    True, we have to complete the roller coaster ride if market has fallen, eventually it will move up and i have experienced it.
    I also invested in small cap lumpsum in 2019 and in 2020 crash the amount was reduced by 55% but i didn't panic as i put that money with a long term goal and also know risk associated.
    Now in 2021 the value is increased by 70+% in addition to the invested amount.
    Key take away: Know your Goal and risk, Plan accordingly.
    As usual excellent video Vijay sir.

    Sir you are rocking💐. You are getting better day by day and also improving us grow day by day. I have some personal query this time. In your last video on ATS, on an example in leveraged ETF, you said controlling emotions when you had invested higher amount will be much difficult. Most of us here are very new (2020- Covid batch entry😅), athuvum coffee tiffin sapidra panam than😆. But on contrast, you would had been preparing for retirement at that time of March-2020. With all your money on equity, your 28X on 2019 would have fallen drastically to become ~15X-20X, controlling emotions at that time would have been easier said than done. How did you handled that? Had you been able to invest lumpsum after that fall?. What was your thinking at that time? It would had completely shattered all your plans you made before, how you responded. Please answer sir🤗.

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  3 года назад +4

      Very good question. I did not get out of the market at all. I knew that was part of the package and stayed invested. And of course, I was investing new money as and when I earned it. Yes, it is not an easy thing to do. But because I know that it would happen at some point, I was not surprised. Able to handle it comfortably.
      Regarding retirement planning, I did not plan for getting out of corporate life at that time at all. It just happened early this year.

      Just being curious about finance itself will help you gain financial knowledge. If you see or hear a term that you are not familiar with it, be curious about it and try to learn about it. Over time, you will have enough knowledge. You can also subscribe to online forums to see what are all the typical financial problems others are running into and what kind of suggestions they are getting from others to handle it. That will help you to improve your financial knowledge as well. FB has "Asan Ideas of Wealth" group that specifically focuses on that. I am sure there are plenty others like that.

    Sir, I'm newbee in investing. Just wanted to know how compound interest works in mutual funds?. I can see I'm buying units in particular year and after 10 years it's grown then my invested amount is also grown .but then how this compound interest fit in this scenario

    • @InvestmentInsightsTamil
      @InvestmentInsightsTamil  3 года назад +1

      The compounded growth comes from the invested amount growing. Not sure what is your question here.

    • @girubs
      @girubs 3 года назад +6

      Your mutual fund is nothing but a collection of companies. let's consider your mutual fund has only one company. You invested 100Rs in the company. After 1 year, the company reported 10% profit. So your investment value is 110Rs. In the second year, the company again reported 10% profit compared to the first year. Then your investment value becomes 121Rs.. this is called compounding.
