I seriously wonder if any average Indian would ever take so much effort and interest to learn any foreign classical art like Mayo san. Hats off to you Mayo san. Full power to you. I always believed that any classical arts longevity across centuries is due to the fact that it can touch ones soul. As Mayo san already said that she gets immense satisfaction by performing Odissi classical dance. I had heard the same response from few of my friends who practice the art of classical dance regularly. Its like meditation or penance.

My mom too was an Odissi dancer in high school and she got so good at that art that she was invited in various districts to perform and recieved numerous awards and eventually her high school teachers requested my mom's family to let her pursue dance and acting as a career but both her elder brothers ( my uncles) didn't allow and to this day she regrets letting down her talent. I'll show this video to her.
