We did an unplanned half dome hike a few years back at Yosemite. Truly an unforgettable experience. We had no permit, no harness for the cable climb and no gloves. We simply said why not take the trail as far as we can and then turn around for a little self challenge. Plus my wife and I have a slight fear of heights so the thought of trekking to the top was nowhere near our radar. The one thing we had that saved us for the unplanned and intensely difficult hike was lots of snacks and water in our backpacks. Along the way people on their way back from the top offered us each gloves, additional refreshments, at one point 2 harnesses and then a permit right before we decided we’re going to turn around 1) Bc we were dog tired and 2) There was a ranger checking permits at the base. We got the free permit from a generous group and encouragement from others to go all the way. After talking through our fears we decided to face them, take the climb and make it down and back safely. Next day we were in the worst pain from soreness that I have ever felt in my entire life but I WILL NEVER FORGET IT and regret none of it. Besides the hike Yosemite is such a majestic place and this video brought me back.
i’ve been to quite a few and mine would be 1. Teton 2. yellowstone 3. arches 4.bryce canyon 5. guadalupe(very underrated in my opinion but it’s really more or less meant for true hikers and not a quick visit but if you ever have the time to hike it you HAVE to and you won’t regret it)
Many people don't agree but for me my current #1 still has to go to Acadia National Park! Just for how different it feels from most things in the US with the whimsical forests that sit on top of giant rocks high enough to be counted as mountains while still being on the coast of the ocean. The natural cobblestone beaches where rocks smooth themselves out overtime and the fact one of the coolest small town lies right on the edge of it! But I'm in Utah in July and I have a feeling Zion or Bryce Canyon may surpass it on my list!
Thank you for this! Want to find a good national park to take the family. Heard that Yellowstone isn't nearly as good anymore as I remember as a kid (during the 90s). This definitely helps!
@user-dk9rs3uv9i I'm very behind. Visited almost all the national Parks. We went late spring in yellowstone, yes, it will be busy, but it is absolutely the best park. There's a reaso why it is so famous.
The scenery is stunning! Mountains, lakes, etc! Basically it’s far north close to the Canadian Rockies which are incredible. If Banff in Canada was one of the US national parks it would easily be our #1 😄
After having gone to the 8 in Alaska since this was made, this list is really thrown out the window. It’s so hard to rank them now. The Alaska parks are so incredible and unique. Yellowstone is special in its own ways but we are really drawn to massive mountains which is why North Cascades, Glacier, Yosemite, etc are our favorites. We just have 2 left to go to now and hope to reach all of them by this summer! You’ll love the Alaska parks when you make it out there!
Save up money, put it all on one stock 10x it, then do it again 3x, buy a couple of properties then sell them, and do it over again. Then put it back in the stock market and 10x that, then buy properties again and have people pay rent.
We spent three months living in and hiking around the Smokey Mountains and love them. In terms of national park rankings, number 22 on our list right now.
No. 1 North Cascade, deserved. I love that Nat’l Park! So underrated.
Totally agree!
Divine., beautiful places, play of colors and light...
😍
Mine would be
1 glacier
2 Zion
3 Yosemite
4 Teton
5 joshua

Wow that’s awesome! Quite the feat to make it to the top of half dome and especially unprepared!
Me and my daughter visited them all. Amazing
Retiring in a year or so. DEF planning to travel to all the national parks! Beautiful!
That’s awesome, we’re on a similar itinerary now! Gonna hit about 10k miles and 10 national parks on our 50 day road trip🤯
Great choices. Northern cascades is really underrated.
What do you think about Olympic national park in Washington?
i’ve been to quite a few and mine would be
1. Teton
2. yellowstone
3. arches
4.bryce canyon
5. guadalupe(very underrated in my opinion but it’s really more or less meant for true hikers and not a quick visit but if you ever have the time to hike it you HAVE to and you won’t regret it)

I went as a kid as well and have been thinking of going back, what about it isn’t as good anymore?
@@sealio728 i don't know details. Just that it's not as good? Too commercialized, maybe? Almost certainly crowded.
I've been to 51 parks. I've been to Yellowstone 5 times. It is easily my favorite!
@user-dk9rs3uv9i I'm very behind. Visited almost all the national Parks. We went late spring in yellowstone, yes, it will be busy, but it is absolutely the best park. There's a reaso why it is so famous.
What’re the best hikes at north cascades??
Ruby mountain. Best view in America.
@@ah2451 bet!!
all r so beautiful ^^
I'm going to the North Cascades I live in Washington and I really want to see them
It’s so beautiful there! You’ll love it
1) Zion
2) Yosemite
3)Joshua
4) Bryce Canyon
5) Pinnacles
Totally agree with your list! Although I’m surprised nothing from Utah made it on there.
They’re all beautiful in their own ways. We love Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands. But the mountains are the most impressive to us!
@@TravelTherapyMentor respect!
I consider North Cascades my home park. Might be the most underrated NP. One of my favorites.
Yessss it’s so stunning and so under rated!!
1. Zion 2. GSM 3. Redwood 4. Canyon lands 5. Rocky mount , out of all I’ve been to
Why rocky mount
My order would be
1. Grand Canyon
2. Denali
3. Yellowstone
4. Big bend
5. Gates of the arctic
Mine:
1. Yellowstone
2. Rocky Mountain National Park
3. Arches
4. Zion
5. Grand Teton National Park
North Cascades is probably my favorite aswell. Good thing all the best parts of the park aren't actually in the "park" itself! 😁😁😁
Why cascades??? Would love to know more
The scenery is stunning! Mountains, lakes, etc! Basically it’s far north close to the Canadian Rockies which are incredible. If Banff in Canada was one of the US national parks it would easily be our #1 😄
@@TravelTherapyMentor thanks
Will you come to mount Bromo Mr.?
We haven't been to any of these yet, but hope to change that soon!
I’m surprised Yellowstone is not on here
Did u guys witness any paranormal stuff in any of those woods?
Now I gotta go to the North Cascades 😊
I'd agree except glacier #1. Yellowstone is a tough on to leave out. We've been to all except Alaska's natl parks

@@TravelTherapyMentor yup same here. Mountains are my favorite also. My wife likes the desert for some strange reason.
Just got back from North Cascades and Glacier!
Great Sand Dunes is easily in my top 5
If I may…
In which of the top 5 did you guys find the most natural sustenance (ie. nuts, berry’s, greens, fruits, etc) ?
How much did it cost to do all this ?
North Cascades is awesome! It definitely gets overshadowed by Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park.
Agreed!!!
Why don’t people have Yellowstone ranked high? It has tundra, desert, mountains, forest, lakes, geysers, canyons, megafauna. It’s like 5 parks in one!
How does one afford this lifestyle? (Asking for a friend 🤔)
Save up money, put it all on one stock 10x it, then do it again 3x, buy a couple of properties then sell them, and do it over again.
Then put it back in the stock market and 10x that, then buy properties again and have people pay rent.
Glacier National Park is the best one
There's 65 parks now 😮
North cascades is so underrated
We agree! It's so gorgeous
Agreed and the best park is I live their
Go to india it is the most diverse country even in biodiversity
Great Smokey mountain?
We spent three months living in and hiking around the Smokey Mountains and love them. In terms of national park rankings, number 22 on our list right now.
All California?
Been to most
You could just say that you prefer mountains over everything else and save us all the video waiting for something different 😜
Какая красота 😍
I'm going to guess that Jared is a Libra and Whitney is a Leo.
😍😍😍🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wanna do this with my girlfriend
Do it! So amazing
