When he said more pop off the face (faster) it completely sold me. That is a game changer for Scotty fans because that’s the only thing previous putters lacked.
Been rolling with the Pistolero Plus for years now… bet those SQB2 numbers are more to do with the grip than putter head. Threw one one my Super Newport… and of the six Newports I’ve ever owned, this one is by far the most pure, best feeling and most consistent. Tempted to buy a few of these Supers cause they really are Scotty’s best work IMO
Just picked mine up today. I wish it didn’t have the line on it bc I don’t care for them on the ball or putter when putting but love the feel! Can’t wait to get after it tomorrow!
I LOVE my SC putter esp as a birthday gift from the wife! It's a putter that has for sure has improved my putting. Not sure if it's because I am putting more or have a $400 putter in my hands so it makes me feel more special lol. It's a putter that I will keep for life.
I think its ironic that Evnroll putters are wider than the Scoty's, so Scotty comes out with the putter plus models. They all steal from each other. FYI, Evnroll putters are the best!!!! I used Scotty for years until I made the move to Evnroll. Check them out of you can. Back to the video......
@@Sebastian-dp1kc nice one - I just got the regular Newport too, yesterday. I think the Tiger connection makes the Newport 2 the more popular, although the custom model he and other tour pros use really don't look a lot like what's available to us mere mortals. I must say the regular one is lovely, and also I got a killer deal compared to the 2023 models that have just come out, at least €40 less than the best deal I could find on a Newport 2 :)
@@CradleRawk Nice! Yeah good point. At the store they told me the performance and forgiveness between the putters was basically identical so I went with the one who looked the best. I'll have to buy Tiger's newport 2 at an auction next ;)
I usually miss flat putts to the left edge of the cup. Does that mean the Newport 2 may be the best fit for me based on the 1.9 push/pull and 1.1 face angle degrees on the chart?
@@andruestes I felt most comfortable with the Newport 2. So what I did was replace the pistolini grip with the pistolero grip. The pistolini grip was very small, and left gaps when in my left hand (standard putting grip). The pistolero grip felt so much better in my hands, and that seemed to fix my issue! 👍⛳
Tiger uses a Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2, which is a custom design that isn't available at retail. While the retail Newport 2 is a very similar shape, there are still differences.
Mine did not. I don’t think they want you messing with it and taking business away from their custom shop. Cheap and easily solved with Amazon but just keep the stock weights somewhere safe if you decide to sell or trade down the line.
The turf and cup are merely there to act as a surface with a physical target for the player to aim at and test with a consistent speed. Before each fitting, the launch monitor is calibrated and zeroed out to the center of the target cup. The player can physically “miss” the putt on the putting surface but make the putt on the virtual green that has been calibrated to 0.0 from the starting position.
Oops, looks like a bunch of successful people here...The only reason that I am here is doing some research since I am going to buy a gift for my buddy LOL

Just ordered my squareback2, can’t wait to game it

I agree! I removed the paint from my sight line on my Flowback 5. I think it looks better this way. I wish SC gave us a option for our sights.
Ball definitely comes off hot on the Super Select Newport 2. Lots of bounce and can be a big adjustment to people using other putters.
Good content. I like the up close looks and explanations of the difference of each model
Thanks for watching Wade!

Great video, I’m a new golfer and this explained a lot.
Squareback 2 is a fantastic wide blade. My favorite in the lineup.
I’ve been playing a golo since their release years ago. This year lineup may just be the one to bring me into the 2024 models.
Did you get to review the super select Newport +? That is a new one that I want to check out.
So nice with NO cherry dots.
great video - nicely done and very informative. thanks
Scotty needs to add a putter with smooth face. No milled face.
Well, he does with the circle T’s. But those are all 10k
Just putt a couple thousand balls a day for 2-3 decades and you'll have a smooth face.

What he says at 12:25 sums it up perfect
"that squareback was perfect for me". Misses every putt 😂
Good luck putting on stimpmeter 13+ greens. :P
I have the ping anser milled pld right now do you think there is a big diffrence between them?
No. It’s a piece of metal that has been milled. Nothing other than the name makes it truly different.
Why does the regular Newport never get any attention, compared to the Newport 2? Is it that lame?
I bought the regular Newport. I love it so far, its way prettier to look at if you ask me

I believe they would actually recommend the 2.5 Plus version based on his right-bias comments around the 5:30 mark. Hopefully they chime in, though!

Is the normal Newport like the 009M and the Newport 2 is like the one Tiger is using?

How do I get one of those True Spec Golf hats?
WORDS !!! you can putt any putters if you're good.
Do they come with a tool for the weight when you buy it new ?

The guy putting looks like Haaland
Which one of these has less toe hang?
The squareback has the least toe hang in the putters tested in the video.
