Big uproar, you know how that all went down. I told my mom at the time and she goes we were going to go there for lunch. I looked and said it's still open, we're still going. She says you sure and I'm like absolutely. When I tell you we never had a more on point service or experience with the food. There were no less than a dozen managers from a round the state that we wandering the floor with thermometers in hand checking and changing everything! Sometimes all it takes is a little controversy.
One of best golden corrals is oddly in small town of Bedford, Indiana. Place has won awards according to people. They have been pretty good when I’ve been there for lunch buffet on occasion.
We love GC for weekend breakfast but I too have noticed changes since covid. It's hit and miss on food quality and I do believe the difference is the management from location to location.
This reminds me off the Golden Corral in Dublin Ohio when I was a kid vs last time i went(probably 10 years ago). It was always a treat and the food was actually pretty good when i was little. Then at some point it was like leftovers from other restaurants served buffet style. Below cafeteria quality food and just kind of depressing being there. I'm pretty sure its closed now, thankfully. I live about an hour away and I havent been to the area in awhile.

My local one was def terrible after starting out Then corporate found out some dirty dealings going on, fired EVERYONE. Got all new staff, and it became amazing. Then the lock down murdered it. Tragic....

i love the one in Arundel Mills, MD. they have to be a 5star since they're right next to the casino. the all you can eat steak is one of the best deals ever. it's really underrated steak and it ain't chuck either. they have really underrated fried chicken too. One of the other best deals ever is the bacon in the morning that you can eat nonstop. i loved when they used to have fried clam strips but haven't seen them in a long time.
We had a Golden Corral in Orange CT that was like cafeteria food-poor quality and the meat station didn’t open til later in the night and was ok..it closed last year!! The closest one is in Massachusetts!!
Used to live right up the street from the Rockford Golden Corral. It was always pretty decent back in the day, but I did stop going after noticing a dip in service/food quality, so I’m not shocked to see it all just kept going downhill to the point they are 1 star worthy 😂

Yeah I've been to a bad one star in North Little Rock, AR, but the LR/NLR area restaurants are have more one stars and hardly any four stars. The fault is directed to people that don't give 2 Fs about their work. The one in Fayetteville, AR is a 3, Branson, MO is a 4, and my hometown of Fort Smith, AR jumps back and forth from a 3 to 4 depending on the time of day you go (lunch time is the best).
Yeah we had one in Connecticut in Milford. It was horrible. I went to Orlando and Florida to visit my sister. It was wonderful It was like night and day.
We used to hit a smorhasbord all u can eat place called " SmorgaBobs" when I was a kid. My Grandparents would only let us go on certain nights cuz they knew what nights the good chefs were on There was also a really great all u can eat smorgasbord that we would hit from time to time that would have 35 fresh made inhouse baked items from fresh rolls to zuchini bread, pumpkin loaf,fresh rye and pumpernickel. Man there are no more joints like this where I live
That is any place, each location is slightly different. Could be bad severs or a cook that just doesn’t care or staff shortage or just bad management or a bad trainer that consistently teaches the wrong thing. Restaurants with one star will more than likely have multiple of these issues. There is a place I go to and I only go on the evenings during certain days of the week because they only have one good cook. If he is not there the food is trash.

Some people act like they know how to cook but are impatient and will literally serve raw food when they don't want to put in the work. Let it chill man. I swear this is one of the biggest problems horrible chefs have, they don't put in the time.
