    I have to thank you for the info about the left rear and gate lock being the same. I swapped the parts to make the gate work again until I get around to fixing the left rear now. I left the left pass door unplugged for now. Its much easier to reach in and unlock that door than not having access to the gate.

    Yesterday, on the way to work, the power locks on my 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited were engaging and disengaging, while I was driving.
    After that happened, every time I attempt to manually engage the power lock switch on the driver's door, up, or down, nothing happens.
    What do you think might be the issue causing that failure?

    • @2shareinfo363
      @2shareinfo363  Год назад +1

      It would seem that you had some sort of short between the power lock switch and the locks themselves that finally burned out or blew a fuse. Check your fuses first. if you find that the fuse for the door locks is blown, check continuity to see if the circuit is grounding out, then if warranted, replace the fuse and diagnose from there... I hate electrical gremlins!!!
      If you are mechanically limited, you may want to take it to a trusted mechanic.

      @jeffdugger3276 Год назад

      @@2shareinfo363 Edited: Thank you for your advice.
      Last night, 25 February, I changed out the yellow 20 Amp fuse in the number six position, left side, that pertains to BCM/Power Locks, and that seems to have fixed the issue. (The old fuse looked burnt on the terminal ends)
      And I know all too well about gremlins. My Jeep has had its share of wiring harness issues over the years.

      If you are moving the little swing latch, that should do it. If that doesn't do it, you may need to go to a body shop. Wish I had better news.

    Okay, not my EXACT problem, but good enough info to get me fixed I think. My rear gate will not lock, hence even if the rest of the Jeep is locked up, someone can still open the back glass and gate. Now, if it gets opened the horn will sound, but the problem is, it still opens. I will come back here tomorrow, and let you know if I got it fixed.

    • @2shareinfo363
      @2shareinfo363  6 лет назад

      I'm not clear on your issue. Window actuators and the door latches are two separate systems. The hatch does have a switch in the handle that opens the rear window but the side passenger doors have totally independent operating systems.

    • @colleenmaglothin2482
      @colleenmaglothin2482 6 лет назад

      2shareinfo thank you for responding. This was the closest to my issue I could find. I was looking up issues with the hatch because mine has gone from sometimes not catching to not catching at all and ringing because the gate is open. Before that all my windows gave out.i used a bunch of empty two liters to hold the door windows up.

    • @2shareinfo363
      @2shareinfo363  6 лет назад +1

      Colleen, I have had to replace a couple of the window actuators in the doors. I have not posted a video on that or the hatch latch but there are some videos available to help you through. The rear gate as I said has a switch in the handle that tells the window latch when to unlatch and push the hatch glass up. Again, there are some decent videos to help you through. These repairs are fairly simple and shouldn’t intimidate you. It is unfortunate that all of these issues seem to appear at about the same time, but that’s pretty much what happened to me. You can order Doorman aftermarket parts that are pretty much the same as OEM and believe it or not you can get most of it from Amazon or Rock Auto or Parts Geek. Be sure that you look at the descriptions carefully to insure you getting the proper parts. Hope this offers a little more help. Blessings. 2shareinfo

      @@2shareinfo363 I recently received the tailgate liftgate latch actuator that I ordered from ebay. I removed the old one and then I began to compare the two. The new one wouldn't due to the screw holes were in the wrong location. The single hole need to be on the left and the 2 holes on the bottom. My part had the single on the top right. Also, the little bracket that the little rod attaches to should also be on the left side. Mine was on the right. The part said it was for the tailgate but there is no way that it would work.
