@@damionmandy7978 AC Unity gives you more control by giving you more options of movement. A button dedicated to freerunning down makes it so much better. The parkour in AC1-Rev is sticky in some places, leaving you stuck in a certain position, and then not sticky enough at others. Ever tried to jump from a roof to a rope and ezio jumps 45 degrees off and lands in the street? Its inconsistant.
@Stolas XB in unity you can side eject whenever you want and back eject doesn't work as well either. Also Arno feels "laggy" because of all the animation you tend to put inputs in ahead of him

Why side ejects should never EVER have been removed. The amount of flow they add is a difference of night and day. Off topic but is this isn't vanilla AC2 right? I don't remember the game looking this vibrant. Venice and Monterigioni especially look really nice
The parkour in this game is honestly phenomenal, doesn’t have to be all flashy moves and animations likes unity, I do love unity parkour I’ll admit, but there’s something about parkouring around all the different beautiful locations as a local Italian man that just hits different
Arno may have the flashiest parkour but Ezio had the fastest. Arno moves like a dude at peak physical form and technique but Ezio basically flys over the rooftops, scales a flat wall in two steps, and does so with enough armor and weaponry to arm a militia.
such pleasure to watch your videos. parkour in the first 4 games remains the one with most depth in the series, no matter how realistic they make it in the the other games, this one is the most complex and satisfying system of them all

This game is insanely fun once you master the parkour. Sometimes, I just tackle a guard and run away with the entire Florence garrison at my tail - leaping from building to building, throwing money into the crowds to slow them down, hiring thieves/mercenaries/courtesans to fight them. It's super fun.
I recently finished this game for the first time and I loved it. ive never really played the original games too much but I remembered playing ac2 a bit when I was younger, and so I hopped back into it again for a play-through. Was not disappointed, the parkour system is impeccable, I can't tell you how many times I just walked up to a guard and got their attention to just run along the rooftops of Venice with the entire force on my tail and doing fancy side ejects that don't really make sense as to why i did them but they were so cool that i didn't care. amazing game, excited to see what the other games in this franchise have in store for their parkour system.
0:15, 4:05 he could have just jumped without side ejecting but, he might have wanted to put a little skill into it which I respect. (I do not mean to send any hate torwards his parkour gameplay, so I do respect that he wants to put skill into it)

I don’t know if anyone knows but you can actually leap of faith backwards (i dont mean back eject) the way u do this is by holding on to a wall, let go and it should do a sweet animation ive never seen b4, it’s not useful but still cool...

Okay, this video is pretty cool and awesome. But I have a question. People say the AC games 1-Rev have the best parkour (no doubt, I have played all of them, and I know it), but I have noticed something in Revelations. When I start the wallrun animation, I can cancel and side/back eject, no problem there. I can quickly side/back eject after the hook has latched onto the wall, but I can't side/back eject when the hook is out of the bracer and is about to latch onto the wall. Also, I have to wait for half a second for Ezio to "settle down" after hanging from a wall with his feet planted against it before I can do ejects again. What is this? I have no idea, and it does break some flow. Please check and tell me
Thanks! As for your question about Revelations, yes, what you are experiencing is intended behaviour from the game. The unfortunate reality is that Revelations does remove the unlimited animation cancelling featured in the first 3 games, and doesn’t let you animation cancel out of climbing animations that involve the Hookblade until the Hookblade connects with the wall. It does still have button-triggered catch ledge and works mostly the same as the first three games, but I consider it the worst system in classic AC because of the nerfed animation cancelling.
@@jcers oh wow. So I was right! But such a victory is hollow. Anyways, grim stuff aside, what are your opinions on the sudden camera 360s when you side eject? They don't happen all the time (luckily) but whenever they do, I feel like I outsmarted the game; it thought I would move in a certain direction, but I moved in another, so it had to do the sudden 360 to get the camera where I was going. I had a clip with one in it but I ultimately didn’t like the clip overall so I cut it. If I end up covering any of the Bonfire of the Vanities missions, I’ll mostly likely end up using them there.

Yo bro, I am ina little trouble now. So as I told you, I had been working on my own AC2 parkour montage, and I'm done with it. Problem was, the video, with everything came up to be a 10 minute long one. I was worried that people may or may not get bored watching a 10 minute long video of a man jumping around. So I decided to scrap some of the clips, and now I have another version which is 8 minutes long. Now I'm confused, which one do I upload? The 10 min one had some locations like San Gimignano, which isn't in the 8 minute one. What do you say?
Upload the one that you like more. Don’t worry too much about what people who watch your videos will stick around for, especially considering you’re still a small channel and audience retention doesn’t affect revenue or anything like that. The main thing to keep in mind is to upload the content that you want to make. The people that want to watch it will, and you’ll build your audience/community around them.
My specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 10700F GPU: RTX 2070 SUPER 16GB RAM You should be fine with what you have. Even a computer that’s very weak by today’s standards should be able to run AC2 decently enough.
Really don’t know why ppl praised the stealth in the old ac games. unity was the most fluent and you didn’t get stuck or bounced on every single object lol

Watching this in 2024 and it is so sad to See how much we lost. I forgot how many possibilities we had. I am even more angry to See how quick Ezio gets down from buildungs. When did any Assassin lose the ability to just walk of an obstacel. It is pathetic nowadays. Maybe in the furure the devil offers me a deal fory soul and I can wish for a good old parkour system. But than again, this would make Ubisoft a lot of money and that isn't smth I'd like to do.
I really really hate AC2 parkour, it doesn't work 70% of the time. Compared to AC1 and AC Brotherhood. Drives me insane, this is a lucky dude or he just mastered this awful game.
That hasn’t been my experience at all. AC2 has always felt significantly more polished than AC1’s system to me, mainly due to how AC1 handles wallrun from beams that jut out of walls. As for Brotherhood, it feels largely the same to me, but Ezio is noticeably heavier, which I’m not a fan of, and the game locks horizontal camera movement during a wallrun, which bothers me more and more every time I play the game, haha. Could you give some examples as to what goes wrong for you most commonly in AC2? It’s possible that I could help.

That's why you've gotta pick the right spots to climb walls if you're gonna scale them (or just skip scaling by using your full moveset).

ooooh.. so this is why the newer games don’t feel like.. AC. Kassandra and Eivor feel so bulky 🥲 I can’t say I hate the newer games, but I do get frustrated that they don’t play like the older ones.
The parkour being awful is definitely a major component in those games’ failure to deliver on an Assassin-like player fantasy.

Watching this in 2024 and it is so sad to See how much we lost. I forgot how many possibilities we had. I am even more angry to See how quick Ezio gets down from buildungs. When did any Assassin lose the ability to just walk of an obstacel. It is pathetic nowadays.
Maybe in the furure the devil offers me a deal fory soul and I can wish for a good old parkour system. But than again, this would make Ubisoft a lot of money and that isn't smth I'd like to do.

I really really hate AC2 parkour, it doesn't work 70% of the time. Compared to AC1 and AC Brotherhood. Drives me insane, this is a lucky dude or he just mastered this awful game.
That hasn’t been my experience at all. AC2 has always felt significantly more polished than AC1’s system to me, mainly due to how AC1 handles wallrun from beams that jut out of walls. As for Brotherhood, it feels largely the same to me, but Ezio is noticeably heavier, which I’m not a fan of, and the game locks horizontal camera movement during a wallrun, which bothers me more and more every time I play the game, haha.
Could you give some examples as to what goes wrong for you most commonly in AC2? It’s possible that I could help.
