Please remember, this is behind the scenes of a video that will be released soon on my channel. Hope you enjoy :)
By the way, how much did you charge that customer for mowing that extra tall grass/. And did you have to sharpen your blades after you got done with that
Scythe
This is called western skunk cabbage. Wife called it from her green thumb mind. Confirmed with my software
I like it with some explanation rather than just straight action video. I feel like you describe just enough without getting boring.
‼️‼️I say that you don’t have much to worry about because the mower noise would chase it off‼️‼️
I’m Australian and people from overseas are terrified of the animals that we have in this country. And I agree that some can be scary. But we do not have any animal that can stalk and kill you like a cougar, or a bear, or a mountain lion. The snakes and spiders don’t hunt us down to kill us, and are mainly timid and shy and more afraid of us, except perhaps a grumpy bull shark. I certainly feel, safer in our bush than I would in yours 😂
Cougars are mountain lions, but it's understandable. A lot of Americans like me get their "animal info" from the old documentaries of Steve Irwin.
Exactly!
Might be a contentious comment but while I consider 'most' firearms to be owned by people that use them purely for stoking their egos, there ARE a heck of a lot of folks who NEED them for actual protection.
It's also while I consider SAFE firearm handling should be taught in schools - those being taught may never need the training, but it should cut down on some of the accidental shootings because people handle them un-safely.
It's a hell of a thing to be alone in a thick canopied forest hours from anyone else. Every noise you hear makes your heart skip.
All you got crocodiles! And jellyfish that can kill you on the beach!
@@jessepruit8385 😂😂 No crocs or poisonous jelly fish in southern Australia where I am. Those nasty creatures prefer the water to be warm, like the alligators in Florida, and we don’t have it as badly as that. I’ve never seen a salt water croc on a golf course here, unlike there with the alligators but you will get Roos on the gold course.. 😅
What a Monday. Truck problems, tire problems, mower problems, wildlife problems. I bet you were glad to call it a day. 😅
IMHO, no wild animals would be hanging around with all the noise that equipment is making.
this being the first BTS video I've watched, Fill.... I can't help but be Impressed. AWESOME job, as always!!!
I was thinking the same thing!
😂 ya, no freaking way any wildlife is going anywhere near that noise! Just watch a cat and vacuum interact.
@@koanbonwa LOL so true!!!
I agree. Animals won't stay with all that noise. Live in Central Oregon High Desert with coyotes, cougar, racoons, deer and elk to name a few. Other than nibbling in our plants, we've never had a problem with wild life. Our trouble is with neighbor feral cats!
I enjoy when you get chatty. I have had black bears in my area and I know there's skunk around here somewhere 😅. The tall grass can be exciting because you don't know what 's hidden.
Ticks, chiggers, snakes, wasps, abandoned metal and glass; and other things that leave substantial marks...gotta love country life!
@@bryancondrey6457Don't forget hornets!
That's why I miss my 1969 Plymouth valiant. Never had problems. Everything is electric anymore. Love your videos. Be safe
Thanks for taking us along. I live in Twisp, Washington, so I totally understand about living frontier rual. We often catch cougars on our trail cameras set up around our property. The closest we've come to actually meeting face to face was when one crossed my tracks after a rain storm. I walked over from our small cabin to where my husband was working on his big shop building. When we walked back about 10 minutes later, there were cougar tracks beside mine. But those are things you learn to expect when you move into their territory. Mostly the wildlife will avoid people if you respect their domain. (P.S. - All our pets are indoors unless we're out with them.)
A cougar and a mountain lion or panther or puma are the same thing. It's strange how calming these videos are.
Actually there is no such thing as a 'panther'. Panther is a genus, not a species. So you get panthera Leo (lion), panthera Tigris (tiger), etc. So, for example, a 'black panther' is just a leopard (or jaguar) with genetic hyperpigmentation. Cougars/pumas/mountain 'lions' and cheetahs are actually closer to house cats than they are to big cats.
@@the_once-and-future_king. Right. I'm referring to the words people in the US use to refer to the same animal, just different locals.
@justnana2256 Ah right! Well you've now got a fun fact to amaze your friends with. Lol.
