I'm from the East Coast and have visited many cities in the USA. I chose Eugene as my home and have been here since 1972. I love the people, the pace, the amazing restaurants, the proximity to mountains, ocean, desert, and forests. There are only a few really cold days in winter, and only a few really hot days in the summer. The weather, to me, is perfect. I am outside at all times of the year. Got rain? Of course, we've got rain. That's what makes it so beautiful, lush, and green. And we have the Oregon Country Fair -- need I say more?
I've lived in Iceland my whole live but I've always wanted to move to Eugene and I still plan to, such a beautiful small and quiet city yet so much to do with beautiful landscape and wildlife
Wow! Looks good! I'm moving there on Summer Break, and I'm excited! I heard so many cool things about Eugene. A picture on Google showed it was a big city, and I don't know if that's true, but either way, it's ok.
Hi Nick. Thank you so much for this very informative and refreshing video. My wife and I are moving from London, UK to Oregon next year and Eugene has been a place we are looking at, as it's only an hour and a half away from Florence where my wife's parents live. They are quite elderly and her mom has just been diagnosed with breast cancer so it's time to make the long trip back to be near them. I am interested to learn about the job market in Eugene. Is unemployment low? I'm generally a customer service guy and my wife has years of experience working with children (Nanny). Thanks for any pointers
Wanted to attend University of Oregon but my parents wouldn't let me apply there. Watching RUclips vids to get the sense of the place and I definitely want to visit sometime
I'm originally from Los Angeles but have spent most my life in Georgia. As a 20 something black man desperate to get back to the west coast, Portland and or Eugene looks pretty tempting.
Thanks Chris, glad you liked the video. I believe the thunder you think you're hearing is wind. The rain, on the other hand, is 100% real. People with such certain accusations have always puzzled me. I appreciate the confidence, however misaligned, in my editing skills to have added thunder and rain but they are two elements that I think would add little value in creating a video that tried to show the best of Eugene. But with your very experienced 5 years of living there, you must know that it rains there often. Feel free to check the weather records, all filming was done on the 2 days before publication on Sep. 30, 2011.
We'll f**k you! Oregon is an AMAZING place, sure, we are not better than New York, but we are amazing and a great community. Also, chances are is that as you posted that comment and reading this one, you wearing SOME type of Nike gear that you love. Guess what? WE WERE THE FOUNDERS OF NIKE
Springfield is rapidly becoming the better of the two. Its more expensive to Live in Eugene and the quality of life is lower, thanks to the homeless population which the city actively encourages.
this video sucks he mainly hit the university food places. Saturday market is way over priced hippy crafts, the river that they are playing at is not in Eugene its 45 min away, If you dont go to the university its pretty boring town.

Kit Carson denver's Too cold, and i don't like the community feel as much as Eugene
I grew up in Eugene, I love this town! I was really bummed when I had to move away. Can't wait to vacation there next year. Thanks for the video.

Shane Arnold you shouldn't allow your parents to dictate where you're gonna apply remember it's your future

As funny as this may sound i never really heard of Eugene Oregon till i started listening to Mat Kearney, his new record talks allot about Eugene.

No mention of the 13 months rainy season? :D
We just had an awesome summer...... of all out sunny weather. Eugene has amazing summers!
up scale the wild duck? lol cool!
Nick. I'm in Eugene for 4 1/2 hours. What do you recommend for being foot-mobile for 4 1/2 hours.
Rent a car.
Thanks for the vid! This cleared up my opinion more of Eugene,
Also You should look into voice acting, you have a really unique voice.
Thanks Luna! Very kind words
Nick Hughes No prob 😎 👍
Not to be creepy, but you are so cute by the way.... 😲😘
I love EUGENE!!!
I've lived in Eugene for almost a year now and although it's mostly nice, there are more homeless people here than I've ever seen in my entire life.
That's because of all the necessities they get courtesy of the city leadership at the expense of the housed. Vote Lucy Vinis out of office
How friendly is the people
DUDE, DON'T TELL PEOPLE ABOUT US ! ! !
We are Gods' Best Kept Secret, Eugene, Oregon ! ! !

SpecialK and Ronnie banks live in Eugene Oregon

That rain and thunder are fake. I only heard thunder a few times while in Eugene over the course of five years. Great video, though!

Eugene Oregon is full of weird people. guys at South Eugene High wear fishnets on a daily basis
Mackenzie With an A seems pretty normal 😂
wat.
the video is well-made, but this is a pretty narrow perspective of Eugene. no mention of counterculture, environmentalism, community-building
...and for that we are thankful.
