Such a loss he had a lust for life. I just think the story broke when life as we knew it was messed up with the pandemic and he probably felt he had no escape.
It’s a fair question. I’m a big Nirvana fan, and imagine if when Kurt Cobain died the only info was “he’s taken his own life. There will be no further info whatsoever on how, where, why.” People would be curious and want to try and fill in some blanks. I get why there aren’t answers in the public domain, but people shouldn’t be berated for asking questions about what happened to someone they admired, looked up to, and in some cases conversed with.
Only if he had taken a more care free approach towards media and not letting them get into his head he would've overcome the restrictions he was faced due to the cancelation, he would've found a way to monetize his work and get money in cash,Bitcoin .... the world is not revolving around a few American companies in my opinion, him being British also was a factor which made him more concerned of the media reaction than it should be ,in reality that article was just one out of hundreds of copy they push on a daily basis to get clicks and revenue. I should also mention that he felt he was surrounded with lots of fake friends who they were happy to see him going down , he probably expected those who had platforms, start defending him , but in reality some actually added fire to it , and they continued doing this even after his death to get more clients out of Tom's name I think Tom's mistake was that he still had an altruistic view about life , and he was worried about this so-called IMAGE ordinary people might have of him ,being this and that and sadly it made him to do something irreversible His death was a big loss for me and I'm sure it was for many other people , which they found Tom's ideas towards life and his way of thinking very close to them

Why did he do it?
What you're asking in reality is, why don't I want him having done that? Tom said we all have the answers to our questions.