@@justnana2256 Be extra careful around black Panthers
@@googleuser868 I've only seen 2 cougars in Kansas in my lifetime and game wardens say they are usually juvenile males passing through but I've seen hundreds of tracks, Including small tracks with large tracks. Was told they were of a bobcat following a cougar. Okay.
I appreciate the speed at which you video your work. You had a lot to contend with, and you handled it very well, and I love the solution of using your ram to get out of a tight spot! Well done!
Brother that’s some hard work. I live in Oklahoma where I deal with copper heads every time I mow. About 3 times a week in summer so I understand about being prepared for animals you might encounter. It’s scary sometimes but as long as we can adapt and learn we will be safe and thrive 👍
I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for all your hard work.
Don't want your equipment hurt, but don't want animals hurt either. I realize that's not easy! Thanks
I can’t believe how green and lush this yard is. I live in Southern California (with 292 days a year of sun) and I rarely see yards like this simply because of the water needed to maintain it. Here we have to deal with “brush clearance” rules in the summer because of our volatile fire season come Autumn. If you don’t clear it, the City will and send you the bill.
My daughter lives in So Cal, we are Hoosiers. She's tried convincing me and my husband to move to California. I would not be able to leave my lush green and beautiful midwest. I have seen the parched ground in California. No thank you.
You did awesome with that over grown yard always awesome and thanks for sharing 👍.
Coyotes and mountain lions ... now that's something they don't tell you about in the brochure! Also, thanks for reminding us lawn groupies how often you have to reposition the camera. Another great job, by a consummate professional. Txs for sharing.
I feel this. We have been having an unprecedented amount of rain here in northern Wyoming, and I have been unable to mow for months. Field is about four feet high, and the other day I ran across bear scat. They've already had to euthanize two bears in the last month within a couple miles of my place, so we're always on alert. We also have mountain lions that have been seen in the area. I don't go out of the house unarmed, and nobody blinks when folks here mow or garden with a gun on their hip!😆
Man I sure hope you enjoy mowing as much as I love watching. You do GREAT work. May God bless you real good.
I'm glad you did a lot of talking. I did not know you were from the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks for sharing this - God Bless you for doing this act of kindness!
Great video and thanks for the captions!!!
We love everything we do. Great job
Great video Fill! That mower is awesome to do that tall grass!
Great job as always Fill. God bless you and your family.
Great job Fill, have a great day!
Don’t be afraid of mountain lions, Phil you got the Toro on your side . 😂
Awesome job!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
I've had days like that. It's good to see you still have your usual optimism.
We believe in our protection here in Texas but also we don't go looking for trouble. Consider carrying but as always think ahead and stay safe.
Yikes, I thought you were going to disappear in that grass! I'm glad you didn't hit anything. Now it looks so much better. I wouldn't want to drive right up against tall grass. Who knows what could jump out! It looks really good. Risky but nice results.
I love these videos ❤ love the chatting. Have a great rest of the week. 😊
That was a jungle Fill! I am surprised that you would even consider putting your equipment through that! However, you still did a great job knocking it down! At some point I hope we'll see the end result of all you edging once it's completed!
That's what things look like in the PNW if you don't mow for about a month. The vegetation around here is crazy, but it's also why the area is so awesome, err, I mean it sucks and everyone should stay away.
As a fellow yardwork video maker.... The constant stopping to reposition the camera... omg that's my life, so relatable :D Its like all I do is move my camera, I spend more time doing that than actually running my equipment!
We appreciate it.
Need that 1 real viral video so you can upgrade to just running 3-4 cameras at the same time.
I am told a cougar can be distracted with a vodka martini.
I love both of your channels. It's amazing what those mowers can do. Be careful out there.
Great job mowing that jungle. Praying for ya so that you have no cougar encounters. God Bless you Fill! Take care. 😊
Looks awesome. Thank you for video. Blessings to you.
Lots of hard work. Great job.
Ventrac and Flail mower - the next ticket for your next adventure in growing your business abilities :) Love you - big thumbs up great video 👍👍👍👍
DANG!!! You went WAAAY beyond the design specs on that mower from what I can see. I am amazed it EVER made it through that mess!! That is sickle bar kind of weeds. You really knocked it out there. Bet that was a LOOOONG day. Thanks for showing us all.
