rajesh wife is very lucky to have him as her husband. Living far away from his hometown i think their in-laws as well as his wife should appreciate his effort.
omg Dr Rajesh have such an hardship life!! i admire him so much. He doesn't have a lot of time for himself even he works a lot at the hospital, he did a volunteer work and play with her daughter, i'm really impressed. I think his wife need to accept her daughter is half nepali too and try to show her more about his culture more than those studies. I'm afraid that the little girl, would dislike the culture of his father when she becomes teenager and wouldn't accept how she is.
They're such a well rounded family. Rajesh and his wife have different styles of teaching Sera but both of their methods combined are going to give her many skills as she gets older.
The wife needs to respect his way of eating too. She's a bit.... but he's like an angel down to earth. Great role model. And I feel like the wife, she's only does things in her ways.

I feel so sorry for kids in korea, its not necessary to be perfect in everything. I mean she can learn the piano if she wants to not because she has to. Same goes for learning english, its okay if your pronunciation or grammar is not perfect, you learn by making mistakes and speaking more and more. I think the reason that many koreans are not great in English even after so much investment is that they are afraid to make mistakes and so do not have any practice in speaking.
The problem is that English is required for the college entrance exams... The English is harder than the SAT and is one of the 3 mandatory subjects. (Math, English, Korean)

i don't think media promote dark skin as unattractive. just that Koreans tend to have many lighter skin celebrities. so all their makeup are matched for fair skin. she is growing up in a Korean society and she wants to fit in as well as look beautiful in Korean standard.
@@blah4194 Actually almost all Asian countries have this problem about whiter you are, prettier you are. It is also kids making fun of her that is doing to her.

Based on the comments, I was expecting tiger mom to be bad but she was ok. She seemed to still carry a resentment toward her husband not being around during her early years of motherhood. I strongly hope their daughter embraces the color of her skin because it is beautiful as is she! Of course it goes without saying that Dr. Rajesh is an amazing human being!!!
What a great man! Nice caring smart! Especially when it comes to educating his kid. No kids should go through learning stress at such a young age. Kids need to go play!!
I agree with Rajesh so much! I was brought up like Sera! I remember my mom gave me books to read when I was just 1 years old although I'm pretty sure I didn't understand anything. I started to learn how to write when I was 2 and started doing basic math when I was 3, and piano classes when I was 4. During primary school, I would attend cram schools and more music classes - I picked up another instrument, art classes and dance. I had to practice my instruments for at least one hour a day each, and I had to do my school work and cram school work. I didn't even get good grades. My dad, on the other hand, was like an angel, he organised family outings, taught me how to do housework...etc. I hated my mom for doing this but she stopped after we moved overseas so I could attend high school elsewhere, but she told me the reason why she was being so pushy about my academics and stuff. This is because some of the Asian families (like my mom) experienced poverty and they strongly believe that education is the only way they can escape poverty. My uncles worked really hard so my mom could receive education. Now mom's family is living comfortably. But seriously though, for the sake of Sera's mental health in the future, the mom shouldn't keep pushing her to work so hard, Sera's brain is still developing and these things can affect her mental health/ behaviour in the future, especially her confidence levels :< I hope Rajesh can guide her well and I hope Sera grows up well, she looks like she has a promising future :) Good luck to the family!
He is such good person , world need person like him ❤️ i think being hard working is good but it can be nice if he spend more time with family , i had many friends which has problem with thair parents cuz when they were kids thair parents spend most of thair time as doctor not a father or mother . Doctor is really handsome and nice.wife and mother in law is arrogant towards him.its for sure he hails from good family from Nepal.and I don't understand why every Korean shows say that Asian countries are poor.
How did mother in law made him to become doctor. His half of the education and hardworking was done in INDIA and NEPAL before he met her. He came to KOREA only for master and Phd. Master, phd and the competitive exam is the final round of our education to reach our goal, Even me i just finished my master and i am also preparing for competitive exam and i know how hard it is so saying that he became doctor because of her is funny. Lol. The mother is hilarious. Her husband is a doctor. A freaking DOCTOR!! Obviously he knows how to study waaaaay better than his wife. She should listen to him, seriously.
