Seriously one of the best videos I have seen in a very long time, Jenn. It is so very important to have the older generation not only on film, but capturing these recipes. This is our HISTORY. In years to come, you are going to be happy you have this. I say you need to do more with your mother in law. And thank you to Josefina for taking the time to share this recipe with us :)
***** Thanks Beth....she was great!! I know that we will cherish the video in years to come. What's amazing about your channel is that you have so much of your family captured already...and so many meals that have been approved by them (and not!! LOL)!!
***** So well said and ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! I now know what I must do very soon with my Mom!!...Also I just checked out your channel and I had to Subscribe to yours as well!!
My grandmother is Italian and a few years ago she taught me how to make many of her recipes. She fussed at me a lot and told me I was doing it wrong all the time! Haha! I think it's just the Italian grandmother way! Loved this and I loved how sweet you are with your mother in law!
I love watching old people cook. They have a special charm and patience. And her accent. I cant. So cute. Thank you for sharing this really special family recipe!
Jen, ignore the negative comments. I can tell your MIL's first language isn't English and that she has no clue about the internet, let alone a computer. It is much easier for someone my age to use a computer, I'm 21 btw. you both did a fantastic job on this. You guys should do more recipes together, your MIL deserves credit too for sharing a recipe of hers! This looks yummy! Do you have any Italian heritage?
flwrgrl13 Thanks for watching and for your kind words! No, I don't have any Italian heritage, but if Paul and I have children they obviously will as both of his parents were from Italy and immigrated to Canada just before he was born. It's a special culture.
Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio You should definitely have kids one day! You would make such a great mom and on the plus side you could teach them how to make your recipes. I love the video, and I love how you cared for your MIL so much! You are so sweet to people! I love your show so much and you are so fantastic! Love it!
Awwww I absolutely love this!!! My grandma was Irish and we used to bake a lot. When I was younger I would get a little impatient with her because I didn't know the language. Then I asked her to teach me and I learned. She passed away several years ago but I still have memories of her. I think its those little moments that really count. Its about what they shared with you and what you can pass on to others, whether it be your own kids or in your case Jen, the world. I watch your channel all the time and I must say that this is one of my favorites. Regardless of what others say I think you shared a very personal and special moment with your mother in law. You both did great and don't let others bring you down. :)
No she spoke english as well but it was hard to understand because she had a heavy accent. When she met my grandpa she was living in Dublin. Im not sure where she grew up though. My grandpa was scottish so his Gaelic was different from hers but somehow they seemed to merge the 2 together and was able to speak fluently together. I guess after being married for 30+ years will do that. Lol. My sister and I are not fluent by any means. It wasnt practiced as much in our house. I wish it was though. It took me forever to learn it and then when my grandparents passed away we stopped speaking it. I can still remember some of what they taught us and I am working to refine my skills that way I can pass it on to my kids and my neices.
It is a hard language to keep up especially if you are not speaking or hearing it all the time! I used to be very fluent but then when I left school I didn't get to speak it as much. Nowadays I listen to the Irish speaking news channels here to keep my ear in..lol
Lol I know what you mean. I have a few fav. RUclips channels that I listen to. Even though the dialects or accents may differ. Julie Fowlis is my absolute favorite scottish singer and TG Lurgan has quite a few popular (english) songs that theyve done in gaeilge. I am learning to read and write the language which is a whole different story right there...:)
Well done Giuseppina! I think she did a wonderful job. My Nana is British, so speaks English fluently and always has. To start with I genuinely don't think my Nana would ever agree to be in an online video because she just doesn't understand how the internet works, much less agree to share one of her family recipes with what could potentially be the whole world. Giuseppina did a fantastic job and she came across as the epitome of what I imagine a fiery Italian lady to be like! Your husband should be proud of her Jenn, and so should you. More importantly she should be proud of herself! Let's get all grandmas on RUclips!
Your mother in law is so sweet and knows great recipes! You are also the best being patient with her and helping her pronounce words because we all know how perfect you are with your baking! Please do more collars like this! Maybe one with your husband that would be funny! Thanks for another great video!!!
