      Costume CO Thank you for replying! I'll be eating a lot of ice cream and enjoying not having to cook for anyone. 😂 I also started watching Game of Thrones over from the beginning and I must say, I'm noticing so much more about everyone's clothing after watching some of your videos. I love being able to sense things about their personalities or who they are trying to emulate through their clothes. It makes for a completely different viewing experience and it's all thanks to you! 😊

      I love it when I don't have to cook for everyone. I'll just eat cold cereal out of a salad bowl without a care in the world when the family is away! Hahah. And I should rewatch GOTs before season 8 begins. Good idea.

    You just said Season 7 was too dark and you couldn't see the costumes. I couldn't agree more!! Why do they ALWAYS add that blue filter or whatever. When I see still shots, like of the embroidery on Cersei's pink gown. I think its pink. Has the lions on shoulder. I was blown away by the detail!! Those costumes are amazing! Ok, bout to watch your top 10!!💕

    My favourite costume of all time is Sansa’s green Stark dress in season 6! It’s her reclaiming her identity and it shows her strength and determination to fight for Winterfell with Jon. Great video!♥️

    Arya's winter warrior outfit looks both stylish and practical, though I preferred the blue skirt from the sparring match with Brienne as it added a little more color.
    Daenerys' white coat was also nice, and a surprise.

      @Costume_CO  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Mike, thank you so much for commenting. Yes, I like that blue skirt as well and Dany's white coat is stunning. :)

  • @sarascott54
    @sarascott54 6 лет назад +31

    I loved all your picks and agree that even though Dany's white coat was the showstopper of the season , Lyanna's dress was gorgeous. I just wish we had more scenes with it or a better angle/lighting that captured the beautiful details. Some comments on costumes that weren't featured: I was very unimpressed with Cersei's black /grey dress from the dragon pit scene. I thought it was boring for such a monumental scene. I would like to suggest some runner ups as well: 1) Gendry's leather jacket he wears on Dragonstone and 2) Sandor "the Hound" Clegane's new (and clean) outfit from the dragon pit scene. It was nice to see Sandor cleaned up a bit and in all new duds that wasn't rusty armor or soiled. Excellent video as always!

      Thank you so much! I'm not if you saw any of my other Game of Thrones Top 10, but I feature all of these costumes! Absolutely agree about Cersei's dragon pit gown. It was so odd and out of place. I really didn't care for most of Cersei's gowns this season. Viewer Tatiana loves to tease me about how much I went on about Cersei's gown. I'd also love to see more of Lynna's gown, especially with her moving in it. Maybe they can do a video of just her in it for us fans!

  • @PhebusdesTours

    To complete what you said about Sansa's costume, I just noticed the shoulder pads she wore, and it reminds me a lot of Margaery, although the fitted belt is more Cersei-like. Love your work!

    I preferred Dany's North of the Wall outfit as number 1, but I'm a sucker for white, furs and cold weather. I love the detailing on Lyanna's dress. With the pale green and leaves, she looks like Spring personified. An homage to leaving Winterfell behind maybe, and looking forward to new beginnings.

    hi thank you so much for this video, so great to see GOT videos from you while we wait for the next season to start. For me, Dany's coat was number one, I absolutely loved it. Thank you! I'm going to try to get out a GOTs video every month if possible. I still want to do the Costumes of Essos that I never got too - that will probably be a 2 or 3 parter plus some character videos too!
      Dany's coat was my hands down favourite of the season until I saw Leanna's. It's such a thing of beauty to me and it was so light and wafty compared to all of the darkness from the season. That's just me. :)

    Just waiting for Season 8. I was amazed how well crafted and very different, matching every character and place those costumes are.
    On trailer I saw, there are some improvements. Podrick and Jorah especially :)
    As a man...I still don't get it why burrito costume was even invented...brrr, what a horrible thing. And wonder, wasn't too warm for Jon, when he was wearing entire coat of fur at King's Landing? :P

    • @Costume_CO
      @Costume_CO  5 лет назад +2

      Hey Komander, thank you so much for the comment! It does appear that Pod has a new look. Jorah's is a version of his S7 costume, you know the new armour he greeted Dany in? The sleeves are interchangeable, sometimes "bear" fur and other times just simple leather>
      As far as Jon being hot, absolutely, but that decision was intentional, for Jon to wear the cape. When he met Dany the first time he took it off, to be less threatening, but wanted to look more commanding the first time he met with Cersei. That's according to costume designer Michele Clapton, at any rate.

    This is such a fascinating site. I am planning to keep you close at hand when I watch the series again in its entirety (for the third time, lol) so I have a better idea of the complexities involved in the costuming from season to season. Prior to watching this video, I *was* wondering about the use of grommets, so thanks for affirming my suspicions regarding them being from a different century! I assume buckles were something that was being used in the GOT timeline though, correct? One thing I have a question about what what came across the screen as “glamis” and I couldn’t find out anything about this item or style. Am I spelling it incorrectly? I admit, your videos send me directly to the dictionary or encyclopedia sites so I can look further ~ you have awakened my fashion curiosity! Thanks so much for posting.
    Ok. I just found a site that stated that GOT, which is based on War of the Roses, is supposed to be taking place in the 15th century, so the 1400’s. When I looked up buckles, I found that they were used primarily by the military, beginning in the 1600’s. So, there is another case of taking literary license, I guess. Gotta love the internet!

    • @Costume_CO
      @Costume_CO  5 лет назад

      Hi Valerie, TY so much for your lovely comment. I don't know about the dating on buckles, but now that you mention it, I will have to double check! I could be wrong, but I think some version goes back as far as the Vikings.
      It might have been a Greek Chlamys, a type of cape held in place with a brooch. Was that when I was talking about Arya?
