Accept was criminally underrated. I would love to see a reaction to "Metal Heart" from Accept, mainly to see if Kel catches the music reference used in the song. Enjoying your reactions , keep up the good work.

Totally...Wolf Hoffman used lots of classical motifs in Accept, and I'm sure Kel would certainly appreciate it... the folk outro on Princess of the Dawn is awesome, mandolin/balalaika inspired...Accept was very musically deep.

Accept has such an amazing catalog. My first experience with them was their "Accept" / "I'm a Rebel" 1980 LP when I graduated from High School back then. Their early stuff is an amazing journey if you go from their 1st 1979 album onward. If you do so, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Rock on!

Saw Accept open for Krokus back in 1986. It was really a co-headliner show, since both bands played for 90 minutes, but Accept went on before Krokus. Rough Cutt was the opening band.

UDO was the lead singer for Accept for years, and he started his own band later. Most people in the states only know Balls to the Wall by them, which is an OK song, but not near their best IMHO. The first time I saw them in concert, that was the only thing I understood. lol They were opening for Kiss.
I saw them open for Iron Maiden when Accept was supporting their Metal Heart album (85) and Iron Maiden was doing Powerslave. What a show!

      Rick S
Rick S I saw that KISS / Accept tour also back in '84 (Feb. 24, 1984) in Worcester, MA. That was KISS' 'Lick it Up' tour. And if I recall, Accept also supported Ozzy that same year (May 2, 1984) on his 'Bark at the Moon' tour in Worcester. Both were great shows.

No no no. This song is a must to listen in any live version. Pure greatness. Wolf Hoffmann is one of the best lead guitarists ever. He's not just shredding. He plays for the song and the feeling. Check Kill The Pain or Shadow Soldiers live from their recent releases. And of course. Metal Heart and Balls To The Wall as these two songs belong to the anthems of heavy metal.

Udo has unique vocals, and he still tours. I saw him about a year ago here in Texas and he did all the Accept hits " midnight mover, fast as a shark, balls to the wall, and of course princess of the dawn plus many more". There was a point i thought all these 80's artists and bands were done. But they have surprised me , and they hit the road for one more round.

My favorite song from Accept is "Losing more than you ever had". But they have such a great list of music. Fast as a Shark, Balls to the Wall, Restless and Wild, and Metal Heart were all fantastic ALBUMS. every song IMO.
Udo went on to form another band called UDO. Their debut album was called Animal House. It was a great album too. I love it when you put on Accept in a room full of people, and there will be at least 3 people that will slowly turn their heads with "that look". Its the greatest. I would suggest giving Animal House a listen.

Udo Dirkschneider is the founder and original singer of Accept. The guitarist Wolf Hofmann cheated him and fired him from his own band in 1986/1987. Then Udo founded his Band U.D.O. and started with the album Animal House, which was written by Accept, because the band wanted to go in another direction, more radio-friendly and oriented to conquer the American market. The tried this with the american singer David Reece, but failed. Their album Eat the Heat was a flop and the band split. They made a reunion with Udo in 1993 for 3 albums and split again. Then an anniversery reunion just for some live shows in 2005. Then 2009 Accept hired american singer Mark Tornillo and they released since then 4 albums. Udo is still touring and had a big success in the last years, because he renamed his band to his lastname Dirkschneider and played live only Accept classics and was touring the world, also two times in the USA.
Try to catch him live this year (2020) when he's playing as support for Helloween.

At that time I felt that "Accept" is leading the "AC/DC" music in a different new rock direction. I didn't know where the train was going. But when thrash metal bands like "Anthrax" said in an interview, that they mixed the music of ACCEPT with hardcore and played all this in a new sound garb (we know it today as thrash metal), I knew where the train went.
