Final Shape selling less than Lightfall was so surreal, but I guess in retrospect it makes sense. Bungie did a terrible job with the story, first season was horrible filler with an unnecessary death. Season of the Deep was okay I guess. Season of the Witch…best season by far ! I didn’t like Wish because it was "find this egg" almost every week and it was sooo long because of the delay. Witness Origin shouldn’t have been hidden in a season and should’ve been part of Lightfall. All that on top of Bungie burning their good will with the players to the ground. This game has no big future after Final Shape and I don’t think people are gonna give Marathon a fair chance at this rate.

It’s legitimately impressive how the good will Witch Queen built up was pissed away in Lightfall and Final Shape suffered due to it. There's just such a discrepancy in the logic of business executives. It really comes across like they're out of touch. Companies should just start paying their executives less because of how much they're tanking businesses.

no, the ceo is the one who makes the decisions. the board can tell him what they want him to do and vote to replace him if he makes them unhappy, but ultimately the ceo is not required to listen to the board of directors. for example the now deceased previous ceo of nintendo (can't remember his name at the moment) was quite famous for often telling them to pound sand.
Kip a CEO isn't "the exec of PR" that's literally the Public Relations director, or half a dozen other titles like community manager, customer relations, etc . the CEO is the Chief Operating Officer. They are the head of the board. they're the single most powerful employee in a company, with the only person being close being the CFO, or Chief Financial Officer who's basically in charge of all the money. the only thing that can cause a company to do things a CEO doesn't want are A. Owners, B. a majority of shareholders, C. the Law, and D. a majority of the Board turning on them, and D. complete employee revolt. sometimes even those don't work if they're entrenched enough.
I was under the impression that they had equal say to the other members on the board of directors. If I'm wrong, thank you for pointing this out, and I'll do my research to fix misinformation I've been spreading.
In all fairness it can vary a bit, with # of votes allocated, general company structure, if the CEO is allowed to own stock and how much they do, if the CEO is also owner in the case of smaller businesses, etc. Though it's usually safe to assume they're the captain of the ship, so to say.
Here, from the starter days of both D1 and D2, I witnessed the contrast between D1 managing to have its content intact while D2 Thanos snapped the content I actually spent money on. It was truthfully rigged from the start.
LF definitely contributed to killing D2, but so did actions like Justin Truman's presentation at GDC. I didn't come back for FS after seeing stuff like that.
I stopped playing destiny 2 when I finished final shape try get the exotic class item but failed didn’t try again and then my helldivers craze took over the destiny 2 void in my gamer heart i love destiny 2 it one of my favorite games I might get the itch to play destiny 2 again but with this dumpster fire of the company probably not……………………….. Like i mean come bungie you made Halo and look how that turned out and some people want you to take halo back but with the chaos right now i think that not an option anymore
1:27 - 1:38 Oh yeah, he not kidding, and the rest of the stuff as well, i never dislike Lightfall, I thought lightfall was enjoyable front to back, i will agree that compared to beyond light, it's not bad, but darn, Seeing this made me sad, and it doesn't help Paul and his stupid idea
As someone who stopped playing destiny solely because of lightfall yeah it fucked destiny as for as far as I know from until they originally announced it till the season they announced it in the price for lightfall was over 100 usd before tax (idk how long the price was like this I know it was when they first announced it cause I saw it and said fuck you)
@exonymousprime I love the Raids. Outside of Raids, and story progression, I don't really find enjoyment in the game. I've moved on to Elite Dangerous to see if the game is going to turn it around. But, more than likely, D2 is just going to continue to go downhill and into terminal care.
@KipReacts I like playing raids and some other stuff as well, but hard to when everyone is constantly getting kicked over and over or bugs out constantly where you can't hardly play them. Yeah, I believe that as well, it's going to keep getting worse until it's completely dead and probably going to be the same with Bungie itself as well.
@exonymousprime I see Bungie just being dissolved and consumed by Sony. I don't see any good end for Bungie, and haven't for a while. One of the inherent problems with D2 is that it's so restrictive, and doesn't do what things say they do. Well and Bubble used to stack. It was a Raid meta. Do they now? No. Did it explicitly say that they don't stack in game? If so, not that I've found. Do Tractor and Div stack? Well, no. Because only the larger debuff is applied. I don't remember a tutorial explaining this. Why is the Hunter mad at the Warlock for dropping Well? Your Radiant overrode his buff and nerfed his damage by getting rid of his Radiant. But, that's just a Radiant buff? We'll, yes and no. Well and Golden Gun Radiant are different, and Well Radiant overrides Golden Gun Radiant, sleazing your Hunter out of damage. Wolfpack Rounds make all Rockets do more damage? Well, Chill Clip Rockets don't get Wolfpack Rounds because balalancing. When I go and play an older game like Diablo II, which I had never done before, and praise the game on actually doing what the items say they do, we have a core problem with the game. I'm all for balancing and tweaking BIS weapons and degenerative strategies. I disagree at a fundamental level with items not doing what they say they do, and requiring external meta knowledge to be able to just play the game efficiently. Not at a top 10% level, just being able to play the game as intended. It's wild that Bungie wonders why newer players have a hard time getting into the game. Words as written, say what you mean, Bungie.
Destiny 3 was never planned because this IS Destiny 3. Destiny 2 was the base game, the Red War, and all the paid DLC expansions for it like Mars and Mercury. Destiny 2 was released, cost about $230 when all was said and done (just for content, zero cosmetics), and was then deleted. They erased Destiny 2 from existence. You cannot play it anymore. It's gone. This game, this free to play game with all these temporary seasonal stories that go away and vault all of their content with them when they do? This is Destiny 3. You've been playing Destiny 3 for years. There will be no Destiny 4. There will be just this, until Sony eventually takes it out back and shoots it, and uses the IP to make a mobile gacha game.
3 words: Get over it. Your ONLY real choice is accepting THIS is the state if ALL bussiness niw, because Economic hierarchy us the ONLY driving ambition behind wanting and attaining leadership in bussijess. When your making 5-6 figures annually, you are just NOT obligated to give a damn outside of your life. So long as you HAVE that right, your expected to take full advantage irregardoess if those expecting are your best of friends or harshest of critics. Bungies not alone in this. EVERY company does this. Literally EVERY one. Why? Because nobody can tell them no
5:09 Fuckin Facts! Actiblizz is in the shit due to mismanagement, Bungie has been in that shitter since Season of Plunder, EA is... EA, and it says something when the only goddamn good games anymore are from Indies and FromSoft. I hated souls games, and when I felt burned out on D2 during Plunder I went to play Elden Ring, I got burnt out during Light fall and I went to Palworld, and now I'm burnt out of D2 after Final Shape and my ass is between Shadow of the Erdtree, Lies of P, and RobotBros (co-op FPS Rouge like, I can recommend it) instead of thinking of those train wrecks. The Exects's 9/10 times don't know shit about their own demographic, much less their own game. They need paycuts instead of this mass firing BS that happens every goddamn time.

