This is one of your best videos!! I love the Slim “narrative” and sarcasm. Growing up on a ranch I laughed at your city slicker herding skills. Great content; keep up the great adventures!!!
🥰 love Slim's narration 🤭😂 and wry humour... beautiful views and drone footage, thank you, but 'do-do' dodging and Glenn stressing had me in stitches, fab episode y'all, keep 'em comin' 😂🤠
Very fun video to watch and I love slims voice. He even has a sense of humor. That is awesome for a white truck to be able to have his own mindset . Thank you for taking me along loved it.
Such impressive terrain, helps cleanse the soul. Love the goldfish, whoever would have thought they would be found out there. Glenn lucked out avoiding that cow flop, how'd he do that, really it was right under Slim's door! 😂🌵🏜️
Laugh at you stepping in cow dung, I would never, but Slim...that's another story. 😂It was a fun drive and really enjoy when Glenn gets stressed out j/k. Loved the drone footage and nice landing!
Oh my goodness... I could make an entire video out of Glenn stressing out. I won't though. 😉 And be my guest and laugh... I sure as heck would if I saw that happen.🤣
Shocked that Slim was able to pronounce Hualapai! The boulders would freak me out for sure. Maybe not so much one blocking the way, but figuring out how I'd turn around on that road. Great adventure though. Beats the Interstate.
Modern Interstates, for sure, but little beats that Roman highway. 😄 You're right though... trying to turn around would take a while and maybe a clean pair of underwear.
The most beautiful shade of green up on the top of that mountain! Love the drone footage! I’m so glad you made it over those rocks. I would be too nervous to drive on such remote roads all alone. 😬
No joke! I worry about Glenn out alone sometimes but I know he has recovery gear. I'm just glad that I wasn't there with him that day as I would be panicked. 😂
Glenn, Amy and Slim, thanks to you I'm seeing Arizona like I never dreamed I would. Slim did a good job of narrating the ups and downs of this trip. Still can't wait to get moved back. Keep the videos coming.
I have to say, I can get used to slim being your new sidekick! Slim certainly had me laughing, A LOT 😅😅 It was really beautiful, and the fraudy cow 😅 That view outward near the mine was stunning! It's so weird seeing those fish! That was a crazy drive. the views are beautiful, though.
Actually... none whatsoever. Outside of the thumbnails and other RUclips into (title, description, etc), this is entirely Glenn's work from filming to editing. 😊
Would love to see the trail in real time. Not a fan of the speeding up the video. I live in AZ and love all our mountains and trails. Good job , loved the scenery
Thanks for that feedback! That’s good to know, because my preference is to have longer, more natural sequences like that, but usually opt to speed up/ trim a lot for fear of making it too long. If enough folks want me to let it breathe more, I’m definitely game!
I'm watching a second time, this is one of your best to date! The impending storm would concern me too, such a rocky, narrow road, regardless of Slim's comparative nonchalance! His snarky comments have me laughing out loud! Thanks again....🌵⚡⚡⛈️
Hi, the canyon you were looking up with the waste rock pile goes up to some mining buildings and equipment. The mine is up on top of the mountain or on the other side. I didn't try finding the mine because it was almost straight up from the buildings. By the rocks lying around the buildings I believe it was a copper mine. You could've made it up there no problem.
Oh, excellent! Every time we're been up that way we're usually pressed for time and trying to film something else later that same day so exploration to find the mine or other remnants usually stops where the majority is. Maybe one day if we have the time, we'll poke around some more. Thank you! 👍
Shovel? Handyman jack? Pick? Your stock hyd. jack? Is your spare full size? Flat repair kit? Tire pump? Sleeping bag? MRE's? Spare fluids? So far, to the point you're hung up, I've not seen anything my 3500 or my FJ40 couldn't do. This looks like something my wife could even drive. Never go alone. Slow & lo is the way to go...
I had all things you mentioned onboard and the knowledge how to use them, except for a shovel and pick, which I certainly should add. All in all it was not a bad road and I think any stock could make that no problem. Sometimes I up the drama factor to deter folks in passenger cars from wanting to attempt. The next thing I want to get is a second full size spare. A double side wall flat would strand me as it currently stands.
@CactusAtlas I also carry two full size spares for each vehicle. I used to off-road ralleye race. I might suggest that you up the ply rating on your Canyon/Colorado for this type of driving. They will handle 10 ply easily which helps in puncture resistance.
@CactusAtlas going to put that trail on our list to do. We're in SE Arizona now for the 'winter'. Out of Montana and Washington. Got some good tales if we ever meet...
If you are afraid you are going to damage your truck you should not use that truck off road. The good part after the first scratch the next one doesn't feel so bad. LOL
I think it's safe to say any vehicle owner, regardless of the scenario, prefers to postpone damage as long as possible. 😅 Neither of us are disillusioned about damage happening at some point. You kinda can't help it. 🤷♀️
Great video. I am looking to do this on a motorcycle. I want to do a "there and back." Could you be more specific on where the road comes out? Are there any gas stations close to the entrance or exit of your trip? I know if I do a round trip I will need a fill up at some point. Any guidance you can give me would be awesome. Also, could I ask where exactly you launched from so I can Google it? Thanks
Hi there! I began in Yucca AZ, and the easiest way to find the route is Google directions from Yucca to the Boriana Mine. I believe a bulk of the route is S Flag Mine Road. Pretty much took that up and over the mountains. On the other side, at some point I followed signs that took me down a well maintained county road (151) I believe, which comes out on US 93. The trick is going to be where to get fuel on the other side. You might have to drive north towards Kingman and I-40 which will be a little inconvenient. If you use something like OnX Offroad, you’ll see a lot of routes you can take, especially when you get on the east side, so maybe something else can put you out in a more convenient place. On the Yucca side, there’s a gas station right where you start, off of 40.
@@CactusAtlas Super helpful. Thank you. I think once I get the logistics worked out this trip will happen. Seems like you said somewhere in the video it is about a 50 mile trip? I might be confusing it with one of the other videos on your 10 best list? If I start on the other end then I could gas up right there in Yucca. That might be the ticket.
@@CactusAtlas Sorry if I am asking too many questions... hahahaha did you have phone service up there? I will be doing this ride by myself so I want to plan accordingly.
Slim is a fantastic narrator! Great video as always yall.
Thank you! Slim thanks you as well. 😄
This is one of your best videos!! I love the Slim “narrative” and sarcasm. Growing up on a ranch I laughed at your city slicker herding skills. Great content; keep up the great adventures!!!
Thank you so much! Glenn's herding skills may be questionable but he's definitely given life to Slim. 😄
Slim's narrations are hilarious.
He's quite the funny guy deep down. 😄
Slim's voice is as beefy as his tires. Like the word jackanapes! Leave it to Glen to scare the animals. The scenery is impeccable. Hi Amy. 5:24
(Hi there!) Haha! Beefy... love it! And leave it to Glenn to use the word "jackanapes". Never once heard him use that before! 🤣
🥰 love Slim's narration 🤭😂 and wry humour... beautiful views and drone footage, thank you, but 'do-do' dodging and Glenn stressing had me in stitches, fab episode y'all, keep 'em comin' 😂🤠
Glenn's, I mean Slim's sense of humor is pretty great. (Glenn actually edited this video! I'm not sure I could compete! 😅).
Slim channeling his best Sam Elliot. One of your very best Glen and Amy. I love this part of the state. Thank you.
👏👏👏 Yes! You got it! Sam Elliott was actually the inspiration for this particular voice. 😄
Very fun video to watch and I love slims voice. He even has a sense of humor. That is awesome for a white truck to be able to have his own mindset . Thank you for taking me along loved it.
Haha! Amazing what they put in cars now, right? 😉😂
Goldfish too cool

