KFPLAN KF606 Cheap Gyro Stabilized RC Airplane Flight Test Review

- Don't be fooled by the low cost. This little airplane flies very well. Great affordable first airplane for beginner RC pilots. Find it here bit.ly/KF606-Plane
Pros
- Very inexpensive. Should be affordable for most.
- Two channel plane that's very easy to fly. Throttle for climb/descend, and yaw control for right/left movement.
- Includes gyro stabilization to prevent rollovers. Although a differential thrust flier, the yaw steering was nicely proportional. The gyro stabilization helped greatly here. No need for "bumping" the yaw control as with many other 2 channel diff thrust fliers w/o stabilization.
- Only 10 grams, and also constructed of tough EPP foam. Should be resistant to most (but not all) crashes.
- 3.7V 80mah battery provides close to 8 minutes of flight time.
- Transmitter provides about 100 meters flight range.
Cons
- As it is very lightweight, this plane is best flown indoors, or outdoors on low wind days.
- Unusual size 3.8mm diameter brushed motors. Not sure where you would purchase replacement motors? But hopefully most pilots will be ready to move on to bigger/better planes before they wear out.
- Although gyro stabilized, it seemed tail heavy out of the box. A little putty on the nose easily corrected that (although it might have needed a little bit more).

I have bought one off of Amazon with three batteries. Just waiting for it to come. But i must say im not a beginner but still enjoy able as an experienced pilot.😁👍🇬🇧
This is a neat little flyer. Probably even work great inside with a little room.
It would be great to fly inside a big building like gym in a school
Hallo Quadcopter 101, I was one of your viewers who started flying a 2 channel glider because of you. Still having great fun with the Fly Bear 805. Thanks, Andre de Boer, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Andre De Boer de flybear is heel leUk, ik heb zelf ook een 2 kanaal HuaLe fx803 is heel leuk!
Everyone loves cheap RC stuff. Most of the time the cheap ones are more fun than expensive ones.
I know right? I have a $30 rc that I use way more than my $700 rc's
This is very similar to the old Air Hogs airplanes that got very popular a few years ago. They had a tendency to nose up as well. This one seems to fly much better. Gentle control of throttle helps. In regards to the motor size, on the old ones I've heard them referred to as Pager motors, used to be used to make a pager vibrate.
Yup, I loved the Air Hogs bi-plane back in the day!
Not able to get out anywhere to fly at the moment in the UK so thinking of trying the little KF 606 in the garden/ yard when the wind does down. Hope you are keeping safe and well over there Quadcopter 101. 😷
Looks to be a fun little plane for only a few bucks. Ordered 1 for a mate to compare with our FX808 biplanes. I like the ability to change out batteries without the need for any surgery as with the 808. The price is more than competitive as the 808 has gone up a lot lately.
Yes I have been waiting for this video!
For anyone interested in fpv'ing this plane, first you need to upgrade the motor to 615 motors and change the battery to 3.7v 150 mah lipo. Ive made this upgrade to my kf606 and it flies suprisingly stable if there is no wind. Plenty of power left to carry aio fpv without breaking a sweat. I got bout 15min flight time with those batts. Rarely used full throttle.
Did you upgrade propellers ?
It reminds me of a Air Hogs biplane I had years ago that I had hours of fun with. I just might have to buy one of these. Great review! 👍
Hello there,
Was that the little yellow any white one by any chance?...if it was I had one too and i spent many a happy wet winter evening buzzing and crashing around my small Irish terraced house. ;p
My Air Hogs F-14 has to be flown at half throttle for level flight. No stabilizing electronics needed.
These differential thrust craft has too much up-elevator by design, so that speed has a large effect on pitch. Adding weight up front requires more speed for the stabilizer to counter it, but may kill climbing ability.
Great value little plane. A useful, realistic demo.
your a madlad. flying indoor planes outdoor
After those tiny motors burn out , is there room for a bigger battery and a set of bigger motors ?
I like that little size.
I'm sure their is . You can put a bigger coreless in anything as long as you can balance it
I might get it and then attach a small brushless motor to it.
Since you liked the KF606, have you tried the Volantex Micro Trainstar? Not the mini, but the micro. I’ve seen it on Banggood and eBay in the $20-$28 price range. I enjoy your videos! Keep them coming!
Excellent video! Ty! Had seen some not as informative review. Glad I found this one.
Can't even afford this! Ahahaha bad luck where i live 20$ is like 3k+ and there is no one shipping it here this plane costs as much as 2 months of my school fee not easy for me to get but absolutely love your videos been binge watching them! for now i have to do with google earth simulator.
You live in Zimbabwe or something lol?
You could sell dirt in bags, step it up
The moment when a little Rc Flyer is better than all of the Air Hogs’ aircraft (Except for the V-22 that thing was epic)
If anyone wants to buy this i just want to inform you that there is identical plane under eachine GA202 name and at the time i am writing this you can get it with 3 batteries for the same price as this one.