Aww, your mother in law reminds me of my nonna, so cute! These came out so nice, like little peach bums. Thank you, and thank you to your MIL for sharing! Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo!
Oh God i read all of these comments about this video being painful! My nonna from Italy reminds me on her, always trying so hard to speak in English which for an elderly person is really difficult, and we all enjoyed it and had lots of laughs for the way she spoke. She used to laugh along with us but altogether we appriciated her efforts! And I think both Giuseppina and Jen were ABSOLUTELY FABOLOUS!
Lovely video! To all those who are thinking about leaving rude comments about her mother in-law, I pray you think how you would feel if strangers on the internet spoke ill of your own mother. You both did a wonderful job... They came out looking so beautiful!
Italian grandmothers are so precise and severe when it comes to their recipes, I know it very well! ;) Pesche dolci, or simply pesche like I call them, were my favourite "pastarella" when I was a little girl! The only difference is that my grandma used to soak them in Alchermes, a pink liquor!
I love this video. I cherish my cooking with my grandmother. When we cook together it is almost always her recipes. I listen and watch and help. I pay very close attention. I learn so much from her. I don't consider it a pain when she is telling or showing me the correct way to make her recipes. They are what she learned from her mother and grandmother. For generations this is the way it has been taught. It is a very special privilege and a great honour to learn from her. I appreciate you sharing your family and family secret recipe with all of us. Thank you.
Thank you and Giuseppina so very much for a time honored recipe. I take great pride in Trying to keep all the special recipes handed down from the generations and now to teach my daughters. Pesche Dolci is still on my list to conquer:( The last time I tried my recipe it came out like lumpy pancakes ugh. So now I have Giuseppina's recipe!! Thanks again to the two of you for sharing a piece of family heritage.
Dear cookies cupcakes and cardio I am sorry people are posting such negative comments a lot of people speak other languages and because they do doesn't mean that other people can put then down for that in fact since she speaks another language makes her extra smart I love your videos and thank you for your positive attitude it is seeming to rub off on me happy holidays and have a happy new year
Heather Whitley Thanks so much for your kind message! I really appreciate it. Some of the reactions and comments were surprising regarding my MIL, but I don't let them bother me. I have way more fans like you than the negative ones. Thanks again!
God, how awkward it is to see you just gradually irritated by the sweet Italian mama! If you wana be the queen of the tutorial video don't bring anyone in it. I just feel so bad for the mama lady who's nervous but willing to share her amazing recipe.
A magical presentation with your dear mother in law. My mom in law is Swiss and she speaks only a few words of English. Like you I have always appreciated the culture, traditions and food of my husband's homeland and dearly love his parents. It is amazing how well we communicate without sharing the same language. Great job and a wonderful, unique cookie recipe too! Robyn S., Stillwater, MN
Adorable! Thank you. My mom used to make these for me when I was little. Now my daughter and I are going to make them for her on her birthday. She’s going to love the surprise. Thank you so much for posting
Ok..your mother in law is totally adorable! i want more videos of you two baking together..it's so great to learn old recipes from other cultures. I absolutely love those peach cookies..we get them from a great italian bakery here in Windsor Ontario. :)
I saw it! I have one of my own and his name is Herbie. He is so cute and hides in the weirdest places. He actually filled up my pottery bowl from Bowls 4 Hunger put dog food in it and left a note saying "Yuck! Don't give these to Santa!" It was so cute!
I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this recipe. One of my aunt's sister-in-law makes these, so I've only been able to get my hands on them once every two years or so. They are amazzzzining. I loved your mother-in-law too. . .she reminds me of my mom :) Thank you for posting this.
no I didnt get that, jen knows what WE look for in her videos and why we watch, her videos have a real tv like consistency, and jen was helping her out because her mother in law probably knows a little english and this is a recipe from her heart.
I'm italian but I live in england and it's a pleasure listen to your mother in law speaks with this beautiful very strong italian accent! I don't have such a strong accent at all, but it's really fascinating for me listen to this sweet lady. Merry Christmas!
Loved this! Typical Italian momma nitpicking so that you do your absolute best! Reminds me of all the time I spent in the kitchen with my Italian Grandmother. You were so patient with her and you can tell that she sees you as her daughter, not daughter in law. Once you marry Italian, you are Italian ;)
Sweet! These look just like the real thing and I love the short story that goes with the cookies. Awesome video just like all the others :) Plus it was awesome to see your mother in law.
