Whenever I can’t beat a game, I just hand the controller to my husband so I can see the ending. I don’t know how he’s able to be good at virtually every game I hand him, but he has skills.
I think it's like one of the things Rob made a video about, where just taking a break from a game can make you better at it when you come back. So your husband knows how to play it, but neither his hands or his brain has become tired from playing it or whatever goes wrong when playing something too long.
There are 2 types of RPGs. The real ones where you are an unstoppable hero/child/dragon/etc. And then there is Dark Souls. Me and Rob prefer to feel the former.

Interestingly, my interest in FF7 started to go away when i saw the E3-Demo and only returned a couple of yesterday when i heard that it would also include a turn based option.
Oh man, Elle is so great. First I was sceptical about a new member, because I had a void in my heart, when Hollie left, but Elle grew so fast on me, because she is so much her own person and I love the way she sees the world... Anyway, now I want to be a big angry black dude with a gun arm. XD
Sword saint took me three days and a whole lot of trying different tactics watching video after video I would say keep with it you can do it trust me and use the azure umbrella it's you best friend.
Either Alien Isolation because I’m a total wimp, or the witness, that final challenge puzzle is brutal and I got close once or twice but after hours I resigned myself to not beating it 😭

Dark Souls. Every single time I get to the part where you have to collect the flames, and every single time Nito knocks my head off and I get discouraged. I don't understand how I've gotten to that point at least a dozen times, but have never passed it.
I have had Skyrim for years. Love it. Put hundreds of hours into it. But I kept getting sidetracked by sidequests and neglected the main story. Then I got distracted by other games. I eventually had to uninstall it to make room on my PS4 hard drive. I don't think I'm ever going to finish that game.
Me too! I was kinda spoiled by The Witcher 3 when I started playing TES5. It's not a bad game at all. Just that TW3 is better at side quests and campaign.
I'm really scared I won't be able to finish FF7 Remake, because it's too hard and/or chaotic. I played the original and finished it with a friend, but never did the optional bosses. I absolutely loved it, both for the story, fighitng and the grind. I. Love. A. Good. Grind. I'm a hardcore Normal difficulty player at heart and hopefully it wiil be a awesome experience the whole game, but I'm totally afraid of the optional boosses regarding a possible Platinum. Right now I'm bummed out about Onrush. Just changed my Online Tag and it was the only game I lost all my online progression, both levels and car skins, and it's hard to start over. So no level 400 for me, even though I was so damn close. :(
Out of the clearly obtainable platinums (and disregarding things like Wolfenstein New Colossus), I think I'll never get the one for Titanfall 2 because of "...becomes the master" trophy. Tried this for an hour or two and was still more than 3 seconds away from the required timing on my best try. Probably can get it eventually, but don't feel like putting that much effort.
Can we get Dave playing Through the Fire and Flames on Rocksmith with his actual guitar? Also, I love Nath's approach to games, he's the quintessential single player who locks himself in with a game and he's not coming out til one of them is dead!

I, on the other hand, was really unhappy to find out that the FF VII remake had screwed with the battle system, and I was very happy with the recent news that they're adding an option to switch it to the classic system.
Not to worry Dave, I am a professional drummer. But every time I play rock band's drums, I cannot for the life of me hit the note when it wants me too. I am playing it perfectly to the rhythm, but there is always a latency issue which just slightly throws me off.
Beating Through the Fire and Flames on Expert after so much grinding is one of my favorite gaming achievements. It was so much fun to play through. Hand hurt like hell though.
I can relate to playing guitar and getting mixed up in Guitar Hero. I used to do the same thing. Especially when you know the songs so well and you know what's supposed to be coming and your hand moves to play it as it should be but the game play is completely different.
It's so good! Maybe try reading The Last wish or Sword of Destiny, they're all the short stories that started The Witcher. Really easy read, highly recommended.
Really great video! To my shame, I've never beaten FF8 (tried it when I was a kid, never understood the junction system, never tried it again). I sometimes limit myself to playing games I know I can beat as getting super frustrated and rage quitting is never fun!
Wolfenstein youngblood is a game I will never finish because of the final boss. With the boss one shot me and the sister constantly needing save it will not be beaten. It was actually fun up to that point.
Dave you are so right about rhythm games on easier settings. You have to work through them to get better but they never feel very good because of all the missed notes.
Dave! I feel you so much! Any singing/music games are so ridiculously difficult for me, not because they're difficult, but because they are so different from how it actually works. I'm a piano and voice teacher and actual techniques don't work on the games!!! It pains my musician's heart.

I've never finished Final Fantasy VII either, furthest that I've ever gotten is end of Disc 2. When it comes to finished Final Fantasy games, here's my list: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12 and 13.

The award for me goes to Driver 2. I was doing so well in the game driving around being awesome and then the next to the last level where you have to chase the bad guy was so frustrating and I never beat it. It makes me sad because I loved that game so much :(

I probably wont ever finish the first red dead redemption. What happens is I binge the game HARD for several days and I'll put like 20 hours in it in a week or so and I still won't be done with it but then for whatever reason I'll stop playing it and wont play it for several months then when I come back I dont remember anything that's happened so I start from the beginning again. Done this about 3 times with this game.
Ive conquered all the Dark Souls games and their respective Platinums but that DAMN jump rope trophy from FFIX will forever stand between me and my illustrious FFIX Platinum. 😂

Sekiro. Beat nearly every other boss including the infamous Demon of hatred then put the game down for a while when I got frustrated with the sword saint and his 4 lifebars. Now have no morivation to finish. Just too frustratingly hard.
Don't feel bad Dave. TTFAF is a nightmare. I literally spent 2 years playing it nearly every day before I finally beat it. And even then I had to use some arguably cheaty tactics. And I am VERY good at guitar hero. I've 5-starred most songs, full comboed a lot of them, and very nearly broken a couple world records. But there is one song that I still haven't beaten. This song is utter hell. It haunts me. I have no idea how a human is suppose to be able to do the things this song demands. "Speeding" by Steve Vai is the only song in the entire guitar hero series that I've never managed to beat.

I have beaten ff7 and ff8 when i was in middle school. I couldn't beat croc 2 for the ps1.....also i know how to beat sans in genocide run

Personally what helped me was grinding as much as I can to memorize his moves. Then taking a three day break from fighting him.

Sekiro. Beat nearly every other boss including the infamous Demon of hatred then put the game down for a while when I got frustrated with the sword saint and his 4 lifebars. Now have no morivation to finish. Just too frustratingly hard.

Don't feel bad Dave. TTFAF is a nightmare.
I literally spent 2 years playing it nearly every day before I finally beat it. And even then I had to use some arguably cheaty tactics.
And I am VERY good at guitar hero. I've 5-starred most songs, full comboed a lot of them, and very nearly broken a couple world records.
But there is one song that I still haven't beaten. This song is utter hell. It haunts me. I have no idea how a human is suppose to be able to do the things this song demands.
"Speeding" by Steve Vai is the only song in the entire guitar hero series that I've never managed to beat.
