Always loved Tales of Wells Fargo! He came to Little Rock Arkansas during the State fair which I was allowed to go to. I was just a little girl. I went down to the rail in the coliseum where Mr. Robertson was riding his beautiful horse around and he came over to where I was and shook my hand. His smile lit up the whole place for me! Such beautiful memories he gave me that day!

I attended one of his camps for boys outside of Marshall Texas, I was one of several young boys that was chosen to attend his camp for 1 free week when I was around 9 years old. I wrote a letter to explain why I wanted to attend this camp. In the letter I told Dale I wanted to attend his camp because my mother, a widow, could not afford to send me to his camp therefore I was 1 of 3 names chosen.

I still watch reruns and will keep doing so until I longer can (75+). I met Mr. Robertson in 1974 at the Heritage Horse Sale in Oklahoma City. We were standing next to each other and he just said, howdy ma'am and I in return just replied hello. I will never forget that time in my life, just a young woman bringing a mare down from Northern Missouri to have bred.

Through my friend I met Ira Little, who told me he was Dale Robertson's stockman. Ira was the father of Cleavon Little of "Blazing Saddles" fame. Little followed Robertson to California from Oklahoma.
I remember reading about Robertson's childhood affliction and recovery in the magazine that came with the Sunday Denver Post (probably Parade).

A Texas-based production group hired me to write and direct a limited series about horses. When I learned I wold work with Dale Robertson as the "Host and Narrator" I researched his background and found an amazing history! Mr. Robertson was better known to the world of various horse breeders as the breeder and owner. of winning Quartrr Horses, which he entered in the great "All American Futurity," the richest purse in horse racing at $One Million for the winner. Dale's horses had won three races at the time of production of "The American Horse and Horseman" TV series. Further, Dale's background as an actor followed his service in WW2. He had written a series for the Saturday Evening Post called "Bomber's Moon" and a Hollywood production company bought it. I assumed he would be busy and remote, as a multi-millionaire breeder and 2-3 goal polo player. NO! He was a pleasant, friendly, gentleman who put me at ease with his kind demeanor. I'm sorry to hear that his later years were difficult. /Gretchen S. Ellis, WGAw.

Always enjoyed his style of delivery of lines, probably the most handsome of men of his time, really enjoyed Tales of Wells Fargo. This is a good video, but it seems you have crammed so much dialogue, with little respect to the photos being shown, very little match up except for his role as Jim Hardy of W Fargo, but it is a fine tribute to a great actor, so I thank you for your work here. His family and fans appreciate this work.

He always looked like the kind of man you’d want to bring home to daddy. I enjoyed watching him then and today. He always looked like a man of great honor. You say he never received stardom; but his decency, and respect for women, as well as his military service and philanthropic work is stardom enough, and his legacy gives evidence to that purpose. He was also a Christian, and I bet, unlike so many otherwise great stars, he was not a racially prejudiced man like Jimmy Stewart or Walter Brennen, which in my view, makes them smaller than an ant.

Thank you for your comment and inquiry into this important character query. It has taken me a few years to learn that Walter Brennan, John Wayne and even the humble acting Jimmy Stewart were nothing like the characters they portrayed on the silver screen. To me, and as the Lord has said over and again in the scriptures, unless you love your fellow man, and have compassion for the suffering of others, you will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Life is too short on this earth, to be running around thinking that you and people who are of the same race as you are, have all the rights and that you can just go into a country which is not yours, march the inhabitants on a Trail of Tears, kill them and take their food supply away, then bring others from another country, using lies and betrayal to enslave them. In stead of these types being ashamed of how they have treated their fellow man, they manifest hate until they leave this world. Their hate, and that of many others still, today, will land them in hell. This makes those type of people smaller than an ant. These actors could have spent time on this earth using their platform for a more purposeful existence for those who were suffering so much in all aspects of their lives. But instead, they were evil, prejudiced and selfish and it was all about them I wonder how big a star they are in hell.@@zolliegraves2271

How can anyone be a Christian who does not put forth the most important of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit., which is love? I know one thing, with all of these crazy things happening all over the world, we had all better be trying to manifest the love of Go.

Ran into Dale R at a gas station in Modesto Ca. He and his driver were in a totally decked out truck with a gold horse mounted on the hood and matching horse trailer.

Dale Robertson was a very handsome man. And had a great sounding speaking voice.
