Just discovered Judy has passed away which makes me so 😔 I saw her when I was in my late teens in the late 80s in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I had an aisle seat which was a mistake as I laughed so hard I fell out into the aisle. Never laughed that hard since.
Judy was so outrageous!!!! And a little ahead of her time. She could make anyone laugh, even if they were in a state of depression. God bless her, RIP, sweet, crazy lady❤you will be so missed. ❤️
When I was a kid, I had her songs memorized. "Cause I'm a Blond" and "Homecoming Queen Has a Gun" (back when that was only a far-fetched idea). I remember a stand up she did where she described her perfect man who turned out to be a bald, beer bellied old dude (probably about my current age) and it was hilarious. She was so totally committed to the joke. It was absurd, but at the same time refreshing because it was kinda nice to hear an average person be appreciated- even though he was being made fun of, too. Judy Tenuna was my favorite comedian when I was a kid. I'll always be a Judy-ist. RIP, Judy.

Joan was a pro. She knew that after a while the "studmuffins" wore off and were taking the spotlight off the guest. So she kindly and cleverly dismissed them and even got the audience to applaud !
The first time I saw her, she was paired with Emo Phillips on some TV marathon. Absolutely hilarious! I thought they were a team. They worked great together and both were extremely talented.
My favorite Judy Joke. "I was pulled over in Dallas. The cop says, had ta pull ya over Judy, your car's blue, I'm gonna have ta strip search ya!" I was 16 when I heard it and its stuck with me ever since. This women is amazingly hilarious!!!😆💖😆

I worked at a restaurant in Boys Town in Chicago and many of the gay groups would hold their meetings and banquets there. Well one group I remember, FFoA, FistF******* of America, LOL! LOved those guys! Anyway they hired Judy for their entertainment and I was working the banquet that night! I laughed so hard! She was hilarious!!!

I met Judy in P-Town @ The Boatslip many years ago, late 80s or early 90s...She was awesome!! She was doing a performance on the back deck near the pool.
She was on a comedic rocket ship in the 90’s. Then it seems like one day she just disappeared from tv appearances and gigs. At least that’s what it feels like. I know she continued to be a successful stand-up, but I wonder what happened
On a Judy kick and this is amazing. I actually have one of her accordions. She had performed at a drag restaurant i worked at, and left it as a gift. It used to be on a shelf over the bar. When the restaurant closed for good, i said all i want is Judy's accordion and was able to take it. Prized posession!
