What a pleasure to watch this match. I had no idea that Nagy was so great. It is really something that his bowling lives on in these videos. Thanks.

Fazio rolled an 802 series on TV, according to Fred Wolf. The bowlers in that era were gentlemen, not the chest-pounding screamers of Many of today's pros.

I AGREE with you 1,000% because this was when bowling was bowling. Like the NFL, NBA, MLB & MLS the bowling is now CRAP too & isn't worth watching anymore either. LOVE YOUR COMMENT.

Love these uploads, Irish. Way back in the 50's, there was a small bowling alley in Clinton, IN, not far from where I live, that had Steve Nagy arrive and do some bowling there against some of our locals (as well as Ned Day, and I think Marion Ladewig, but I'm not sure about that one). Just a little 8-laner, but it's notoriety are the tunnels underneath the lanes that used to be used for bootlegging liquor and gambling during the prohibition days. The ball returns are still above ground and gravity fed. It's also rumored that Dillinger himself wound up there one day after escaping the Rockville prison, hiding out in the tunnels along with some of his "henchmen" who were still bootlegging the liquor from there. The place just recently went out of business, but I'm really hoping someone can buy it, as it's got a LOT of historical value to it. For now, it's still there, but just closed down. I started my bowling there as a junior, and the guy who ran it then looked like he came right out of the Italian mafia, so the rumors may actually be true. Thanks again...love these old bowling shows!

Two terms I heard in an oldie the other day that I still hear: Big 4 and double pinochle. Thought that was awesome!

    Single-game prizes of $50, $75 & $100, and a 3-game winner-prize of $1,000 . . . amazing.

Nagy remains my favorite bowler, even after all of these years. He could have been just as good if not better on today's conditions. The greatest of all time, in my opinion, was Ned Day ..... Carter, Weber, Anthony, and Williams notwithstanding.
