As an Italian, it feels so much different to hear it dubbed. Literally, Winx Club was my childhood. I never knew it was famous around the world until Netflix did a sort of adaptation.
Same girl hahaha this is the first time I listen to this show in english and it feels so strange. I've always listened to it in Spanish, and since the og is in italian, translation to spanish is top notch (because of the similarities of both languages).
As Russian, it also feels weird to hear English dub when you are used to Russian one. It might have 3 and a half VAs but it's just so much nostalgia. I still remember all songs by hard after all these years. Also I struggled a lot with accepting that I love this show, because in late 2000s - early 2010s it was a huge shame among my peers to love Winx, for some reason. And, of course, it was an excuse for bullying people cause it's stupid girl's cartoon (I also was a huge Ben 10 fan and was bullied for it too because it's for boys🙃). PS. Weird observation: my favorite fairy was Techna and my favorite alien was Upgrade as a kid. Technokinesis just fascinates me a lot.

Oh this show is kinda wild but there's a reason for that - this show is Italian in origin and primarily about the fashion - showing it off and getting kids interested in it. The animation is a little wonky because the fashion is meant to be the feature and it's possible that the animators of this version of the show were either fashion designers first or drawing the show the way fashion designers draw (especially the people). One of my friends who's from Italy told me that the purpose of the show when it was first being released was to get people into fashion - either designing or modeling - and they just happened to put a plot in too. That's why there's so many outfits in each episode, why there are so many 'upgrade' transitions, even why there are so many characters and also why the backgrounds are still - they want you to look at the clothes people are wearing, not what the people are doing.
Actually, that's not entirely accurate. The show was not created with the aim of bringing people closer to fashion, even if designers were in fact hired to create the outfits, but I think this is more linked to the fact that Italy is a country in where fashion has a great impact. Words from the Winx creator: the show was originally created with the aim of creating a product entirely dedicated to girls in animation, in that period television was full of dedicated products for boys and few for girls, at least in Italy ; in fact the drawing style is inspired by anime because it was the most popular animated format on TV. The reason why the animation is not of the highest quality is for budget reasons, also because the Winx were the first example of animation in Italy at an industrial level, in fact improves over time.

I feel like that’s more abt people calling people skeptics who aren’t, someone shows shoddy ‘evidence’ and then dismisses the person going “that looks like utter bs” by labeling them a skeptic. Ufo chasers and spiratualist fortune tellers etc use the “oh you’re just a skeptic” line to act like they’re the ones critically thinking and everyone just hasn’t reached their obviously correct conclusion (because that type never thinks they are wrong)

So…gonna explain everything! Winx Club is basically a show about 6 (only 5 in the 1st season) fairies attending the academy for fairies called Alfea: Bloom, Flora, Stella, Musa, Tecna, Aisha/Layla (different names for different translations, appeared in the 2nd season and became a part of Winx club). Basically the name of Winx Club was made by Bloom just to call their friend group somehow (Wings-Winx, the X in the logo looks like a pair of wings). There are 7 original seasons, 2 season of The world of winx and now they’re kind of remaking the show (which og fans doesn’t like at all). In different seasons they have different villains that they have to fight. The first transformation that basically doesn’t have a name (everyone just calls it Winx Club) is their default one, Enchantix is the full transformation of a fairy that they had to sacrifice their lives for (that’s why Stella’s dad was asking her to wake up, she’d saved him before) and later on in every season they gain more transformations (Believix-they had to make people believe in fairies, Bloomix-they basically transformed because Bloom gave each one of them a part of her dragon flame etc). Every transformation has a song. I RECOMMEND your react to all of the transformations in ITALIAN (the show is Italian so it’s the original language), THEY’RE BOMB. The lyrics of each transformation is kinda telling about it, but it was mostly made because it’s a show for little kids. Every fairy has a power even when not transformed, but they can’t fly without their wings and are not as strong (also it’s just cool to see them transform every time). Interesting facts: there are 3 main academies: Alfea-for fairies, Red Fountain-for specialists (guys), Cloud Tower-for witches. The main villains of the show are: the trix (3 witches from the cloud tower that later left the school), Darkar, Valtor, the wizards of the black circle, Tritannus
7:02 yeah the script is a little terrible but I think it’s because they translated it from a different language and there is another version out there and some scenes and dialogue are different. I don’t know which one you are watching though.

