This is completely accurate! I only used two for the fun. The fastest run was entirely done in fourth gear. The Mustang sounds good enough to make up for it, though.
You have me wondering what gear my 97 NSX will live in at the Dragon slightly moded to 315 I should have enough torque to pick one and adjust for traffic.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Have done the Dragon many times in my 2011 S197 and will be back there this June. Interested in know more about your camera and setup. What do you have it mounted to, almost looks like it's either on your head or chest? I normally use my iPhone with a window mount or have used aGoPro mounted to the outside mirror. Thanks again!
Nice video! Good driving! It would’ve been nice to have the speed posted to see how fast you actually were going. How fast were you going at the fastest point?
I'm not really sure how fast I was going. The Dragon isn't really about "how fast can you go?". It's more about maintaining that speed through the corners. You may notice that I rarely shift, because I don't need more power, I need more grip 😆. The best run I did was almost entirely 4th gear. The Coyote has plenty of torque in that gear, plus it saved me some gas, and helped keep temps in check.
@@PaseoPulse92 Well thank you for posting it. I know it’s not about the speed but it look like you were going at it pretty good. Thanks for posting the video and responding
@@PaseoPulse92 bruh very nice driving and im def a euro and jdm guy but one of these s550s on the mountain looks too fun, although for my next car I will most likly hopefully be getting a bmw
Depends on how well you can actually drive, and tires. Tires are king. In this video I'm running through the Tail of the Dragon with a Camaro SS 1LE and Civic Type R. Its a very handling intensive road but the Mustang is doing just fine.
@@PaseoPulse92 Thank you for responding, I just didn't know about back road handling aspects, because I've driven a few S550s but it's been around town or on slow and gradually curvy roads. Thanks
@@siahbryant6651 numb, a bit scary when you’re at limit since there’s a good amount of vagueness in the rear. The front end is really good but the rear end not so much. I “touge” in a mustang so I try to push the limits on backroads
i have 15 gt pp. these s550 mustangs handle very good but difficult to feel where the limit of grip is. you are basically reacting to the movements, not able to actively anticipate loosing traction. very fast but not precise. similar to c6 corvette handling. to get precision handling need to start with a much lighter car then add horsepower, or just get expensive car with precise handling + power (porsche). mustang do 'everything' well though and low cost. F80/F82 M3/M4 are one step higher cost than mustang and lower than porsche too.
This is definitely something to be put on my bucket list
My roads are like this anyways lol I went where it's close and was like is that it.
Nice video bro. I've been down the dragon with my bike and now its time to take My S550 6 speed. Looking forward to it even more after watching this~
I feel like the guy in civic had the most fun. This mustang is so overpowered for those kind of roads... literally u were using only 2 gears

Thanks fam! It's a Sony fdr x3000, mounted on my head with a Go Pro mount. Keep your tires clean!

What suspension did you have on it?
