When they came back, my sister was covered in ticks. We stopped counting when we got to 300. That place is a crazy breeding ground for those blood sucking disease carriers. The allergy you mentioned, Alpha-gal Syndrome, is a life threatening allergy developed when a tick bites an animal that has the sugar galactose-α-1,3-galactose (Alpha-gal) in it's blood. That tick then bites you and transfers the sugar into your blood where your body identifies it as a foreign agent and attacks it.