This property was insane Fill, wow. Nice job though and a great video to watch bud. Stay well :)
Enjoyed the video Fill 😊
Phil, I love your videos. Maybe getting different sponsors you can definitely grow your business
That charger should check out really good for solar charging. It’s one of the better ones. I’m looking forward to see what you get from it.
First time viewing your videos, awesome job! I'm not a lawncare person by any means, but just an observation here, I think next time when running into a bumpy area, try to do 1/3passes instead of a full pass, probably not too efficient, but it would probably help you avoid getting stuck. Thanks for the videos they are great!
It seemed to me that he was doing partial passes.
You need a mower with a floating deck and full suspension.
Sorry to hear about the issues, that saying, when it rains it pours, I hope your day gets better, thank you for all you do and for your caring heart, May the Lord Jesus bless you
Great video 💙
Great job 👍
I enjoyed the video. That is some tall grass and I am glad you didn’t see the cougars. ❤
I enjoy these behind the scenes videos as well. Was lovely to see the trees and rural setting for a change of scenery. Hopefully the cougars didn't show up later on!
Great job. That grass was really tall & thick
Nice job, that looked like wheeling a header into a corn field at harvest time 😁. As you said most of that was a job for a ventrac or HD mower, your stand on did really well under the circumstances. Would have liked to see the end result tho
the rest included in next video? Got that. 😳🤔
Excellent, and God Bless you as well!
Enjoyed watching this video...wanted to see more🥺 oh well, I'll catch the next one😊
My ma is 80 and disabled, I am 43 and disabled, our backyard is roughly to that level, but it is at least enclosed, the biggest thing (once we get the riding mower fixed) is ground wasps. Sometimes life gets in the way, it's not like we wanted it to get to this stage, but when the only people that will do it want $100/hr, well you do what you gotta do. Our HOA hates us, but it's our back yard and we have a 6' fence, they can bugger off. Thanks for taking care of those of us that are in the mud and can't always get things taken care of.
Also, cougars are pretty laid back, don't act like prey and you are pretty much golden, if you take a look at trail cam footage when a human sees a cougar on the path, the cougar usually looks like when you catch your dog chewing up your shoes... The cougar wants to be *anywhere* other than in front of you.
Thanks Fill…..looking good! ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸
lol, well, I think your mower probably has the same effect on a cougar as a vacuum has on a house cat. Stay safe out there.
Good video Fill.
You’re doing just fine my friend. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Great job Fill looking good.
Love behind the scenes. Keep yourself safe. Best to have permit and holster for gun when needed in country setting and why.nice job fil.good choices. Thanks for neighbor telling you about wild animals in location, working.
Какое красивое и тихое место! Но работы здесь непочатый край, конечно. Берегите себя, Фил!
Great job. If you had or rented a flail mower you wouldn’t have had to go over each line 3 times. They are amazing equipment.
I wish I had a proper flail mower, I got the derpiest and probably dangerous flail mower/brush hog in the area and ppl love to take pictures of it. I took the rear dif off my old dead truck and hung some chains off it and pull it behind my go-kart for the really rough stuff and it works pretty decent, gets it down to where its managable with the mower. but when those chains go.....it gets sketchy quick.
I love that stand behind. That thing looks like it mows like a dream. I'd like to have one someday. Great video man. I'd be carrying a sidearm if there's a possibility of getting into it with a cougar.
Very Satisfying to watch! ✌️❤️🥓
hey pardner, I would implore you to take a gander at some "Kavil" blades, when attempting tall stuff like that..they are pretty awesome... great video pardner, be safe... :)
I enjoy your commentary. Powerful machines so satisfying to watch. Blessings
That mower is a beast! I need one of those!
Great job! Is that a 48” deck you are using?
Just found this 2nd channel: for all the camera moving and tripod shuffle, I subbed and liked! I don't comment much except 👍, so 👍
Copper Creek has one of those mowers you are talking about-great along long stretches of roadways...I believe they are $40,000+
Your mower cuts like a champ.
You are in the Pacific Northwest and we are in the Atlantic Southeast. Great video. Thank you
Wow...just WOW!!
Why am I watching this? Because it’s intensely satisfying for some reason that’s hard to explain. As a young boy I gave myself my own crewcuts. I would imagine I was mowing the lawn. Now I’m 68 and hide a weak bald spot, but I still love mowing!
