HARVESTING ABACA - Hardest Job In The Philippines? (Typhoon Destroys Farms In Bicol)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 окт 2024
- Three typhoons hit the island of Catanduanes in Bicol. With that, almost all of the abaca on the southern parts of this Province were destroyed. This is a big industry for locals that call this island home, and unfortunately it will now take some time to recover. After spending time rebuilding with the community in Puraran, I thought it would be a nice idea to raise a little awareness about Abaca, and have a good time with some of the locals who do this work for livelihood.
This is definitely one of the hardest jobs in the Philippines when it comes to physical demand! Just look at Allan and his "ripped body". Seriously, this kind of work gets you really strong!!

Actually if you’re in the province the chances you fit is hella big cause you know primitive work
It’s because a lot of the “civilized” world is fatter

@@keno77777 That's a part of it yes, but unless you want to starve yourself, which I don't recommend, eat healthy yes but just cut your normal food intake by 20% and exercise for about 40 min a day something that gets your heart rate up and your lungs breathing more, like cross machine, biking, swimming or fast pace walking, does not have to be running or any other high intensity exercise.
@@Johansen1000 I disagree. I did construction and worked with a lot of fat guys. Most guys on my crew were about 6'0 and *well* over 250lbs.
If you eat eggs w/sausage and gravy for breakfast, have a bacon cheeseburger combo for lunch, then go home and eat a couple plates of your wife's dinner over a 6 pack everyday, that manual labor doesn't mean much. there is no reason to feel bitter. Shit will always happen. What you do with it matters more.
Remember the people saying, fail a thousand times etc. and try again?
In my experience, I've had my turns of bad happenings. I know some I can fix, I know some will still be there the next day and the day after.
I therefore I have a choice. Play the victim card or not. I learned victim card doesn't do me justice. So I stopped playing that card. Regardless of my situation. Yeah temporarily I get the shits and sulk because it's normal, but I try not to stay there for too long.
It feels better to stay positive and feel better and still in a shit hole. Than be negative and be bitter and still in a shithole!
This is why I like Kulas and his ultimate message -- positivity.

Eat only 2 healthy and feeling meals a day. And do 14 hours intermittent fasting. In the 8 hours you can eat the 2 feeling but healthy meals.
Stop drinking alcohol if you do so already.
Don't eat red meat, cool it well first. (And in general don't too much meat. Once a weak is enough). Eat fish instead, or other seafood. And some days only fruits, vegetables, and Bulgar instead of rice or pasta (on these days you can add to your food nuts, eat almond and walnuts(walnuts are also great for the brain)).
Exercise at the gym or at home (with dumbbells) at least 3 to 4 days a week. Even two days a week will give you results with the Intermittent fasting and working out.
It doesn't have to be extremely intense workouts. Do the workouts while fast. And for énergie put a half of tea spoon of matcha in hot water and a bit of almond milk (sweeten it up with a bit of stevia or Sucralose if you want to or just drink quickly as it is).
I am sometimes lazy to workout and only workout 2 days a week sometimes but I still get abs if I do the intermittent fasting properly.

@@jajajajalaclaclac373 well the thing about being ripped is that you need to have a very low body fat percentage. these guys look muscular because they basically have no fat covering their muscles, but their muscles are not big by any means. as you carry a relatively low mass, you also expend less energy.
the ripped guy probably weighs around 55kg and his body is well adapted to this type of work. he probably only has to eat around 2000-2200 calories a day to maintain his size, and that is a very low amount of calories for a normal 80kg guy who has a 15% bodyfat. i personally need to eat around 4200 calories a day to not lose weight due to my size and frequent heavy strength training.
@@miskee11 nobody needs to eat more than 3500 calories to maintain any type of mass and that being generous. you're filipina though...
Philippines is very beautiful country, beautiful people inside out. Thanks Sir Kulas. Keep safe and God bless.
Godbless everyone specially the filipino's Merry Christmas and Advance Happy New year
The ripped guy apparently so nice and cute when he was smiling. I was amazed that he can speak English to make the white guy grasp how to work... Such a nice guy
There is nothing special about English. It's a language like any other. I speak 3 languages and understand 2 more. It's just language.
@@mlungisi1702 You are a very understated person
I had no idea of the damage done there. I am honestly shocked and saddened to see such damage. But I love the smiles of all the Philippinos who clearly work SO hard to eke out a living.
Seeing you embrace and hurdles the harshest lifestyle in the community defines you Becoming Filipino by heart. That was outstanding driven life with a purpose ( to borrow from rick warren)
I love the view,it looks like this village is paradise
Bangon Catanduanes
ppl here saying the bigger guy just started. he looks much older, and id assume a place like this you don't switch jobs often, so most likely he has also been doing it since he was young
The fat guy eats more :)
Look at that mr. Universe body.
Resilience is apart of our spirit now. So don't be sad kulas. We're used to it tawa tawa lang!! Walang iyakan!!

So, basically you're stripping banana trunks down into a thin, flax like fiber.
@John Loftus it's not a banana tree,it doesn't even produce any fruit,it's almost like a banana tree because of its looks.Btw I'm a filipino,so I know all about our country
@@trtinblitz6103 What is the abaca used for?
@@ejnicks5644 What I remember is the fact, it was made for accessories like hat or a bag.
@@yourflyisopen thank you 😊
Abaca is the material use for money, thats why its expensive
It’s just in our genes. We don’t have to do much to be ripped. I was adopted when I was 2 days old by an air force family. Lived in the states my whole life. People always ask what work out routine I had. I always smiled and said I’m Pinoy, it’s a gift from god. Lol
Wow I remember the time my parents get abaca so that we can make a piece of cloth -- hinahabi talaga. This resource is so important to Bicolanos. They export the bags and baskets and many more items made from abaca. We appreciate that you featured us "bicolanos" and abaca. More power to you.
Hey Kulas, when covid is over, this is the kind of thing that tourists might want to come and try.
Real talk, Iba yung lakas ng batak sa trabaho kesa sa sa gym lang.
