I was eating a beautiful diet (plant and animal based without dairy and gluten free, more paleo) while taking a calcium supplement and exercising. I watched my bones deteriorate over a five year period through Dexa scans. It wasn't until I resolved a sub-clinical parasitic and mold infection along with three cavitations that my bones recovered from osteoporosis back to almost normal. I was recently diagnosed with Lyme. I HIGHLY recommend anyone struggling with osteoporosis to go to a functional doctor for functional testing for mold and lyme and assume they have parasites. I did five parasite/stool tests and they were ALL negative! Spend the money and do a nutrient deficiency test and work on giving your body what it needs while working on all the sub-clinical infections that don't show up on blood work! And, fix your digestion! If you don't have stomach acid you are not absorbing your food. think about it?! If your bones are osteoporosis it is because your blood keeps pulling minerals from your bones to keep homeostasis. Ask yourself why are you so acidic? If food and supplement don't correct within 6 months, dig deeper. Things I wish I had known or had a doctor who knew!
