- This week we pass through Georgetown on the way to the winner spot, Cobbold Gorge! We were lucky to get in here as they extended their tourist season for two weeks so we snapped up a booking super quick! We also pass through Einsleigh, a small town which is often missed (but well worth the stop if your into country pubs and small towns). Stay for a night if you can and support these locals who have done it tough through COVID!

We loved Cobbold Gorge, we also did paddle boarding up the gorge, first time on a paddle board, loads of fun. That pool is amazing, was a tad cool when we were there. With the dust we put clear cheap contact over the vents, quick and easy on and off and did a great job, no dust.

Storms just aren’t the same in Brisbane any more! Maybe it’s that global warming thing who knows but it’s definitely changed… It’s been a really cool experience to be around them again 🥰 ⛈
Get a positive vent fan to pressurise the van so no dust gets in. There are two on the market, dometic and another one that trip in a van have

We are blessed to have such a vast country with so many hidden gems, I wish we could visit them all but it seems even with research, we still miss some!
Another ripper episode !. We've done the Dinosaur trail several times, and were gonna do it again in June. Each time we do the trail, we find 'off the beaten track' gems and surprises.
I can imagine, it’s such a big area it’s be hard to cover everything in one trip!!

Good spots. Plenty to see inland. Lol, nearly enough drone. What, no bath scenes, lol, just kidding Chris. You can buy wider rolls of tape Sian, only need masking tape unless raining, just make it quicker and easier.
Ah we’re getting there then, it’s an improvement 😂... this was a good drone episode though I think, just depends where we are and when we’re allowed to fly as well! Thanks for the tips too ☺️
You have a pressure hatch over your bed, open this on dusty roads, it pressurises the caravan as you drive and it stops the dust entering the van. We use ours all the time, we still get a little coating near the door.
We tried this and it was the worst dust we have EVER had come into the van, I won’t ever open it again!! Both ours and another van in our convoy had the same issue. And we were at the front of the convoy too. I feel like it depends on the shape of the car and van and where that dusty air flow goes as ours poured straight in for two hours and it was a big clean up, the biggest I’ve ever had, I won’t forget that day in a hurry 😂

Loved this episode thanks for 2 great extras. On the vents in our caravan we use Clear Contact Paper. I cut it to the size required for each vent and have them pre cut to size. Might be quicker then the tape just for the vents. You can get at Woolworth, Big W, Officeworks, Amazon and probably hardware stores. Thanks again love your vids.
That is a really great idea, we have been told a couple of times but I’m yet to buy and try it, I really need to! I’ve added clear contact to the list today so I don’t forget!! 🙌🏻 you watch, next time I’ll probably still tape everything and then remember I bought the contact 😂😂

We live in the Cairns area so it has been great watching you guys come up, past & now out west. The Gulf country is Beaut if you get out there.
**How far behind are the vids compared to when you were there? (about a month or two) As Georgetown has coped a lot of rain the last few weeks.
My daughter is the same, any different colour or sparkely rock is picked up & put in the car, amazing what she finds.

OH NO NOT THE OLD OPEN roof hatch bugger
Australian standards means they can’t be sealed because of the gas cooker, a bad design fault really considering if you didn’t have a roof hatch no air would get out anyway, so why not seal the hatch? 🤷🏼♀️ fixed now! ☺️

It is nice having space sometimes hey, being packed into a busy van park isn’t always the greatest 😣 we’re all good, they’ve lifted the border restriction with NT so we’ve cut our trip short and getting back to the van, we fly today actually! Fingers crossed nothing gets worse in Brissy over the coming days 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hey guys, what were the tyres in the campground at Cobbold Gorge
They were concreted in the middle and had a sullage pipe to put your hose in. We had two sites but congregated in the middle so all of the ‘facilities’ look oddly placed but it’s actually how we decided to park our vans lol

They have a Legend Caravan, cool company by the sounds and can’t fault their van. 🤙🏻
What seal did you put on the roof hatch? TIA

Hi Big Oz Ex, love your work team. I have a bloody Y62 S5 problem after
watching your videos. I have a 2019 Ranger Raptor and a 2T Opus OP4
camper. The Raptor is not set up to tow this well. Boss Suspension in
Sydney has developed an airbag for the arse end of the Ranger Raptor
which will be ready in next few weeks. I also have a vehicle broker
offering me a great deal on a S5, Y62. Do I go with airbag rear end on
the Raptor, or trade the Raptor in on the new Patrol? What to do?
Off memory the raptor is only a 2.5t towing capacity isn’t it? That leaves you quite short if you ever want to upgrade or really pack the camper. To be honest we are biased now as the Patrol is just a beast over our old Ranger. The only downside you may experience (that’s if you call it a downside) it that it is a V8 and fuel consumption will be anywhere from 5-10L/100km more than what your running now. If we were in our situation again knowing what we know now, hands down we’d choose the patrol. For comfort, space, appearance, towing, everything! I hope I have helped but like I said, we are biased I think 🙊🙊

We were in the Cape AUG-SEPT 2020 right before the rain season! They haven’t always been great travellers, it’s an adjustment for the whole family in the beginning ☺️

You guys are going into wet season area. Is that current causing any issue on your travel? Road closure and attraction area not opening etc
We’re already in Darwin and the wet is in full swing! At least we’ll be the first tourists here and ready to go when the skies clear 😉 we haven’t had too many issues to be honest as we have seen a lot of the NT stuff in a previous trip (pre Big Oz existing)

At Cobbold Gorge you mean? No there isn’t. You can fill up at either Georgetown or the Lynd Oasis Roadhouse depending what direction you come from though.