I didn't see it but she was probably just a little irate w her mother in law because of the language barrier and that she was being a little controlling
You would be such a great mom and I love coming on to you tube every day an watching your new videos I check everyday for a new one you are truly my inspiration in my baking career 💖💖💖
Hey do you think you might be able to do another version of this video with just you? It was a lovely video but quite hard to follow if you actually want to make them haha :)
I luv the mother in-law. She adds a touch of authenticity to the recipe, without her I would certainly have questioned it. Can you ask her the best way these are eaten please? Break open and eaten separately or together with all the flavors. Also I didn't understand about the colors. So the red goes 3/4 and the yellow 1/4 of the cookie? How many peaches does this make? Thanks!!!
If you didn't like it then keep your rude comments to yourself. I personally found it amusing to watch you get bossed around in your kitchen! Lol.. Mother in laws!
This is such a wonderful and unique recipe! Thank you for sharing and a big thank you to Josephina! This cookie is a labour of love and the end result is so pretty and special.
She's not talking down to her, her mother in law being from Italy can make it hard for the mother in law to explain it to us. All Jen was doing was helping her mother in law along.
What a unique recipe - thanks for sharing! I have watched several of your videos so far and they were all very well done and all the goodies you've made looked so delicious. I would love if you made more videos with your mother-in-law to share other unusual Italian dishes. My grandmother was Italian (from Sicily) but sadly I never did get to learn from her how to cook all the good things she knew how to make.
Am I the only one who gets awkward trying to listen to someone who doesn't speak English try? I feel like the video would have been better if she just spoke Italian and the video had subtitles.
Oh my god! I love it! I am like 50% Italian, and I love the treats and the food that they make there! It is so amazing! You guys did such a nice job! Love it!
OMG!! Your mother in law reminds me of my Godmother! There is always a very specific way things should be done in an Italian or Sicilian kitchen. We are lucky women. You because you have such an amazing mother in law from Italy to teach you the way it's done there and me because I have a Sicilian Godmother to do the same!
Those are amazing. My husband is from Europe and he has been talking about them. We were looking for a recipe and so glad that I found this one :) Thank you!
I'm Italian and my mum just made these cookies for my birthday! Absolutely love them! great video! it's really nice to let the world know about our typical recipes :)
your MIL must be very very proud of you ! people in the comments say that she 'insults' you or anything like that, but i don't think thats true. i can just see how much love you have for eachother. thanks for sharing this great video, i loved it ! 💕
My grandmother is Italian, and although English is her first language she acts a lot like your mother in law. My nana and I used to make homemade pastas and desserts when I was younger so your video made me remember and miss her, but in a good way. Merry Christmas :)
I thought this video was great, made me miss my grandma( I know its your mil) but reminded me of my grandma , gather all the knowledge of reciepes she has it will be a priceless memory, thank you for sharing her with us
Oooh!! I love these!! I'm Italian, and I eat these every Christmas! My sister-in-law made these this year! Usually my aunt makes them! So yummy, and I love making them!
I would first like to say, I absolutely LOVE your MIL. She's so cute and the effort that she's using trying to use proper English is so awesome. I don't know why I teared up watching her but I love videos like this! Ignore the negative people and comments because at the end of the day, we all have grandparents and we should appreciate them no matter what race they are, what language they speak.
I love her accent. And I think she is loving to be able to share this with everyone. People being so rude should keep it to themselves. English is not her native language I would love to hear y'all try and speak Italian! Thank you Jen for bringing her on your show I enjoyed learning something from another culture. I've moved from California to Germany and let me tell you it's a change and not for weak minded people but learning new culture is AMAZING. Has your husbands side of the family taught you any Italian. My fiancée has been teaching me German it's not easyXD
How long has your MIL been speaking english for ? But her accent is amazing. Im defo trying this recipe. Thankyou for having Her on your channel, and teaching us this Italian recipe.
Those are the most beautiful cookies I have seen ever. I´ll try them some day and hope to get that nice vew. Thank you to Jussepina and you for sharing.
Loved the video, the recipe, your MIL and how u work together. Really great to get this traditional recipe straight from this lady. Thanks for sharing it! I totally want to try it! Plus, love ur videos! Merry christmas and best wishes from germany
Even though I barely understood anything she said, you're mother-in-law is adorable! You are such a wonderful person to have her as a special guest. I plan on making this recipe.