They seem like a sweet family but it is strange that he has to even struggle with family vs volunteer work. I think it might be difficult just because his wife is in a traditional housewife role but if she was also a relief worker or inclined to help others in that way they could all do it as a family. I hope they can do that in the future because it would be a good way to spend time together. Also, I hope that Sera's love for her father also grows into a love for Nepal.
i thought there will be a struggle, b/c he wants to do much work as possible. at the end, they even said that after he graduated from school, he had 2yrs of free time, and he used it all on volunteering. the wife was upset that he didn't plan time with her. in the show, we see how busy he was but he constantly taking work (translating work) even during work. he great doctor/volunteer/father/husband but just need to find a way to balance it.
She sucks, she said she is frustrated because they can't go on vacation all year because he volunteers so much!?! He’s a good doctor with a heart of gold...fyi that mother in law knew what she was doing when she set her eyes on her son in law🧐😶...your daughter I hope learns and appreciate her beautiful Culture of her Dad and skin she’s in!!...
I think the wife should understand that although korean educational system is tough and will be even tougher sera seems like a snart grl. Shes got it in her genes. Having his dad pass tge medical board exam despite not knowing the korean langyage from the start...man smhe sure is very smart. I hope she also enjoys fun things with her mom..but tgen again evey loving mom has the tendency to be strict. I think her not wanting her color is way more alarming.
This is great but they really need to tell her she's beautiful and her skin is beautiful. She's saying food tastes bad because it's dark, it's terrible. Don't just laugh it off, take action. Especially mum whom she probably looks at and compares herself to.
i don't think there is anything they can do at this moment. she is still too young to understand. father even said kid was pretty but she doesn't accept it. she probably wants to fit in. she will probably grow out of it later on. if she doesn't well, she gets a therapy. (i also wanted to have blond hair & blue eyes so....)
tbh this rajesh reminds me a lot of my late father who passed away 7 years ago and the mother reminds me of my own mother. it's almost like glimpsing into my own childhood. i wish this beautiful family the best. :)
the-spring-lady Ah, thanks for that tidbit! I've read Hindi cinema often uses songs from elsewhere on the subcontinent, but I never knew it was a Nepali song.
There's an irritating dismissal of his voluntary work to his fellow Nepalis! As I understand, he's a doctor as well and his spare time is limited, so why can't the domineering MIL and wife understand that? He's trying his best as it is and is already very selfless! Goodness, too many times in this series do I see interfering, intolerant spouses and/or in-laws, where the foreigner's culture seems ignored. A good lesson for those with delusions from k-dramas, I suppose.
so you want your dad/husband to stay out all day long? they want to spend time with him. the kid even cry cause, he was busy with work. personally his work is good but he need to find good balance. if he continue to take more work, she will feel more distance to her father. right now might be good, cause the doctor can come in any time and sees his daughter at home. just you wait, the kid will grow and she will be busy as well with school work, friends, and club activities. he does good work but he need to find balance between family and work.
it is natural to be something that they are not. majority of us are sensitive about this because it dealt with skin color. when i was a kid i want to be a princess who had blue eyes & blond hair. it is not a big deal unless she can't grow out of it.
When his wife said that she was the one who mainly took care of Sera and for him to basically butt out had me kind of upset, because even if he might not be able to be there that often because of his job, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care about her, so I believe that he should get a say in how she is taught. In my opinion, they can teach her some English or possibly Nepali so she can communicate with her father’s side of the family, but she is still very young. Knowing second grade math when she’s still in kindergarten seems a bit too much for me, but I am from America so this is just my opinion. She knows the times tables in kindergarten when I didn’t learn them until third grade. And I am also of the opinion that she shouldn’t have to learn piano unless it is something that interests her, but I do understand that South Korea is very competitive for colleges, but I feel as if she deserves a bit more time to be a child. Of course, my opinions are only based on this one episode, things may have changed since this was aired, and I mean no criticism towards the family, Sera seems like an amazing child.
As a "white-skinned" myself it makes me really sad to see how easily people overlook even in their own families the importance of values like devotion to the profession, willingness to help other people for free and just having a great sence of humor and being easygoing. That guy is just amazing and he could be a real role model for his daughter.
I don't blame the mom for teaching her child at a young age, I wish my mom took the time to teach me that stuff, then maybe I would have learned it faster.
that mother in law is horrible. Like he's not a title doctor or a paycheck doctor. He's a vocational one. If you're not in medicine you don't understand what is volunteer work. She push him to" become a doctor" and know you're nagging hell no. Poor girl, that's not education is slavery.
you do know that he didn't have to do all that right? he just have to give up on marrying his wife. who would want to give their daughter away to someone with no future. He had NO money, NO good job, and NO good education. the doctor even said he wouldn't give his daughter to some one like him(past version). you can call it a nagging, but she help him literally studied with him to become what he is today (talk more about it on different show).
