With the country in turmoil and protestors demanding sweeping reforms - the King - in an exclusive interview with this programme and CNN - has called his country "the Land of Compromise," suggesting there may be a way out of the long running political impasse.

- The monarchy takes up a lot of each year’s government budget and nobody can challenge or audit how the taxpayers’ hard-earned money will be spent since it’s taboo to criticize the monarchy
- There have been numerous claims of forced disappearances on dissidents who spoke up against the monarchy
It’s way past the point of compromise. All of these issues that have been plaguing the country needs to be put on the table, not swept under the carpet.

An organized crowd as usual; many were paid to come from outside of Bangkok, others are government workers who were forced to come as part of their "duties". it was ballzy for a foreign (british) reporter to ask it. he might get stopped at the airport for a few hours or have his press credentials pulled.
5yrs i lived near bangkok. when i heard and saw the BBC reporter asking an non-approved, spontaneous question...i litterly was staring at the screen to see what "happened" next.
Only blind adulation is acceptable; anything else is crime and not subject to compromise...
