IJN Zuihō - The Lucky Phoenix

In today's video, we'll be looking at one of the better known Japanese light carriers. Zuihō, a ship that survived most of the Pacific War. She would only be sunk at Leyte Gulf, like so many other Japanese ships.
Before that, however, this ship led something of a charmed life. Even when she was damaged, it was more cosmetic than actually threatening. For a ship that can be translated as some variation on 'lucky phoenix', that's fitting.
Until, of course, that luck ran out.