no, the ceo is the one who makes the decisions. the board can tell him what they want him to do and vote to replace him if he makes them unhappy, but ultimately the ceo is not required to listen to the board of directors. for example the now deceased previous ceo of nintendo (can't remember his name at the moment) was quite famous for often telling them to pound sand.
Interesting. I had that information wrong then. Thanks!
Kip a CEO isn't "the exec of PR" that's literally the Public Relations director, or half a dozen other titles like community manager, customer relations, etc
.
the CEO is the Chief Operating Officer.
Is this a re-upload or am I just smooth brain?
Not that I'm complaining. Love the skeletor reactions
There was a second round of layoffs. The video references that, actually.
@@KipReacts oh so just smooth brained. Had some major dajavu 🤣
@@isaiahmuzio9656 It's all good! Especially when it's Bungie making the same mistakes.
I was both happy and sad that he didn't mention warframe as a D2 analog
In fairness, TFD has something that Destiny 2 doesn't.
Gratuitous butts.

As a D1 Beta vet it hurts like hell…I just…sigh
Here, from the starter days of both D1 and D2, I witnessed the contrast between D1 managing to have its content intact while D2 Thanos snapped the content I actually spent money on. It was truthfully rigged from the start.
LF definitely contributed to killing D2, but so did actions like Justin Truman's presentation at GDC. I didn't come back for FS after seeing stuff like that.
Actually I think part of the problem is that the expansion was 50 or 100 dollars.
I dont even play Destiny 2 and these are hilarious to me
Kip would you ever be willing to react to some funny videos from the vtubers Kirsche and Pippa Pipkin? :)
All the people who worked on halo left bungie. There's no original member left
All the people that made halo are pretty much gone. It's a shell of its former self....
Destiny 1? Man wheres the damn sparrow horn?
Same I started grinding Fortnite at the start of the new season and in 3 days im at lvl 45. Its just sad really.
These big companies are run on nepotism, what do you expect?
Playing warframe and loving it more than destiny two
I want to see Marathon's development tho... Why bungie why?!

Oh yeah, he not kidding, and the rest of the stuff as well, i never dislike Lightfall, I thought lightfall was enjoyable front to back, i will agree that compared to beyond light, it's not bad, but darn, Seeing this made me sad, and it doesn't help Paul and his stupid idea
I need to find a clan.. mines dead.. need the coop focus to get rank 8..
Poor management destroyed a great game, you see it so often these days.
The only thing I hate in destiny is all the parcore. Edit: Ha Ha Butts.
You're so cute kip :3 💜
>///<
Thank you.
@@KipReacts ^-x you're welcome 💞
As someone who stopped playing destiny solely because of lightfall yeah it fucked destiny as for as far as I know from until they originally announced it till the season they announced it in the price for lightfall was over 100 usd before tax (idk how long the price was like this I know it was when they first announced it cause I saw it and said fuck you)
If I'm spending that much it'll be on a new game along with a season pass for said game not a fucking dlc fuck that
Destiny 2 is just awful and has been for so many years, idk people still play or hold out hope for it, or the company both is just a hot dumpster fire
There will be just this, until Sony eventually takes it out back and shoots it, and uses the IP to make a mobile gacha game.
i gave up on destiny 2 1 month after release
Wow...that's kinda sad... tho I wasn't there for the start of d2. But I've seen it grow
Not to downplay your position, Kip, but ai think you being in the top 10 is because there's so many people that aren't playing anymore.
HR is worthless anyway
Warframe > Destiny
