Because cuz they wanted to put a female as the protagonist is sideline blade they don't like strong black men. You don't see White characters getting the same treatment as blade

DeMayo's treatment for Blade sounds amazing!! And it would've introduced Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo and Varnae the first vampire?! That would be so awesome! Marvel is overcomplicating this.

If the recent writer/ actor strikes have proved anything it's that the studios aren't spending $200M on a movie, they are stealing money under the cover of a budget.

He's in a legal fight with Disney I don't think he will have anything nice to say about the company. Has anyone look at Alli being the problem? It was reported he wanted blade to be his black panther with its cultural impact and importance. This might have prevented marvel from doing a simple vampire action movie.

It’s like you all said, a great idea is one thing, but the execution of that idea has to match. I think that’s where the problem is. All these people have great ideas that they can’t seem to execute. Now feige says he finally has a draft that he’s happy with, at least half of it I believe. So we’re on the right path. As a writer myself, got my MFA in screenwriting, exciting something like the raid with BLADE would prove very challenging and could easily make blade too one dimensional. I have hope for the future of Blade & Marvel because now that all this baggage has been addressed publicly, they can move past it and it sounds like they understand that.

I understand why a magical pregnancy story would make the execs nervous. It’s a very risky plot point and not a well loved trope.

If the MCU wants to connect everything so bad then like you said what they did before keep it simple tell the story of the character and little references of what took place in a previous film show up in this blade film heck have the characters run into other characters very briefly or something like they did with Antman and falcon

Naw, announcing Blade when they did was clearly a mistake, I doubt it was due to studio interference. Marvel has been a drift since Endgame and the projects announced since the 2020 have been all over the place. Iger and Feige have taken steps to get back on track by canceling bad ideas now and releasing a slimmed down slate of tv and movies to carry them through the end of this "multiverse" phase. Blade seems like a movie they want to make given the actor and the ip but are being cautious not wanting to damage the brand any further. I think Marvel was just trying to live off that energy they use to get in phases 1-3 when theyd announce such and such actor was playing a marvel character when they announced it.
That script he had was 🔥. Marvel fired the one person who shld be doing most of their projects creatively.
Yes, it is easy to come up with cool story ideas for Blade. But, what story ideas have Marvel come up with so far? From what I've heard, they have been terrible. You can't have a movie without a finished script, and you can't have a finished script without a solid story, cool characters, clear motivations for all the characters, and some real stakes (pun intended). All of that stems from an idea. What if.............? Is anyone at Marvel asking, what if? Like I've stated before elsewhere, there are Blade comic books for crying out loud, finding a good story for Blade should not be this hard. They did Moon Knight, and Werewolf By Night already, so what's their excuse?
I'm conflicted. On one hand, Disney/Marvel needs to get lit up like this for what they've been doing with Blade and pretty much everything else lately. But especially Blade. This should NOT be that hard to do. Hell they coulda just got Wesley to write and Direct the damn movie. Whoever the hell they got in the writer's room needs to be fired and whoever keeps hiring these writers need to be fired right alongside them. Or at least that's how I feel right now, cause its beyond ridiculous how bad things have been. But on the other hand, I feel like he's talking a lil too much. That Raid style Blade movie sounds like a dope concept, but it definitely ain't being made now after him talking about it.

They don't like black characters. Look what they did to Black panther in the first movie they took all their CGI people cuz they didn't believe in the movie. We're getting movies like The fantastic four dead IP has been a major flop in the movie theaters. But we can't get a simple blade movie
Everything is always better in hindsight but none of us were in those rooms or know those contracts or actors schedules and input etc.
Im finding it funny how so many channels are siding with beau...maybe he is telling the truth maybe he is jaded....as a black man some of those "racism" claims were pretty weak for me. I dont care if Kevin Feige himself said i looked like another black man (outside of the complexion its not that crazy to say and is a very minor "micro agression" if anything) they are still paying well and giving me great opportunities.
Everyone wants to monday morning quarterback all their decisions after the fact. Fact is 99% of these Blade stories could be fake or they simply want the best version.
Marlon Wayans just dropped an interview about Kenan making him and shawn do 20+ rewrites on a script....sometimes u just need to keep at it until its a classic.
I would rather them get it right than release a mediocre shang chi or black widow level blade movie.

He's very talented, but he is getting annoying, and I am not trying to defend marvel from their mistakes, but his words sound like "they ignored my good ideas and advice, and look where they are now."
He decides to work in that "broken studio", and before the problem with x-men 97, he never said anything, convenient. Half agree with the budget, blade doesn't need to be huge, jurasic needs it.

People do realise a lot of movies are pitched as "the raid, but [x]" and there's still only like 5 movies that are Actially Raid Tier (the last of which being The Night Comes For Us which is close to 10 years old now, somehow)

I’m guessing someone high up wanted to push an inclusion message even maybe a super subtle one and writers, potential directors, lead actor and actors and everyone in between were getting frustrated getting too far away from the central antagonist’s story Blade himself - morale probably sank like a rock along with the excitement of a new Blade film and you can’t make a successful movie under those conditions. You guys are absolutely right about a lower budget bring the story back to basics action packed Rated R blood fest. It’s the only way
