Hi, our ultrasonic distance sensors have a more focused ultrasonic sound cone with much higher accuracy for a highly accurate distance measurement, in comparison to e.g. automotive park distance control sensors with a very wide, but more unprecise sound cone. This also comes with a higher sensor weight. Regarding these points we would in general not categorize this type of ultrasonic sensors as ideal for a quadcopter anti-collision application.
Am amazed with the technology of yours... but what will happen if there was a foam above the liquid level.. how will this technology give us the correct reading? can you explain if possible
Dear Aravindh S, Thank you for your request. The behaviour strongly depends on the type of foam above the liquid. Depending on the foam density and structure you could either measure on the top of the foam, or through the foam to the liquid level, or even get values which change in between. In order to analyze this for your application in detail, please contact your local SICK entity. Thank you very much. Best regards
Can you use this sensor for a fuel storage tank and do you provide an API or SDK for developers to dependently develop applications both desktop and mobile(iOS and Android). Thanks
Hi Ms. Akira E. Dionio, In general SICK Ultrasonic sensors are not influenced by wind. We have done testing with wind speeds of up to 160 km/h and did not see any significant impact on measurements. Where we are aware of an impact is with very defined layers of air with significantly different temperatures. In these situations the ultrasonic sensor may get a reflection on the boundary between layers.
I want to detect 2-5mm hole in MS pipe from 1feet distance.after detection buzzer on then few second make paint marking on the hole.please send which sensor and timer relay are perfect.
Thank you very much for your comment. To find the best possible solution for your individual needs, please contact our experts and send them an email: info@sick.de They will help you as soon as possible.
Hi can I use this for designing a collision avoidance system for quadcopters?
