Having grown up in the era when the original was overplayed (happens to a lot of good songs), I hadn’t listened to Hello for a long time, but I loved this when I first heard Dimash’s version. The melisma and adapting the language was just perfect. Just as a note, he only came in second because of the rules that did not allow a non-Chinese to win. Those rules were changed the following year and allowed British singer Jessie J to win.