I'm a Filipina and the way Rajesh eating is the way we eat sometimes specially when we have a family reunion or picnic and I like beef and chicken curry Filipino style
I bet the girl would get mad when she’s older and have the ability to protest. I can already imagine some scenes from dramas about the outcome of this kind of mother
the husband was right about not to let their daughter too early. but she didn't listen to him. the little girl seemed stressed out but her mom kept pushing her.
some Asian cultures are like that, they mostly want doctors and engineers for husbands for their daughters. What matters is that he's a good husband and father. And I'm glad he accomplished his dreams.
i believe when he wanted to be with his wife, he had nothing, NO money, NO good job, and NO good education. he became doctor, in help of his mother in law. she actually studied with him. (know this cause i watch different show & they talk about it in more detail). in this show he talk about how he had nothing, so he wouldn't give his daughter some one like him(before he got stable job). wife family took him when he had nothing, even allowed him to marry their precious daughter. in a way they gave him a chance in a better life.
I don't know how Mother in law made him doctor. He said he studied in INDIA and NEPAL and came to SK for Master which means the half of his education was without his mother in law. And the master and the competitive exam is the final round to reach his dream to be doctor. Nomatter what his mother in law said if hhe was not brilliant pr hard working he would never become doctor. Even he himself smile when his in law said that he made her doctor.
the mother is fine. It's always the viewrs who don't know them at all judging the family after one episode. Of course the two got married cuz they loved each other. Stop criticizing every single word they put out of their mouth guys...just enjoy the show
wow do they really prepare students from home to study before even starting school 😅 😞 I mean kids are supposed to play and have fun in their childhood with their family and friends... I guess my parents were care free
Its not like nepalese start studying only in high school and play all the time in their childhood Tbh its harder as child in nepal. All the students have to learn both english and nepali, .They remember all the characters and most of the words till pre school that is at the age of 6.
i'm sorry if my words would be kind of rude or else but yeah....i think their kids gonna be super duper smart, true or not i will always supporting on their family's happiness forever.
Wow I coompletely agree with the father. I respect him so much for his point of view that kids should be kids and play and have fun, not become like cogs in a wheel in this dystopia of a modern society we live in. This is the mindset we have in Scandinavia as well, and we are still doing pretty well I'd say. We are humans, not slaves. All the Nepal people on the show so far have been kind of interesting, I kinda like their personalities but of course it's different from person to person, but so far they seem more grounded while still pursuing their dreams. I feel like the rest of the world is going mad when it comes to working. We should work to live, not live to work. Work smart, not hard.

that moment when they said Dola re Dola bollywood ( Indian) song as a Nepali song.
princesaforeva I feel you... I was like that's not Nepali it's bollywood
The Devdas song? Yeah, even *I* know that's from India (Hindi cinema).
the-spring-lady Ah, thanks for that tidbit! I've read Hindi cinema often uses songs from elsewhere on the subcontinent, but I never knew it was a Nepali song.
I don't know about it's origin but the version played on Show is not Nepali but Indian one with hindi lyrics in Bollywood Movie devdas.
princesaforeva Oh! I haven't got that far into the video yet (around 11 mins mark), as I have a slow connection :-D
A good lesson for those with delusions from k-dramas, I suppose.
so you want your dad/husband to stay out all day long? they want to spend time with him. the kid even cry cause, he was busy with work. personally his work is good but he need to find good balance.
if he continue to take more work, she will feel more distance to her father. right now might be good, cause the doctor can come in any time and sees his daughter at home. just you wait, the kid will grow and she will be busy as well with school work, friends, and club activities.
he does good work but he need to find balance between family and work.
i am happy seing a nepali man enjoying indian bollywood song
i felt bad for kid because she wants to change skin colour
it is natural to be something that they are not. majority of us are sensitive about this because it dealt with skin color. when i was a kid i want to be a princess who had blue eyes & blond hair. it is not a big deal unless she can't grow out of it.
really proud to see hardworking Nepali doktor in Korea but his wife and wife mother are a bit annoying tho
Dok
Korean old ladies are so cute. I can't stop smiling when they are talking.
