This song just reminds me of how we have these great times in our life that we wish we could go back to. But we know that now they are just memories, and sometimes they don't even seen real.
you can go back..time is traversable now and eventually for us captives of earth....we can go back at somepoint...just to the tims like this...im mot kidding in the slightest manner
every time this song comes on i pause it and watch this video instead. your video perfectly fits the song's emotional warmth, sadness, and joy. thank you for the borrowed nostalgia. never take this down!
when i was 14, i went on a family vacation to the rockies in colorado. i was super into aywkubttod at the time and listened to them a ton while we were there, and on the way to and back from. goddamn, this band is/was so good. watching this brings back so many beautiful memories. thank you, brandon.
I was searching for a clip of this song & found your video. I felt somewhat voyeuristic watching it, but couldn't stop. It's been a few years since I've been on a road trip with friends-- you may have inspired me to take one soon. Thank you.
i watched this 13 years ago...and it reminded me if a memorry that was stolen from me were i exsperienced something as beautiful and perfect as the pairing of this song and your video...but i dont know what it was or wht i did...but realizing i dont rember specifically ,made me love and hate this so mich...it always makes my cry...like im not allowed to remember her( who ever it was i drove with) cause its the saddesting ever cominh here to earth and she stsyed back in this perfection we come from...before were born here...and i think it was me that erased it cause i had a choice ,and i made a mistake and chose to forget her....pre incarnation or something...i digress
Every year or so I seek this video out because it feels so nostalgic to me which is silly because it's not me but kind of feels like a shared experience and moment in time. Something about this seems to capture the song better than anything the band could have done. Also where did the footage start? It looks like around the area I'd spend in my summers growing up, Edwardsville, Illinois. Anyways thanks for the video.
Agreed. I'm waiting for Century of Self to arrive at the moment and I hope it's good, people seem to be pretty divided about it. Bloody brilliant video as well.

awsom!!
I miss 2006 so fucking bad fuck
Something about the combination of this song with the 90s home video look makes me sad. I got issues I guess lol
(it's a legit 90's video camera. The good ol days!)
on the album, first listen to the song 'source tags and codes' and then skip back to 'how near, how far'. the transition blows my mind every time.
What happened to the girl? Do you still have that cabin? I like the video and music together. Tells a story.
somehow this went together perfectly...nice job

This is one of my top 15 songs of all time. I can't hear this without a trailing feeling of euphoria left in its wake.