Leilani Aletras Thanks so much for your kind words! She is super special to us, but yes, Italian mom's are the bosses!! Hahaha Thanks for watching!
Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio LOL!
I love watching old people cook. They have a special charm and patience. And her accent. I cant. So cute.
Thank you for sharing this really special family recipe!

Tiffany French Thank you so much. Truly. What a wonderful story to share with me. Sorry for your loss, but our memories live within us forever.
Did your grandmother only speak Gaelic... what part of Ireland was she from?? 😊
No she spoke english as well but it was hard to understand because she had a heavy accent. When she met my grandpa she was living in Dublin. Im not sure where she grew up though. that looks like a butt
Lol it look like a butt
It does not look like a butt
So sweet that you chose your mother in law as a guest and her recipe sounds delicious.
Well done Giuseppina! I think she did a wonderful job.

This is so precious! And those cookies look amazing:) what a special treat to have her on the show, something you can cherish forever.
Thank you Nona for sharing your wonderful cookies with us.

Your mom in law seems so sweet, she reminds me of my Portuguese mom in law 😄 those cookies look awesome!!
Your MIL is absolutely precious. I love seeing things like this... passing on tradition down the family. This is so special! Thank you for sharing!
ITALIAN PRIDE!!!

Yuhuuuuuuuuuuuuu

yaaasss 95% a lot of my family is from there
Yayyy!
I'm Italian but not as much as that. 😊
Cindy Laudico Thank you for commenting!! I hope you enjoy the recipe!
I loved this video!
Your mother in law is so cute! Her reminds me my korean mother in law.
Hugs!
Gaby García Thanks for watching!
Your patience is so lovely to watch. I bet your MIL has some wonderful recipes from the old country. Family is of paramount importance!
Awww! Your Mother in Law is so cute!
I enjoyed this so much! I love your mother in law! I think it's great that your passing down traditions, Jen. Really thank you for making my day!
Dear cookies cupcakes and cardio
I am sorry people are posting such negative comments a lot of people speak other languages and because they do doesn't mean that other people can put then down for that in fact since she speaks another language makes her extra smart I love your videos and thank you for your positive attitude it is seeming to rub off on me happy holidays and have a happy new year
Heather Whitley Thanks so much for your kind message! I really appreciate it. Some of the reactions and comments were surprising regarding my MIL, but I don't let them bother me. I have way more fans like you than the negative ones. Thanks again!
Reminds me so much of my grandma who is from Sicily. So wonderful to watch a true Italian help you bake. Awesome video!!!
God, how awkward it is to see you just gradually irritated by the sweet Italian mama!
If you wana be the queen of the tutorial video don't bring anyone in it.
I just feel so bad for the mama lady who's nervous but willing to share her amazing recipe.
Your mother-in-law is very adorable! I enjoyed this video so much, thank you!
Aww this is such a beautiful video! Nothing like MIL and DIL bonding :) Your MIL is very sweet. I was smiling throughout the whole video XD
thought i was the only one
Sassy Potato That's so neat to hear :) Thanks for telling me!
This makes me miss my grandmother. That thick accent is what I love! Loved her!
Oh, how I wish I had an Italian mother-in-law...

