or variations of sequences I do. Look forward to seeing more from you 💜
Thank you for this video! You break things down so clearly, I love learning from you. (I've done hoop and silks for a few years, but only started hammock recently)
Woah silks and hoop! I feel those are so much harder than hammock but I am sure I am bias haha! Glad its helpful to you! I am always the last one to understand anything in class hahah I feel like my learning disability forces me to find clarity in the simplest way. More are coming soon!
Isabella Are you practicing Hammock too? Would love to see your practice😍! I will definitely keep sharing more hammock flows. I practice 2 routines a week that will be filmed and uploaded to aerialpractice. Sometimes I practice Hoop, sometimes I stretch, most of the time is hammock!
aerialpractice yes I have one at my house and they help me so much with getting better i’ve been practicing for three weeks literally nonstop and I just started taking classes this Friday with your videos I have learned so much thank you so much 🥰❤️
Darling you're an angel! I kept trying to turn the wrong way & wondering why I couldn't get the cross over my back and I kept ending up standing on the ground with my left foot with the fabric up on my right foot. Also I could be completely wrong but, I was using one of your videos yesterday & I swore you only had like 13k subs & now today it says 16k. If that's the case WOW great job! I subscribed yesterday & your videos are helping me so much. My hammock hangs a little low & I don't have a lot of fabric to use because of the ceiling height, but it is starting to be spring here in New York, so I am thinking about getting a second one to put outside in a tree. I may try an actual silk tho.
Interesting! I wonder too. Hope you are having more luck? i am not sure what goes wrong without seeing it. I am also thinking to go LIVE in May to walk through whatever people find challenge, maybe cross back is a good one to discover more?
OMG Lidi. its like you read my mind. Next up is a beginner aerial sling flow to practice spinning. Will be out this Saturday!... I better get up and start practicing if I want that to happen haha!
Hi! I noticed that you have gymnastic rings hanging from your roof. Would be nice if you can show us some exercises using them. I’m about to buy rings cause my arms are REALLY weak 😬 /Regards from Sweden 😊
Thanks for the idea! I do use my rings for basic pull up and skin the cat. Thought it wouldn't fit the content in this channel so i never did. but you are right!! Let me share a routine!
i’m gonna start practicing this when i get home tonight! :D edit: did not do so good :') i kept messing up when it was time to do the turn and couldn't figure it out
When u flip up to the straddle, do you have to ensure the intersection at the back is low enough for you to push and pull yourself while falling backwards? I feel myself using lots of arm strength but still not able to go up!
not exactly. I find it possible as long as the cross is on my back. This video is just a bit old, I m gonna try to update it =) It actually doesn't need so much arm strength but more side ab strength. What I do now is I would keep my arms and elbows close to my body, do a slight pull up in cross back to lift some tension of the silks. Then use a lot of abs/side abs and other core muscles to invert, I also bend the free leg so it's easier to go (than straight legs). Hope you find this helpful. If its still a challenge, I just shared a new video on Aerial Straddle. Cross back is like straddle but with more harder i feel.
In short it's all technique. You actively try to NOT swing in every step along the way. Think hard about your core controlling your movement (including the hammock as an extension of your body). It sounds difficult maybe but your body will get it the more you think about it and keep thinking about how to do it better.
In 1:05 you can see my body turns to face the mirror side, back facing the camera. so at 1:10 you can see my left leg kicks to the left side to create the cross in the back. Hope this helps!
The best way to go forward is to work from the ground first. Go check out the core routines, it takes more core strength than it looks. It also took me so time too at the beginning. You can also try using the momentum to help, leaning the upper body back and swinging the free leg up. Just hold the hands tight if you do use this method and have a spotter support you.
Yes, but there is a whole range of beginners. Aerial practice is NEVER for people who have ZERO experience to begin on their own, because it could be dangerous if you dont know what to expect before you get on your rig. If you begin taking lessons, cross back is one of the first things you will learn!
@@TocaGirl-fm3ri Good things take time! I also couldnt get this in my first few lessons, and retried it after 1-2 years. There are so many things to learn, try other things, work on yourself at the same time, and come back here from time to time, eventually it will happen like magic!
Of course Audrey! It is so nice to have you here with us! Tag me on instagram, either a photo of you or a screenshot of your favorite aerialpractice video. I will give a shoutout to welcome you =D

Hi Eunice, what’s the length of this hammock?.
It’s 5 meters long, but I have other length too. Check out the home setup playlist !
So beautiful.
Thanks! Are you a fan of hammock too?
do you have any tips for the twist at 1:05? I just can’t twist and if I do I twist back imidiatly
DM me a video? Let me see what happen with your turn.
I got it! I had my right foot in front of the hammock instead of behind, after a few more tries doing it the right way I finely got it
What size is your hammock? My head is close to ceeling when i stand in mine- and im.5"4'
My hammock is 5feet long. My head is also very close and thats why I needed to make it longer hahah!
Can’t you do a drop from this when you get into that straddle ?
if I had more space i would!
How do you stop the aerial from swinging a lot?
