Wow, well articulated. I always love hearing the ground truth from folks who have actually been on the ground in China and experience firsthand what is happening there.
It's obvious you were not the only one. The Chinese leadership, most especially Xi, probably thought the same. And its not just political risk. Xi's zero Covid policy to eliminate Covid in China showed the world the problem with relying on a single country for your entire supply chain. So its not just that India will replace China as the world's manufacturing hub - these huge multinational corps are spreading out their manufacturing to multiple locations mostly in SE Asia. The many countries in SE Asia make sense as that region already has a huge supply of transport options/routes and the Singapore shipping hub is the busiest in the world. Discrimination against foreign companies is so severe. Taxation, environmental laws, labor laws, etc. are applied more strictly to foreign companies. Many companies can no longer survive. This is also gradually decreasing due to the U.S. regulation of equipment exports to China, and will drop to zero if their Xian lines are closed. Investors have restructured and divested from China ever since CCP's clampdown and mandates crippled their operation. This trend is ruefully accelerating.
China has covetous eyes for every country around them. That’s their solution propping up their country. They see places with money and try to take it by any means necessary.
CCP will default to blaming others for their own problems because its easier than putting in the vast effort needed to fix those problems. CCP only has short term viewpoint of maximum extraction, stealing IP, and spreading propaganda against foreigners. It just destroys any long term prospects for foreign investors. Therefore making foreign investment unbearable. On top of that, with U.S. increasing trade tariffs on China, business owners have realized its more profitable to move manufacturing to countries like India where their investment is welcomed.

It's worse, because most manufacturing hubs rely on foreign export markets. These economic hubs/districts relied heavily on the middle-class to buy consumer goods, and they also relied heavily on immigrant/rural workers. The future isn't only mass unemployment, it's asset siezure of banks entirely. Not accounts, entire banks and franchises/branches. There will be weekly or monthly "Scapegoat operations" to find "troublemakers" selling rice or fish grown at home, collecting rainwater and other 'evils' , sales with fake buyers and fake sellers to improve local stats and hide metrics. Because the CCP can't find itself guilty of crimes against the people, they won't police themselves. Instead, it will turn on the people helping others to prevent groups from forming or gathering grievances. workers, worshippers, farmers, everyone capable of meeting other people will be broken or beaten to stop potential thoughts of going alone or leaving china. And, it will also be logistics chain breakdowns, and city based food shortages. As the density of people thins out in city areas, the costs to operate will be higher, with less customers, so food will become scarcer, more expensive as low-margin companies withdraw. Without middle-class spending, people leaving due to crumbling debt-laden banking, the local economy will collapse, but there won't be government to support the recovery. People won't buy up the failed companies or start over because there's no reliable bankruptcy laws in place, and new/old business operators will be taxed more heavily to start up, to pay for the failures of local government leaders. Entire industrial cities will collapse because the CCP got greedy and wanted to restrict capital outflow in the Post-Evergrande debt collapse. So instead of chasing revenue, they chased out competition.

This will disrupt and create more issues in China.