She's so sweet!
That's what we thought too :) Happy New Year!
Adorable! Thank you. My mom used to make these for me when I was little. Now my daughter and I are going to make them for her on her birthday. She’s going to love the surprise. Thank you so much for posting
I have a question.
Why are they called peach cookies if they don't have peach in them?
Btw your mother in law is so sweet
Because they look like peaches
The colour on the outside has peach flavouring
Your mother-in-law is just so sweet. She reminds me of my grandparents.
Luv the video! And your mother in law :)
They look yummy!!!
Ok..your mother in law is totally adorable! i want more videos of you two baking together..it's so great to learn old recipes from other cultures. I absolutely love those peach cookies..we get them from a great italian bakery here in Windsor Ontario. :)
Elf on the shelf left hand bottom corner holding a cupcake 😄🎄🎁🎅
The first part of the video
I saw it! I have one of my own and his name is Herbie. He is so cute and hides in the weirdest places. He actually filled up my pottery bowl from Bowls 4 Hunger put dog food in it and left a note saying
"Yuck! Don't give these to Santa!"
It was so cute!
I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this recipe. One of my aunt's sister-in-law makes these, so I've only been able to get my hands on them once every two years or so. They are amazzzzining. I loved your mother-in-law too. . .she reminds me of my mom :) Thank you for posting this.
It looks like you're annoyed with your mother in law
She's NOT!
Sorry she look like that meanie
Excuse me!
Yeah you're mean I know the way you're saying she's not
no I didnt get that, jen knows what WE look for in her videos and why we watch, her videos have a real tv like consistency, and jen was helping her out because her mother in law probably knows a little english and this is a recipe from her heart.
I'm italian but I live in england and it's a pleasure listen to your mother in law speaks with this beautiful very strong italian accent! I don't have such a strong accent at all, but it's really fascinating for me listen to this sweet lady. Merry Christmas!
Bless her heart
Loved this! Typical Italian momma nitpicking so that you do your absolute best! Reminds me of all the time I spent in the kitchen with my Italian Grandmother. You were so patient with her and you can tell that she sees you as her daughter, not daughter in law. Once you marry Italian, you are Italian ;)
she is so sweet but she likes to interrupt a lot.
Shes italian what do you expect lol 😂
(My opinion) She was annoying..
Well then again she is old...so
no she wasn't your rude don't comment if you're gonna be rude 😠
no she wasn't she was sweet and don't comment if you're gonna be rude 😠😠😠😠
Sweet! These look just like the real thing and I love the short story that goes with the cookies. Awesome video just like all the others :) Plus it was awesome to see your mother in law.
I feel like she was a little mean to her mother in law
seems like a bit of a power struggle...
I didn't see it but she was probably just a little irate w her mother in law because of the language barrier and that she was being a little controlling
Thank you SO much, these are wonderful! I love the old recipes; they are getting harder to find. Thanks for sharing this!!
I really like your mother in law !!😇
Can u do a video with your husband?
Shahinur Rahman I'm afraid he's happy behind the camera! Maybe one day I'll talk him into it )
You would be such a great mom and I love coming on to you tube every day an watching your new videos I check everyday for a new one you are truly my inspiration in my baking career 💖💖💖
Hey do you think you might be able to do another version of this video with just you? It was a lovely video but quite hard to follow if you actually want to make them haha :)
JadeElousia If you want it in simpler form, the blog post and the description box will work for you. Thanks!
Thanks!!!
This is not how they look in Italy. they are soft , not hard like a stone.
I love her!! Your MIL is so adorable getting worried and making sure everything is right. You know she really cares
i'm italian and i never seen this type of peach xD
calemipigliamale in Lombardia le abbiamo,le vendono anche al supermercato già pronte .
I have never seen anything like this recipe and I have been baking a long time. Thank you for sharing and demonstrating! This is a real treasure.
Omg, you talk down to her like she doesn't even know what she's doing. If she is teaching you then clearly she knows.
She's not talking down to her, her mother in law being from Italy can make it hard for the mother in law to explain it to us. All Jen was doing was helping her mother in law along.
You do realize that she is explaining it for her viewers since her MIL is a little less fluent than in English right?
What a unique recipe - thanks for sharing! I have watched several of your videos so far and they were all very well done and all the goodies you've made looked so delicious. I would love if you made more videos with your mother-in-law to share other unusual Italian dishes. My grandmother was Italian (from Sicily) but sadly I never did get to learn from her how to cook all the good things she knew how to make.
xtafpfhr Thanks so much for watching! I'll see what else she has to share with us!
Love it!

You two are so sweet together! I'm glad you get along with your Mum-in-law :D Happy holidays!

I thought this video was great, made me miss my grandma( I know its your mil) but reminded me of my grandma , gather all the knowledge of reciepes she has it will be a priceless memory, thank you for sharing her with us
I really enjoyed watching this video! You are very patient. Your mother in law is so cute. 😊. Thanks for sharing Jen!!!
Ignore the negative people and comments because at the end of the day, we all have grandparents and we should appreciate them no matter what race they are, what language they speak.
a most intriguing recipe and video.thank you for sharing.
So sweet to put ur mother in law in ur video:) love her accent
