I've never played "pro events", but I've played enough amateur tournaments and I've never experienced anyone being "unsupportive". You're always happy to see someone play good golf :)

You know when you're a kid and your nan or granddad hasn't seen you in a months or so? The first they say is, "Look how much you've grown!" Your parents don't notice because they spend every day with you... Yeah. Well, I've not been online for almost a year and the difference in the rhythm of Pete's swing is quite something. No more thrashing. Nice and steady pendulum action that still maintains the power. Great to watch. And congrats on the win. 👍

These competition videos have been a joy to watch. You’ve been playing so well. It’s really cool coming from all your instructional videos and then watching you play comps. Makes you very easy to root for and I’m still cheering you to qualify for the open. That would be epic. Keep killing it.

Thanks for sharing Pete. Whilst you're putting yourself out there and sharing your vulnerabilities, it's reassuring to know it's not just me that goes through the same mental battles when playing in comps. Besides, I'd love to have a "bad" round like yours. Seriously though, I think you're way too hard in yourself. I've always through you tea stellar golfer. I know you'll overcome your thoughts and enjoy the fact that you get to do think as your job. Congratulations on winning. I know you've got more in you 🙌🏽
well said, I agree James - Pete - great to see you playing so well - but have a look through the two rounds and check how many shots you play where yo are very hard on yourself and shake your head ... you then go and recover from those shots - but I think the self talk isnt helping you .... play the shot - if its not right or as you want - learn from it and move on to play the next from where it lies - you're recover was really good. In my past I was told to think of it as levels ... if you do yourself down "bad shot" etc ... its -1 for each time (could even be -3 from one shot) ... and if you think - that's great, good shot .. its plus one ... ( thats "ok" is 0) back to level is great - review your vid and guess where you would have been on that last 18th tee ??? Keep it going Pete - challenges ahead :)
Very well played. And very good lesson from Paddy put into affect. You clearly have good shots in you, and focusing on the bad ones, just restrict your ability to hit good ones. Just enjoy the good ones and make the most of them. Congrats!
100% don’t shoot yourself down when playing. Golf is a mental game as much as a skill game. Keep that positive attitude that we all enjoy and just be grateful for the good shots and don’t worry about the bad. That way you don’t have your expectations messed up you up and you usually do better than you think in the end.

Peter is the best driver of the golf ball on RUclips, there isn't even a close second. He just need to tighten is irons up. Aim small miss small. There is not reason to be aiming 20 years right or left of a pin inside of 150 yards, even in the wind. This guy has some great talent.

Excellent “Voice Over” without so much commentary while playing was a nice change . . . was expecting you to add a “fluttering pie” for each birdie . . . 1 for the first birdie, 2 for the second and so on . . . Nice round . . . Now go back and play the course just for us and attack the drivable par 4s and let’s see what you’d shoot!!! You drive the ball straight enough to take more chances.

Difficult listen at times it has to be said but many congratulations on the win Pete. I’m sure some of the overseas watchers will think these shorter yardage courses appear somewhat of a pushover but the Brits who’ve played a lot here totally get it.

Part of mindfulness for mental health is listening to what you say to yourself. Then ask if you heard that being said to someone you love would you think it fair or bullying. You are a supremely talented golfer who bully’s yourself when you make a mistake. As your lesson pointed out. You will make mistakes. When you hear the critical voice in your head bullying just remind it who is in control.
So the key is, have a goal that rewards food? Right up your alley😂😂 Good job!
