This drama was entertaining, enjoyed all the overdone headdress’s the women worn and the clothing was colorful and pretty to the eyes. However, Meili was abused by everyone including the emperor, grand empress, the prince, mother of the prince and the main wife and even the general. If this is the Asian way of treating people, then it’s a terrible way to live. I would rather die which she had chosen to do to save her son and the man she loved. Would have really like to see 1st wife and mother-in-law punished for what they did to Meili that drove her to suicide not just the father of the main wife.

Both are at fault. She's right, though. She tells him the truth. He shouldn't have married either woman. Meili should have married the general. She would have been loved, protected, and cherished. In this idiot forcing her yo marry him and not trusting/believing her, he set her up for abuse, punishment, bullying, and finally, her death. Their son is a true victim as well.
