- After a troubled firefighter (Mark Consuelos) rescues a workaholic author (Chandra West), a friendship blooms that finds the two collaborating on a firehouse cookbook and reconsidering their futures.
Grace Harlan, who writes for Fidelity Publishing which solely publishes "How to..." styled books, has her life planned to the second with her fiancé Cliff, the two year plan being for both to work hard now to buy a house in an upscale suburban neighborhood which they probably could barely afford before getting married. Grace has had this need for control in her life ever since the unexpected death of her father. Their plan doesn't sit well with her BFF and co-worker, newlywed Jen, who believes they are squandering their time away being workaholics for an end which will only take them further away from their friends and a life. Firefighter Steve Lockwood has been reckless in his job ever since the death of his wife Molly a year ago. Refusing to go into therapy to deal with his anger, he is suspended indefinitely by the fire chief, Captain Washington. Steve's younger single brother Frank, a fellow firefighter who is generally unsuccessfully on the prowl, just wants Steve to get back to having a real life as opposed to moping alone at home. A second chance encounter between Steve and Grace leads to Grace reevaluating her A-type controlled life for putting some true meaning back in what she chooses to do in a day-in and day-out basis. In wanting some passion placed in the ideas she pitches to her boss Alicia instead of pitching what she thinks will sell, Grace decides she wants to write a book on the life at Steve's firehouse, most specifically their work in combination with the food they create during their down time, with Steve known as the best chef in their house, although cooking is another of those things he has put aside in his retreat from life. In working on the book project, Steve begins slowly to come back to life as he falls for Grace. Thus watching her get married to another man may just make him retreat back into his depression.

Enjoyed this story. Handsome Mark Consuelos as a firefighter and attractive Chandra West as a writer of books were perfect for their parts. A fire changes the course of both of their lives.
This is a lovely movie and it speaks to the beauty of having your life priorities in right order. I enjoyed every moment of it❤.

Not sure about climbing up the drain pipe to save her but guess true love wins out in the end sailing off into the sunset in a wedding limo 🤞💞😇🥁. Right place - right time - whether one believes or not - some people come into one's life for a reason, a season or for life.
So many personnel is unrecognized as personnel especially in first aid and CPR not nurses or doctors but trainers or instructors too. Agreed

Kelly R's hubby seems like such a great man. I like how he's always stayed true to her. He's a good actor as well. Its nice that he didn't kiss another woman staying true to his vows, even acting and not kissing anyone else but his wife, Kelly R. This was a wonderful movie, thank you.
This was back when Hallmark really made great movies with wonderful story lines about real life everyday people
I remember seeing this movie when it debuted back in 2008, and I have been looking for it on RUclips. What a great movie! I remember seeing Chandra West in "The David Cassidy Story" back in January of 2000, and she's a very talented actress. She was great in this movie, as well. Thank you so much for uploading this!

Having been a firefighter for over 20 years, not a bad movie. But why doesn't she have oxygen on her in the hospital? Little things that don't make sense. Pretty lady saved by a handsome firefighter. They need more of these.
I LOVE this movie but a part is missing - the wonderful convo they had about why they are NOT right for each other at the bottom of those stairs!

Seriously - even though it's just a movie & whether you're a romantic or not - what a comment to make. That's what fire fighters do - save lives. Don't think they were a couple to begin with. The right people got together & helped each other out in the end.

Why was it never addressed to the fact that the idiot left burning candles next to the curtains? It was her fault and additional consequences were not leeved.

Never heard of Mark Consuelos until he bought a piece of an Italian football team(soccer), 2 years ago.
He's one of the stakeholders with his wife Kelly.
Seems really a good guy.
