Alan was always in exciting fights, he was undisputed MW Champion of the world and next to the HW title that’s as good as it gets!, British, European, World and Bronze Medalist what a career!, 🥊
He wouldnt have became champion had vito given hagler a rematch after the BS draw in 79! Because hagler would have mopped the floor with vito in a rematch....minter wouldnt have beat hagler on his best day....and that was proven when hagler annihilated him....i respect minter...but facts are facts!
@@dreman1970yes ok but that didn’t happen and the fact is Minter did become undisputed middleweight champion and will go down in history as being one. Fact 🥊 your welcome
@@dreman1970 very true.. Minter was very lucky to be around when the middleweight division title was held by a useless boxer in antuofermo, he was very tough and very brave but no boxing skill at all. a good few of vito's fights were definitely controlled by the mob fights.. and also bent refs. . But minter did get the mw title and that was as high as you can go, but Have to agree Hagler would beat minter every day of the week. Hagler was the very best from 1970 onward. i think hagler and nigel benn would of been a good tear up, and Hagler or Benn would of smashed calzaghi to bits. hagler must be in the top 3 middle weights of all time. he even looked the best just holding up the belt.
@@PhilipMaldonado-kx9cb Agree. Fight him in the USA and beat the hell out of him again. Minter probably accepts such a fight because the money would have been compelling for both fighters with closed circuit revenues from both sides of the pond.
Notice at 21:11 at the end of the round, Antuofermo reaches out and taps Minter. I have watched thousands of fights and studied body language. This is a submissive gesture, basically saying "I acknowledge that you are the King." The same when a boxer is hurt by a punch and smiles. Boxer's if you are reading this, do not do it.
True. It really is odd. I watched one of Vito`s other fights and I found myself thinking; " Does Vito actually ever try to punch his opponent" It was the strangest thing.
Just about punch perfect from Alan Minter. He boxed Antuofermo's ears off that night to retain the title. If he'd adopted the same strategy against Marvin Hagler just three months later, things might have been different.
Alan Minter trained in Jersey for this fight , I went to watch him as I was working the summer there in 1980,

R.I.P. Alan"BOOM BOOM" Minter!!!17-08-1951/09-09-2020
Prime time here in his backyard Minter just cleaned up on Vito Minter was a good proud champion 🏆
Great performance by Minter. R.I.P. mate
I'm italian and I give my respect to alan minter. RIP.
And Hagler now.
Respect but he wasn’t a great fighter.
Thank you for posting this.
RIP Champ.
From my town , met many times .. RIP champ
Hard to imagine Antuofermo got a draw and retained his title against Marvin Hagler less than a year before, given how the Hagler, Minter fight went.
Only Marvin hagler could beat the English warrior that was Alan minter RIP ALAN
Tony Sibson beat the stuffing out of him.
@@davidgormley7990 Thank you.
Alan one of the best...a great champion RIP
"Mintor is being permitted to cut the man to bits."
Give me a break. Vito was bleeding before the fight began.
Hagler should have given Minter a rematch.

RIP boom boom 👌✌
loved watching minter, R.I.P

Mickey Duff's hairpiece looking resplendent.
Mickey always sported a fine syrup.
RIP Alan Minter and Angelo Jacopucci.
0:23 - 0:35 'Overwhelmingly on points'...
Actually it was a split decision!!
And a controversial one at that.
It was overwhelming on the English judge's card lol
@@tintomara6209 Yes, that's very true.
Antuofermo should've called it a career after this fight. He was simply too prone to cuts.
앨런민터의 경기 는. 확실히 기억한다 특히 헤글러 와. 대결에서
WARRIORS.
If memory serves , Vito Antuofermo was never tko'd or knocked out due to concussion . any tko on his record was because of cuts
So?
ALAN MINTER - NEC PLURIBUS IMPAR- BLESS HIM- DEUS VULT- NEVER FORGOTTEN 🥊🥇🏆🥇🇨🇮💚🇨🇮💚🤝🇬🇧💚⚡💃⚡🥊⚡🥊✌🐕
"Antuofermo his face a bloodied 3d canvas of a mountain range" then the bell rang for the first round! (;
Antuofermo's style was so odd. He just charged in, grabbed Minter and held him. It didn't seem as if he was really trying to box or throw punches.
Vito had no offensive skill at all. Almost like he was fighting without arms.

Minter would shed his own bucket of blood when an angry Marvelous Marvin crossed the Atlantic to take what already should have been his.
Fight should've been stopped sooner😢
Funny the 2 guys who basically bleed just by looking at them fighting each other.
Bobbie diniros best buddie
thats what happens when you lead with your face

No chance.
Nobody was beating Hagler that night, sorry, he wasn't going to be denied.
@@tintomara6209 Hagler was on a totally different level from Minter.