It looks identical just the color is different. Even the remote is identical it just has eachine printed on it.
That's really good for the price. It will never replace my flybear in my affections but I do like it :)
Beats the heck out of a Cox 2 stroke they made a lot of young kids never fly again
But I started on them. I still got a box full of my old 049 Cox engines (the original QC101 keepers ;-)
Balsa wood, Elmer’s glue, tissue paper, dope, glow plugs and nitro fuel!! Those were the fun days of life!!!
@@andinbriwel1092 My first RC airplane was the "Real Thing" balsa wood kit from the 70's. i.ebayimg.com/images/g/p0cAAOSwhE9beETx/s-l1600.jpg Spent a month building it. First flight it climbed to a hundred feet and then nosed in at full power, splintering into a hundred pieces. Total flight time 15 seconds for that month of building. So yeah, I see your point of kids getting discouraged.
I don’t think you showed it in high speed mode
Looks great for lunch breaks
would be interested in seeing that stabilized flight mode.
讲得很好,给机头增加重量我都没想过
Does the instruction manual weigh more than the airplane?
As ya know on never impressed with these ultra cheap $30-40 airplanes or helis/quads.
But for the price of lunch, $20. Can't really go wrong.
what about the high speed low speed button? really works? mine dont looks to work...
você pilota muito bem !!! Parabéns
Great video, do you think this can be gutted and use it's internals on an old Air Hog Aero Ace plane?
I loved those Air Hog Aero Ace bi-planes! That's what I first started on years ago.
Can you use a multiprotocol JP4in1 transmitter to fly this?
Cool little plane,gave a sub.
Motor and remote are same as my micro jet plane. If i am bored play jet, i will use the motor for rc plane like yours.
I like it. More fun that tieing a $20 bill to a helium balloon.
I got this plane I recommend this for anyone who is a beginner or pro
Does this plane have zero throttle turning? Or does it need a low throttle before the turning functions?
Thank you 🙏🏼
Do you think this would be a good trainer? I have a sky surfer but no flying field nearby. Looking for something I can fly in the backyard or indoors
Yes it would. Remember to add a little weight to the nose if it goes up and down like a roller coaster. Just stick a little putty on the nose until it flies smooth.
Nice video
That would be great fun after you’ve worn out the batteries on your other planes and drones. Or just as a present for a young fellow or girl that has seen you flying and wants to try. Won’t teach them much about controlling real rc planes, but could keep their interest up to want to try.
Great vid Thanks
Good Job!
Congratulations. You were the first to comment. You win a shoutout in a future QC101 video. Again, congratulations!
You do an excellent job introducing beginners to the hobby, keep it up.............but this, crikey Banggood please..I think a piece of A4 paper and some chuck glider instructions would keep any youngster happier than this.
richard halliday when it breaks the components will be fun to attach to hand made foam pieces to your own plane :D
can fly with t8sg too??
can i upgrade his
You think I can put a tx01 fpv in there?
Nope. way to small to lift anything besides itself.
Can it take off from ground?
No, as it does not come with wheels.
Looking to buy this is 2022 it’s 40 bucks now 🤦🏻♂️
You can find it cheap if you look around www.dhgate.com/product/kf606-epp-foam-glider-rc-airplane-flying/736860199.html
Just Google search "KF606". Make sure to check vendor's reviews, shipping cost, and expected delivery date before purchasing.
Great vid also whenever I fly my 606 the remote keeps beeping do you why
Low battery warning. Try a fresh set of batteries in the controller.
Thank you
Sorry but also one more question mine just goes up then is still on but goes down
@@tiahan603 up and down like a roller coaster?
Yes
Yes I have been waiting for this video! and also SFS Central copied my comment
plz do more plane stuff
How could I copy your comment if I posted it first?
It's $26.00 not under $20
Yeah, this video is from 3 years ago. But you can still get it for around $20 on AliExpress with free shipping s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dm5NhMF
But it's coming from China, so that free shipping can take up to a month.
@@Quadcopter101 thanks for the reply. I know all to well about that China wait lol
$24 at bg.
I have a plane much smaller than this the qsky by Takara tomy
Hi I’m matthew
How do you Gyro stabilized a two channel airplane?
Here's how. The gyros and accelerometers continuously sense the attitude of the plane, and adjust the speeds of the motors to level the plane and keep it from exceeding preset bank and pitch angles. For example, if the plane tilts too far left, the gyros speed up the left motor and slow the right motor to level the plane. If the plane tilts too far right, the right motor speeds up and the left motor slows to level the plane to the left. If the nose of the plane tilts too far up, then both motors slow down to lower the nose. If the nose tilts too far down, both motors speed up to raise the nose.
미니.
You forgot to check the high and low rates during flight!?!? Sigh
Vintage Stephan he didn’t forget shit it’s his video he shared what he did. Don’t be self entitled
