    Cool tank but looks a little small for 5000 gallons?

      @@djnolook384 5473 gallons right now with filtration… just pulled some holding tanks offline… internal dimensions are 103.75”x107”x90.5” deep… good eye, we just call it the 5000…

    I’ve had that happen in the past as well however with my new tank cheato is growing like a weed and it’s making it hard to keep my nitrates up! Perhaps try a newer light that has dimming control and slowly ramp up the light so as not to blast the algae with too much PAR right away. That’s what I did this go around and it’s working amazing.

      @@mattnano thanks 🙏 that’s a great idea… I do have a dimming light on it now so I will give that a go!

    Large refugium will bring down your nitrates and phosphates

      @@mattnano thanks for the recommendation. I have a spot where I have grown all different types of algae’s. They seem to grow like crazy then die back (I’m sure due to lack of necessary elements). I should give it another shot… 👍

    you can try a drum filter or a floss filter for ponds🤡

    • @DaveAnderson
      @DaveAnderson  Месяц назад +1

      @@andibandi1190 I had a salt water drum filter ordered and paid for but the builder took the money and faded into oblivion. I do like those ideas… filter socks are too much work for this system
