- The DR18SUB is a high-performance 2400-watt subwoofer capable of extremely high sound pressure levels and precise reproduction of ultra-low frequencies.
Behringer DR18SUB = Thomann The Box Pro DSP18SUB
2400 Watt = Peak Power (ignore it)
800 Watt = RMS Power (pay attention to it), although it might be overstated (you may actually find a 650 watt speaker driver inside)
Declared frequency response (-3dB): 30-150 Hz (but, possibly, the response is not very linear)
Behringer DR18SUB claims to actually have a limiter and thermal protection, which is a good thing, that might throw off Thomann sales for DSP18SUB.
The dsp 18 sub has a limiter as well! And for the money you pay you get a lot!
@@lbenk-topic Yes, The Box Pro DSP18Sub has a built-in limiter, but no thermal protection. It is just a light you have to watch for, if you want to keep your speaker coil intact. On DSP18SUB you have to monitor very carefully the signal input level, because it doesn't offer to much headroom and the manufacturer is not able to provide any technical information about the the amplifier module.
@@valentingheorghe1693 Do you know if we can already purchase it? But anyway I don't think it's better than the DSP 18 sub because the Behringer one is even cheaper. I researched it but I think it's not available yet. Do you know the sound of the Dsp 18?
@@lbenk-topic On most dealers DR18SUB is available to preorder at this moment.
Anyway, it is possible that the main speaker driver to be different than the one installed inside the DSP18SUB.
Until I have the chance to test one hands on, I can not say for sure if it is better than DSP18SUB.
I already own four DSP18SUB units and I put them to good use, using a dedicated external crossover, which allows me to better control the signal parameters for every set of speakers.
