Scx24 Bronco Build Part 4 - Did I Ruin It?? Custom Parts and Upgrades!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 13 окт 2024
- In this video I try my hand at creating some custom parts and upgrades for the Axial Scx24 bronco. Using rubberized coating, I make a two-tone version of the RC4WD stamped steel beadlocks, as well as color match the spare wheel on the back. I also added some steel rock sliders to protect the body and add to the scale look.

We all might not like to admit when we mess up a bit, but its a big part of and happens a lot in this hobby. Ive lost count of the times ive purchased "upgrades" and made modifications that later ended up regretting. Good on you for still making this video and showing how its not always gonna go right.
Mistakes are the best teachers!
The flex is unbelievable and the rims you did look pretty sweet to me man. Everyone have a great day and a great crawl
Thanks! I was shocked when it got six tires during the flex test!
@@CapeCrawlers Oh yeah, my eyes lit up during the flex test lol.. You have a good one... And thanks for the response, really cool Of you..
Man you definitely deserve way more followers than you have you are one of the best RUclipsrs I watch I love your vids and rigs keep up the good work man
Thank you, that means a lot! We are growing fast! I have lots of great ideas, so we’ll keep it rolling!
@@CapeCrawlers good to here🤗
I painted some rc4wd wheels used a smal brush and several coats worked pretty good and wasn’t to hard to do as for the wideners I run them and plus 4 axial pretty much on all my rigs lots of flex lots of side hill and a lot of vertical if weighted right in the nose takes some getting use to 🔥🔥🔥😎👍
I feel like +4mm is the perfect stance for these things. Great blend of function and looks.
Hello from Chile! I recently bought one gladiator after your upgrades videos and im in the way making some little upgrades with your examples. For this bronco i think that you need to go back 1 or 2 steps just as you said, maybe the extra width can help you with stability but its almost out of "scale fidelity??". And it looks that you have so much weight in the rear, you maybe could try to make a fake spare tire of foam or anything lightweight and cover it with a custom made "leather" wheel cover?? You will get the look without the weight. The wheels... i think that the previous ones where a lot better, in look and performance.... btw your builds are awesome and inspires me to make my gladiator a really good crawler. I will be waiting for your updates! Keep the good work!!!
I appreciate the comment! Great suggestions and I completely agree 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!
I think it's pretty sweet! It's all about what you are going to do with it I suppose. Looks good though, and seems to perform quite well. Thanks for another cool video Adam!
Thanks! I need to sort out the fitment of the treal hexes. Injora makes a set of stamped steel wheels and those should fit better. Maybe I'll give those a shot next.
I bought the same wheels & shocks for a deadbolt bolt . It drives nice with brass knuckles & 4mm ext. So I'll save them for my next build .
Extra parts never go to waste with these things! There’s always another build 👍🏻
Been following your builds it looks good flexes great 👍🏻 let this one sink in I feel it’s another great build every one is different you know every build is different, cheers 🍻
Thanks! It’s starting to grow on me. My biggest concern is the treal hexes not working with the wheels. I’ve got to get they sorted out.
@@CapeCrawlers same I have the treal brass +5 hex extender some heavy slammers I must say, but the brass wheel nut and injora wheel combo only grabs 2 threads at most and I have to run some red lock right into the threads to keep the surpass outrunner torque from loosing them constantly
If you flip the rock slider mount, L shape down, the rock slider will sit against the body with awesome body protection.
You are absolutely right. I found out after this video I had ordered the wrong sliders also!
My personal opinion is the reds kinda clash, but maybe you get the wheels a little dirty and they won’t stand out as much. For the stance just a little wide for your indoor coarse, but I bet they rock outside 👍
I need those rock sliders. sliders and shocks next for mine I think.
I love the sliders. They work great and fit the chassis/body perfectly!
I haven't seen what comes next in this series cuz I'm going through them in order. But I don't think those rims were the way to go. And I think the sliders stick out too far. And that red paint you got sure looks different on the metal rims vs. the plastic. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
You lose all side hill stability when you don't have some kind of internal tire support. If you're not happy with stock foams get some ox foams, or the ultimate - slymeballz from flubber stufferz.
I think I need to break down and try the slymeballz . I’ve heard nothing but great things about them!
Love your videos I am building my own you are a big inspiration thank you.
Awesome! Thank you! Keep me posted on your progress
I think you have gone too wide on this one. I loved the old wheels. Gave it a more scale look. I think you should throw the foams back in the tires as well. I think the upgrades in this video have hindered your performance. Love your builds though man keep it up.
I think you're right on all accounts!
Hello from southeast alaska cool video bro it's been helping me out
Heck yeah the spare tire looks awesome
Thanks!
Very creative bro crazy flex💪🏽👍🏽👊🏾✌🏽🔥
Thank you! I’m all about that flex 💪🏻
I think your best upgrades that was necessary was Part 1 though 3 and the skid plates so in 4 you went to wide but enjoy the video as a newbie.
Try out Flubber stuffers slime balls they are awesome, I’m just thinking tires to squishy. I do like how you painted the rims maybe Not perfect match but looks awesome
Thank you! I’ve heard a lot about flubber stuffers lately. I think I may need to try them
Have you tried liquid masking tape? Works great where normal masking tape won't fit. Used Maskol before but no idea if it's available over there.
I have not, but that’s a great idea!
The flipping of the rims didn't add more flex. More distance between the tires allows more reach. If you were to measure the angle of the axle with the tires mounted both ways, you would find the angle is the same.
You’re right, I inaccurately associate reach with articulation when in fact they are not synonymous
What about trying nail polish on the rims. Could probably find a color that matches the body alot more and little easier to paint them
Great idea!
I’d narrow it jus a bit….but it performed good 👍
I’m leaning that way. The stance just doesn’t look right being so wide. But I’ll drive it for a couple of days and see if it’s worth keeping it this way.
Clean the other rims with windex that should make the anodized red colour pop again
I will give that a shot. I dig those rims. More so than the custom ones I did!
me personally i perfer the body to be scratched up so it looks more used
Your spare needs to be a deep dish to look the same as what you have on there
I thought about putting one of the Injora wheels on there but I’m concerned about the weight. The beadlocks are ~12g a piece and that makes a big difference out back there. I may just remove the spare all together. What do you think?
Bit to wide now... I think it looked better with previous wheels :)
Agreed!
@@CapeCrawlers haha clearly I'm not up to date :) I'm catching up on your build
Keep up the good work brother
Almost looks like you lost some control from the tires flexing to much
I did! It was like driving on water balloons!
Yes yes you did ruin it. Lol
Wayyyyy too wide
Agreed! I’ve since corrected it and it looks/performs much better.
I would love to show you how i did mine the body sit perfectly in the slot on the slider
I have same build going on with same sliders ive learned alot from you let me teach u something
Hey i just watched this video and wanted to let you kno you put your rock sliders together wrong