Wife doesn’t love him... She looks unhappy. He is lovely.
yeah there are lots of Nepali working in Korea
hope I can see more on this show..💓💓💓
Seems like the first time she came to work with food. Sarah crying is indicative of which parent she loves most... in my opinion... and I can tell why
this episode made me want to work harder :) I hope they stay happy as they are :). wow I'm still amazed,
i love understanding nepali in this because i always have to look for subtitles.
As a "white-skinned" myself it makes me really sad to see how easily people overlook even in their own families the importance of values like devotion to the profession, willingness to help other people for free and just having a great sence of humor and being easygoing. That guy is just amazing and he could be a real role model for his daughter.
This is just so wholesome.
I don't blame the mom for teaching her child at a young age, I wish my mom took the time to teach me that stuff, then maybe I would have learned it faster.
I stopped watching drama but that program so addictive :( ;)
that mother in law is horrible.
Well said, but could you please change your profile picture? That scared the shit out of me.
The way he was eating by just emptying the plate so nicely ...I also do so...
In the Philippines we also eat with our hands
Abby Same in most countries in Africa
Abby we do it too in Indonesia
I'm a Filipina and the way Rajesh eating is the way we eat sometimes specially when we have a family reunion or picnic and I like beef and chicken curry Filipino style
He is the type of doctor that i aspire to be!
i loved this episode, i wish all foreigners make it in Korea... fighting!
I bet the girl would get mad when she’s older and have the ability to protest. I can already imagine some scenes from dramas about the outcome of this kind of mother
the husband was right about not to let their daughter too early. but she didn't listen to him. the little girl seemed stressed out but her mom kept pushing her.
So basically, the mom acxepted him for what he got not who he is..
some Asian cultures are like that, they mostly want doctors and engineers for husbands for their daughters. What matters is that he's a good husband and father. And I'm glad he accomplished his dreams.
Haley J she let him live with their family for 15 years. Theres no need to such a harsh bitch
Haley J but on the other hand...she cared for him and let him live with her family, she helped him become a doctor.
i believe when he wanted to be with his wife, he had nothing, NO money, NO good job, and NO good education. he became doctor, in help of his mother in law. she actually studied with him.
The song Rajesh sir played is an Indian song named "Dola re Dola" from movie Devdas ...😀
the mother is fine. It's always the viewrs who don't know them at all judging the family after one episode. Of course the two got married cuz they loved each other. Stop criticizing every single word they put out of their mouth guys...just enjoy the show
Wah..
Nepalian eats like indonesian.
I am indonesian. we're comfortable to eat snacks or rice using hands.
I feel like most Nepali kids are always attached to their dad more if it's a girl. She is like that too 😍😍
wow do they really prepare students from home to study before even starting school 😅 😞 I mean kids are supposed to play and have fun in their childhood with their family and friends... I guess my parents were care free
After watching these shows, there is one lesson to learn for sure...don't marry a Korean woman...
Haha I know right? A lot of the shows display a great foreign husband and the Korean wife is not fit to be a good parent.
Mo Mo You should see other episode Muslim husband beat up Korean wife. Chinese wife treat like shit Korean husband .. relax buddy.. just TV show.
@@Dingo7423 what muslim husband beat his wife thats a lie he wasnt even muslim he was hindu
Sang Dunn he was a Hindu lol , not all brown ppl are Muslims, educated yourself 💁♀️🤦♀️
@@srali7609 what ep was that omg
Proud to be Gorkhs Nepali.
Its not like nepalese start studying only in high school and play all the time in their childhood
Tbh its harder as child in nepal. All the students have to learn both english and nepali, .They remember all the characters and most of the words till pre school that is at the age of 6.
너무 자랑스러워요 감사합니다
I hope i can be a great doctor as he is, ok i better start to study now
finally a nepalese...
iffy feeling about the mother-in-law. I hope I don't get one like that in the future lol
such a nice episode. loved it.
i'm sorry if my words would be kind of rude or else but yeah....i think their kids gonna be super duper smart, true or not i will always supporting on their family's happiness forever.
The look the husband and wife gave eachother at 39:54 was incredible 😅😂
Oh my god I had no idea someone from my country would appear in this show ahahah
The mother-in-law is a real ball buster!
대단하시네요!
Damn Rajesh was handsome when he was younger! 🤩
