I think of COS as more Japanese architectural style and absolutely love it. The quality is very good. Fabrics are thick and weighty in a good way. I bought an orange trapeze style dress there many years ago and it is still the one I reach for as soon as the cold (as cold as Sydney 🇦🇺 gets) goes away. I’m one of the few that walks around like a neon sign in winter. The brighter, the better ( and I don’t do leisure wear outside my house unless it is a gym).

I don’t know if this point has been made yet but I think the crushed pleated cape by COS is polyester because of the pleating and that might be where some of the cost is going! I know brands like Comme des Garçons and Issey Miyake use polyester for garments because natural materials just won’t make the shapes they’re trying to design. Still very expensive for polyester, but there’s some innovation going in to it to make the price more justifiable!
