Thanks for keeping disco pants alive and rockin'! I think as long as you have an interest in these pants and you want to wear them, you should do so. At some point we have to ditch the never-ending cycle of constantly evolving trends and stick with what we like and has meaning to us. I personally say 'disco pants forever!'
@@martythemusicmonster6772 I 100% will not, I find it gross when a dude wears sexy womens clothing. I got no problem with transgenders but unconvincing cross dressers and drag queens are gross to me.
HELP would you suggest buying a resold pair of the aa ones made in the us or ordering from the laa website and getting a brand new pair? I have wanted a pair since like 2013 when I first heard of them, but never made the buy and now with the decline of aa quality + the stores closing I am unsure of my true size and which quality would be best for my money
At this point I’d personally recommend getting a pair from Los Angeles Apparel. The quality is as good as American Apparel used to be before they were sold. Normally I recommend getting a secondhand pair but if you’re trying to get a pair from American apparel prior to the sale (made in US) then at this point the elastic might be old because that was 6 years ago and that’s the primary problem I’ve had with these. Overtime the elastic breaks down. So if they’re old the elastic might be starting to get brittle if they’ve been sitting in storage somewhere never worn and they might wear out super quick. That is, if you’re absolutely sure you’re going to wear them and love them a ton. If you’re not quite sure, then I would actually recommend getting a used pair for cheaper just to try them out and figure out sizing.
@@LexiLadonna thank you! that is super helpful, I think i'll go with the Los Angeles Apparel pair. I found a NWT pair on poshmark of the size I think I would be of the American Apparel pair, but with your insight on the elastic I'm worried the fabric may come apart quicker if the size is a little snug. I think I'll wear them a lot though and the price difference is not a lot so I might as well get a new pair
If you do get the Los Angeles apparel Disco pants, PLEASE do a review. I am very curious if they fixed the major issues of them. I got a black and a deep blue pair from the "new" American Apparel, and the problems are worse sadly. I learned from my Girl friend about how she could see my lack of undies when I when she was behind me on a sunny day. Needless to say those were binned quickly. I took a good look at how they failed and it seemed after maybe the tenth wearing the center seam was again the point of initial failure. I have leggings, and a catsuit that are nearing 20 years of age, and they are not transparent and have been worn a lot more than 10 times. So yea, if you get the LA version it will be awesome to get a review. Additionally you look great in yours, but also thank for pointing out how in their heyday they were unisex. I really dislike how they have sort of become only for women only, and I defy that.
That’s actually a really good idea! And yeah they all fail in the same spot :/ I’ve gone through so many pairs. I’ve got to start trying to figure out what I can do with the leftover fabric
I miss my disco pants, they seemed to come into fashion and out again with in a month and now they are hard to find anywhere selling them, i liked the disco booty shorts that came out too.
Just found this. I'm a straight guy, and I love seeing women, and guys with the guts to wear these out and about. I personally own and wear several pairs the oldest being a pair of original AA graphite ones. Biggest issue with these is indeed the stitching. My other AAs had to be retired due to how the stitching lead to the rear end become sheer...YIKES. Yea, when new they look great, but as they age one needs to do squat checks before every outing for sure. :P
I absolutely love the look of these, although I don’t think they’d work for me. I ditched PVC trousers after they wrinkled and looked a bit ‘sausage like’. Do these wrinkle on the legs ever?
I know what you mean about the wrinkle/sausage look in tight pants. These are pretty good about that, I can't say I've had problems with it! The fabric wrinkles more like a regular fabric on the legs instead of the way I've seen other tight pants do

Rock on! Long Live Disco pants! ;)
Yes... for women they're great...only women.

You look stunning in Disco Pants. You pull the look off well. Totally dig your authentic, down-to-earth personality also. Nice job.
Wow! They look amazing on you! I especially love the purple. Keep rocking your unique awesome style 🤘
Thank you for this video! I just bought the red ones for a Las Vegas trip and want that 70's vibe. This video really helped :)

Thank you!
This actually explains Sandy’s outfit in Grease. I always wondered 😅
I still wear them love them
You look so much like a young Fran Drescher in the thumbnail! So adorable!
Disco pants are really great. As a boy I wear them too.
That's awesome!!
I love disco pants although I don’t wear them often I do have a few of the black stripe ones. New AA just aren’t as thick as the old US made ones

Are disco pants more comfortable to wear than spandex tights?
Omg I miss Disco pants I need a pair
Los Angeles Apparel and American Apparel still make them!
My local apparel closed down four years ago unfortunately , but recently found my gold pair
I miss my disco pants, they seemed to come into fashion and out again with in a month and now they are hard to find anywhere selling them, i liked the disco booty shorts that came out too.
My good friend had those and there was one summer i think she wore the shorts and i wore the pants almost every day! the summer of disco...
@@LexiLadonna both styles need to come back the demand is there for shiny legwear