Good job stay safe 👍
Just a tip for you: the main problem with the truck is the brand, they are notorious for lots of service issues..apparently they use a lot of car parts on their trucks, in other words, light duty parts for a truck.. good video, tough Monday! Keep up the good work my friend! 👍
Perhaps you will now get a bush hog sponsorship. 😃
Was thinking that…..👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Cougar vs Multiforce???🤔🤔🤔🤔😅😅😅
@-FillsLawnCarePlus Won?
Bad Boy!
Lol,do you really think he's smart enough to think like that. Well maybe now that you mentioned it
Good topics you are talking about, that people need to be aware of. That was a lot of tall stuff to knock down. You also inadvertently showed some how much you have to work at videoing while working, because of requirement "to be interesting". Good use of your truck to get unstuck
How do you figure a price to mow a property like that one?
dunno about Fill, but we usually charge 4x the price of a normal cut since you gotta usually knock it all down, plus triple cut it to mulch it up good, and then slap on an extra 100 incase we break a blade or throw a spindle. in my area the yards are usually little postage stamp lots so they for 35 to 40 a normal cut, overgrown as heck they usually looking at 200 to 300 to be bought back to 4 inches tall. Sounds outragous, but the fines from the city here are worse, and the city will come do it if you dont have it done, and will put a lien on the house and eventually take it from ya if they gotta keep doing it.
I was still laughing about your baby cougar and mama cougar comment and then you get stuck! You tried your other mower to get out and then in the next shot there is your big ol truck! You are very entertaining even when you aren't mowing!
You really need to use the weed eater first so you can scope the ground and clean at the same time. Use a wire line .
With love,
Your arm chair boss, lol 😂
❤❤Subscribed thank you for sharing 🙏 😊 from Maureen in New Zealand ❤❤
Nice Work looks good
Good JOB Fill Keep UP Good Work
I so love my North Idaho. I mowed some grass for my neighbor that was about half as tall as what you have here. I got stuck in mud once and used my car (4Runner) to get it unstuck. Pretty much just like you did. I loved it!
Sandpoint here....this is why I have a lawnmower man. 😊
Happy 4th. I miss it so much. Some of my most favorite 4ths on Pend Oreille River in Priest River!
@@nancyhamblin8509 big doings down at the lake tonight. Happy 4th of July to you.🎉🎆☺
Praise the Lord his mercy endures forever✝️
Nothing you can't handle!
The good Lord will provide, Fill. GOD doesn't give us anything we can not handle. Blessings to you. Keep up the good work.
great job
Good job. Take care. Watching from Maine We have a black bear coyote moose deer n turkeys. Haven’t see any cougars. Bless you
Great video! Dang, cougar!!❤❤❤
Oh that bracken fern grew all over my
property in Washington. Well everywhere! 😂
I did that for one summer, boy was it hot. Some places the grass wouldn’t grow for lack of rain. In some cases it was strictly lack of maintenance. ❤️ watching someone else do it. Be careful. 🐎🦁✌️
Which State are you from, Fill? Cougars, I can’t imagine, possibly snakes, gosh sounds dangerous. What a large ppty to clear, that grass was so high. That neighbour was kind in letting you know of the possible danger. Take care, God Bless from Australia 🇦🇺
First mistake shiny new equipment, used equipment and truck was my go to. Gotta say a tire patch kit from Nothern tool would be a good idea for air tires.
Brush hog time! Looks great 👍👏💚
Great job mowing
Oh my goodness, please be careful. ❤
I live in the Arizona desert and just finished mowing my lawn in 110 degree heat and caught myself thinking, "this guy makes it look fun!" 😄
I'm in Texas. This guy is wearing a hoody in the middle of summer! crazy.
Welcome to the land of Reed Canary Grass and Common Tansy and the rough ground they seem to thrive. I usually mow 1" shorter (3.5") than maximum height (4.5") so when I become high centered I can raise deck and get unstuck. You can also drive the mower across the ground without blade turning to find the hazards. My mower is a Cub Cadet ZTS1 46" so does not need to be commercial to tackle these sites.
That Kohler has been a real solid engine!
The noise your making is enough to get them moving to higher ground I’m sure🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤great video.
