I love this quilt! My mom at 97 made a lot of string blocks for me. I wanted to set up the blocks so they pop. This is it! She quit making blocks just before she turned 98. I want to get the top made so she can see it. She is 98 1/2 now. I have to get motivated, this is so beautiful. I am looking forward to showing it to her. Thanks! Enjoy your videos so much.
I have NEVER wanted to make a shadowbox quilt MORE than after seeing your quilt with these gorgeous crumb blocks. Spectacular! Thank you for sharing it and sharing your process.
You did great I lost my husband in January so I’m not in the mood to sew but watching you I’m getting so ready to start sewing and your wife is going to like her guilt ♥️
So sorry for your lose of your husband. When you are ready to sew again maybe you could use some of his clothes to make a comfort quilt for yourself. When my momma died 12 years ago I used her duster house dresses to make lap quilts for myself and my sisters. When I’m having a bad day or I’m sick I snuggle up in it and imagine her arms around me.
So sorry to hear about your loss Christine. When my husband died I also lost any desire to sew for awhile. I'm so happy to hear that you're thinking about jumping back into the pleasure that sewing can bring. My best wishes to you during this time. ..
This is such a lovely birthday present made out of love. I think that you made the daisy cutter for you wife as well. You have successfully started a fight between the two quilts trying for her attention. So beautiful . Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy watching your video. I have made so many crumb blocks and after seeing your "wife's b'day quilt," I think that is what I will do with my blocks. Thank you. Love all your videos. Semper Fi.
WOW..! Love your shadow quilt. This showed me how I can use up scraps for the center piece of the shadow block.! I'd also great seeing other guys quilting. Thank you for this video...!
Keep doing what your doing.. your creative emotional creations are as beautiful as you. We all carry emotional baggage but what we do with it is the thread to putting us all back together.
I already watched when you put the scrap squares together, and now the final result... WOW!... I Love it!. I'm only on my 3rd quilt, (getting addicted here😬)...can't wait to try this! 🤩... Thank you Mr!
Hello quilting marine. I came across your site by accident. I am in awe of your quilts. I saw your New York beauty quilt and you gave me incentive to do something with the blocks that I did more than four years ago. Thank you so much. Next I will use my scraps to do some crumb blocks. Thank you, and keep up the good work.
This quilt!! I have been saving this fabric here, and that one there...because I love them and don't want to cut into them. I'm finally going to make myself a quilt. Ive always made for others. Cannot wait to dive in and make an illusion. THANK YOU
Thanks for reminding us to go at our own speed 😄. I hand sew and am now working on a shadow quilt. Mostly just twin size 😉. Tell your sweet wife good job also 💗.
Sir, you are an amazing teacher. Finding something to teach and occupy my gran is a challenge. She has picked up on this pattern and has been watching over and over. This is a beautiful quilt and without a doubt will mean the world to your wife. I thank you for all you do. You are the channel we watch when we spend our time together, You have taught my gran that desire is what you need and quilting is not a gender specific and needs to be done with love.

Hi QM! Your explanation of a shadow quilt block was so clear and understandable. Thanks so much. I watched someone else's explanation and never figured out what she meant. Nor were her blocks obvious. This is the third video of yours on shadow blocks. In the first two minutes I fully comprehened. Great explanation. Thanks. Virginia in Ohio.
That is an awesome block pattern, and you did an amazing job of putting it together, as well as explaining each step. I just discovered your channel, and it's great to see a man who isn't imprisoned by the stereotypes that only women sew! Some - if not most - of the best designers are men. Keep up the good work. I haven't yet searched to see if you have more recent videos than this trilogy, but I certainly will, and I hope that you do. I am definitely a follower, as of today. Blessings! 💞