Yeah Mike was written so werid in this epsiode. They've known for years that Bloom had magic in fact at one point he had to pull her out of a fire that she had gotten trapped in and put up a forcefield to protect herself. I write this epsiode off as early installment weirdness since he acts completely different from ep 2 onwards.
They didn't know she had magic. SPOILERS They just said that they knew she was special, because of where she was found and the flames didn't seem to harm her, but after that Bloom was just a regular girl. For all we know they could've thought it was a once in a life time godly miracle. Of course the pieces start to fall in place after Stella appeared, but denial it's still a pretty normal reaction to such a revelation.

I grew up with the Nick Version of Winx Club which were hour long specials. And when I found out that that there was actual seasons and episodes, I watched that for the first time. The animation is very different because the Nick version came out in 2010 compared to the first version. I'm more partial to the Nick Version but I still appreciate the original. Even now, I watch the nick versions just because I can't get into the other version, but that's just me.
Strangely enough I work with someone who sits on a chair like Mike they're half under the desk and it just looks so uncomfortable on the computer chairs the office has.
See now I need you to watch all of the seasons up to season 4!! 😭😭 And you’ve chosen the best dub as well because personally the cinelume dub is better and doesn’t unnecessarily change things, so it’s perfect.
I promise this shows animation writing and voice acting gets better as the show goes on the first maybe a few episodes are a little rocky but it really does get better🙌

Thank you for this video, long time Winx fan laughing here! 😂 Hopefully you'll do more! The plot explains pretty much all of the weird things in the show (like Stella had to lose in the first fight so Bloom may discover her powers). I suppose the dad not believing the whole fairy thing is also kind of part of the plot, it forces them to show off and explain a BIT more to the viewer as well (even though Stella does fail with clear explanations...). Maybe it feels more realistic that at least one parent is against this (whatever the reason) than if they would be just like "ok Bloom off you go to the fairyland" . If this was real people, I'd say the dad doesn't want to believe in supernatural things and/or is just protective of her daughter and it's his coping mechanism to say he doesn't believe even when there is clear proof. Also: I laughed when you were surprised that some of the Specialists are introduced with title and others are not: no spoilers, but this is actually an important plot point and the viewer should get to know the guys early on. Anyway, I hope you to more reactions!

I’m so happy you’re watching Winx Club. I watched this when I was little and loved it. I think you should also try the Nickelodeon version. The animation is a little different and the voices are different. But it’s interesting. Instead of episodes, they’re put into short movies that are about 45 minutes. They don’t have all the details that the seasons have, but it has four different short movies for season one and season two of the original version. I think you should give it a try.
The Nickelodeon version is a poor and messy recap of the first seasons that leaves out and changes many details, to the point of the not making sense sometimes. I could see someone watching it to compare it to the seasons, but if we're talking about getting the full and cohesive story it doesn't make much sense to watch it.

I feel like the changes 4kids did to the narrative make the plot feel more fluid and less choppy. The changes aren't even very big for the most part.
I grew up with the Nick Version of Winx Club which were hour long specials. And when I found out that that there was actual seasons and episodes, I watched that for the first time. The animation is very different because the Nick version came out in 2010 compared to the first version. I'm more partial to the Nick Version but I still appreciate the original. Even now, I watch the nick versions just because I can't get into the other version, but that's just me.

Thank you for this video, long time Winx fan laughing here! 😂 Hopefully you'll do more! The plot explains pretty much all of the weird things in the show (like Stella had to lose in the first fight so Bloom may discover her powers). I suppose the dad not believing the whole fairy thing is also kind of part of the plot, it forces them to show off and explain a BIT more to the viewer as well (even though Stella does fail with clear explanations...). Maybe it feels more realistic that at least one parent is against this (whatever the reason) than if they would be just like "ok Bloom off you go to the fairyland" . If this was real people, I'd say the dad doesn't want to believe in supernatural things and/or is just protective of her daughter and it's his coping mechanism to say he doesn't believe even when there is clear proof. Also: I laughed when you were surprised that some of the Specialists are introduced with title and others are not: no spoilers, but this is actually an important plot point and the viewer should get to know the guys early on. Anyway, I hope you to more reactions!

I’m so happy you’re watching Winx Club. I watched this when I was little and loved it. I think you should also try the Nickelodeon version. The animation is a little different and the voices are different. But it’s interesting. Instead of episodes, they’re put into short movies that are about 45 minutes. They don’t have all the details that the seasons have, but it has four different short movies for season one and season two of the original version. I think you should give it a try.
The Nickelodeon version is a poor and messy recap of the first seasons that leaves out and changes many details, to the point of the not making sense sometimes. I could see someone watching it to compare it to the seasons, but if we're talking about getting the full and cohesive story it doesn't make much sense to watch it.