Sheer luck. 🤣

What a great scenic drive!
Between the drop off and the fallen rock…I’m glad to see that scenery from the safety of my couch.
Hahaha! Thanks! 😊 👍
Love the Slim interaction. “Top notch!” ❤️
Yay! So glad you like it! 👍

What a great and technical adventure.. glad slim didn’t take any damage.. those views makes it all worth it
Nothing major at least. Just a little scuff marks on one wheel but like scars, they tell about adventures we've had. 😄
Thank y'all for sharing this because THIS is the only way I'd see this country. HARD NO on riding or driving that "road" for me.
Anytime! It's certainly not a road for the faint of heart. 😅

very good thanks for showing us.
Our pleasure! Thanks for watching. 😄👍
Thank you, I just found your channel and subbed. I love the Southwestern states. Thank you for the videos. Will certainly watch. :)
Awesome! Thank you, and welcome aboard! 😄
Totally enjoying your new format of filming with “Slim” car vocals.🤪
Awesome! We're so pleased! 😄
Haha slim and his voice. He’s spicy
Haha! He can be sometimes, yes. 😅
Lol, I am wondering how much of Amy's influence is coming through Slim. Made me chuckle. Thanks for the fun adventure.
Actually... none whatsoever. Outside of the thumbnails and other RUclips into (title, description, etc), this is entirely Glenn's work from filming to editing. 😊

I still lose a little sleep after driving that one. 😂. It is uncomfortable for me to watch lol.
Is Needles part of the historic route 66? I really enjoyed your rocky off road adventure!
Yes, 66 passes through there. Thanks so much for watching!

You almost had a shitty day! lol- Cool video dude!
Definitely. Flipping the truck or rolling down a mountain was not on the agenda. 😅
Beautiful area. I live north of Prescot, I'll have to get over that way eventually. Thanks...
Thanks! Definitely explore that area if you have the opportunity. Lots of views and things to see. 😄👍
What AI are you using for slim? Love the narration
Slim just started talking, what do you mean? 🤣 Kidding. It's Eleven Labs.
I love Slim.... what a great guy 😂🥰🙃 Thanks for editing and sharing another entertaining video and a big hug from Germany!!!
Thank you! And to be honest, we're pretty fond of Slim too. 😊
I finally figured out the Slim voice thing. Took me a while and now I understand what was happening. Cute.
YAY! We weren't sure how Slim "talking" would be received but we thought it might be a fun way to add more humor to videos. 😄

50 miles from Yucca to I-93 sounds about right from what I can remember.

I found out that whenever there's a pond with goldfish in the pond. There are no mosquitoes because they eat the eggs of the mosquitoes.cool huh
Well, then! If only we lived in a region that wouldn't boil the goldfish in the summer! 😂 Very cool!
You've got a highly capable truck invest in some recovery gear a winch and learn how to use them.
