A couple of black guys named Noob & Awesome watch the classic movie Citizen Kane(1941). This movie is as great as it has been hyped up to be. This is a first time blind reaction. We have never seen this before.

I know exactly what dude is talking about, with the green plastic visor and the old school cash register to add up everything, the kind with the lever on the side that dings when you pull it down. Jim Carrey did a bit like that in the Mask, at the CoCo Bongo club when the villain, Dorian Tyrell asks him where his money is at. And the Mask is basically a real-life cartoon. But I believe poker dealers also have been known to wear those. I have no clue why but I'm kind of curious now 😅

Great reaction and commentary. Love when you watch classics. There’s a really good one called The Heiress (1949) you may want to check out. I think you would both find it really interesting

So first of all Orson Wells was the man behind the legendary Radio Broadcast of War of the Worlds that brought half the country into hysteria thinking aliens were actually invading only for it to be revealed as a practical joke,
The reason Rosebud is a sled is because Kane missed the simpler times of being with his mother on their land and all the riches and treasures he acquired meant nothing to him compared to the childhood he was taken from,
Also Steven Speilberg actually has one of the unburned sleds when he won it at auction,
While this film is considered a legendary classic today it was not shown any love on first release as one man by the name od William Randolph Hearst the famous newspaper mogul (who is also the reason Marijuana is illegal) saw 5he film was very similar in chronocling his life and did everything he could to attempt to stop the release of the film especially going to RKO asking them to not have it released- it was though, but wasn't shown at any of the theaters he owned and when the film was up for many Oscars he had it so people would boo whenever the name of the film was mentioned and only won A Single Award for Best Original Screenplay which Wells wrote, but that Oscars Year is considered one of the worst ever because Kane didn't win Best Picture it lost to a drama called How Green Was My Valley. Also that would be the only Oscar Orson Wells would ever win and after this film basically every film he made after was either cut down behind his back or altered to non recognizability such as:
Magnifcent Ambersons (originally over 130 minutes cut down to under 100 and given a happy ending),
Lady From Shanghai (originally over 140 minutes cut to under 90),
Touch of Evil and Mr. Arkadin (these two are intresting cases as restoration for both were done in an attempt to bring them closer to how Wells intended. Obviously neither is fully complete, but both are closee than they were on first release),
Then in the late 70’s the Oscars decided to bestow an Honorary Oscar for Orson, but knowing it was just a cheap attempt at any apology he wasn't there to accept it and instead had his director friend John Huston go and speak for him and the video is on youtube and he basically lays it into them.

0:37 the line you're looking for was "we will sell no wine before its time". Old/big Welles was the pitch-man for Paul Masson Wine

This is a movie you can come back to and find something new. The dotting of the Miss on the boarding house with the snowball to show the mother ran the show to the many statues to represent he was surrounded by people but he was alone.

I don't think low eye queue blacks can handle Citizen Kane. It's too high brow.
