  • I was one of the first people to try Japan Airlines (JAL) brand new first class suite, named the new best first class in the world by experts like Onemileatatime. Fly with me and learn how I booked it for free using miles.

    Where did you get 30k USD from exactly?
    I searched and the most expensive I could find was 18k USD...
    Just curious

    If i would fly on first class i want a fully closed suite for my privacy. JAL looks great dont get me wrong but to get a 10 from me they need fully closed suites. But again i would love to try it out :)

    70k points! I thought my redemption of 44k MSP CDG HAN in business class was noteworthy, but damn! I have yet to fly first. What’s your advice in terms of which airline’s first class is easiest to achieve?

    • @clearedfortravel
      @clearedfortravel  2 месяца назад +2

      Ya 70k Alaska miles for this flight was an incredible redemption. Now eliminated as Alaska has devalued their program this month. ANA first is still pretty achievable using virgin Atlantic miles for about 70k miles. It’s not quite as amazing as JAL but still a great deal. You can find ANA award availability on United, then call virgin Atlantic to book with miles. Several banks transfer to VA like chase.

      @@marcusyoung5440 I flew the room back to US (video posted). It was great! Obviously not as fancy as this but it’s not fair to compare business vs. first.

      Well good thing is probably no one sat in that seat for a really long time. So no need to sanitize just wipe down. Wish they still should dust once in a while. Love your videos.

      It’s a subjective opinion but several top blogs like One Mile At a Time say this is tied with Emirates for 1. Singapore is great though

      They do serve it, it’s toward the end of the video. I don’t know why but it wasn’t served as part of the main meal, it was part of the on demand menu.

  • @shizzlemysizzle

    If it was fully enclosed, then I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. As with all airlines operating 777 or 350 no first class lavatory much bigger than what you have shown.

    How is curry “traditional” japanese?.. Japanese curry is a widely consumed food in Japan but idk why anyone would call it anything close to traditional. Anyway thanks for showing us the western dishes of a Japanese Airliner. Your palette is so diverse 🎉.. Might I suggest British Airways next time instead.. seems it would be more palatable for you.

    $30k is an obscene amount of money to spend on any flight. There really is no justification for it and you definitely didn’t get your money’s or points worth.

    • @clearedfortravel
      @clearedfortravel  2 месяца назад +3

      I agree about the cash price but it was definitely worth the points. 70k miles is what most people pay for a domestic rt economy flight these days so to use them for an international first class flight to Japan is quite a value.

      The richer you are, you knock off a zero at the end. So those who pay for those seats sees $30,000 as $300. That’s how it works

    • @clearedfortravel
      @clearedfortravel  2 месяца назад

      @@jamesmoninger1982 Sure. I prefer the window seat, it’s extremely private, you get first choice of meal & fastest service. And on JAL it opens up to another empty suite so it’s easy to use the next door suite for bedroom if unoccupied.
