It was great to hear your dads opinions and it was a great start to ease him into the questions. I do believe having pre-questions will help with understanding why he is the way he is, for example asking about his relationship with his parents, how did they show him love, did the way they show him love make him feel resented or safe, how does he like to be shown love, and also explaining how yall like to be shown love. It's important to validate his experience because that will make him feel more open. In addition, explaining the generational difference, generational trauma, and how change isn't always seen negatively especially when change is going to make your children feel loved and seen. Change is uncomfortable and it's needed to be the best version for yourself as well as others. Thank you for sharing your family!
As a Capricorn I will say saying ‘’you’re not emotional’’ makes us shut down even more! And not want to show emotions. Like her saying ‘’even when you show emotions its not even real’’?? That won’t make her want to cry around you again. Try to just make a safe space instead of making it feel so critical bc no one is born not wanting to be emotional, it’s more about making her feel safe.

I think your dad might not even understand the reason for him not being affectionate with you guys. His upbringing has a lot to do with how he is with you guys. He might’ve not received that from his parents or family so to him it’s out of the norm. To us it seems like something like so “obvious” like of course you need to show your children love but because we’re so open to healing & learning to make sure we can do the best for our children. And what we felt like we didn’t receive from our parents. And our children will eventually feel like they didn’t receive something from us that they want to eventually give their children.

I definitely can relate so much to this podcast. I grew up in a Mexican/ Hispanic household where my dad will rarely show any type of emotion towards his kids or let us know when we were doing a “good job”. You can tell your dad is really proud of the 3 of y’all. Ofc all y’all are in different paths but y’all still working hard towards y’all’s goals. I wish Daphne would’ve express herself a little more but over all this podcast was good! I would love a part 2 with your dad, Maybe go more in depth with the questions or have us the supporters ask y’all questions ❤

I’m just letting y’all know .. my sister was crying every month on her period, calling off of school. She missed so much school that she was failing. She would vomit and faint on her period. She went a long time like that because the doctors told her cramps are normal and some are more intense for others. Turns out she had a whole ass cyst on her ovaries FOR YEARS. She got surgery to get it removed and it literally changed her life. She don’t vomit or get insane cramps anymore. I’m not saying that’s the case for everyone but I’m saying that it’s not uncommon. The amount of people who also have a cyst on their ovaries and have no idea. They just think it’s their cramps…
